Abstract

One of the main challenges is hiding secret messages in media such as JPEG images. However, embedding messages directly into EXIF metadata can pose detection risks and vulnerability to forensic analysis attacks, and this technique faces challenges in security, resistance to metadata manipulation, and message extraction accuracy. The method used in this study involves embedding a message encrypted using AES-256 ECB mode and Base64 into the EXIF metadata of JPEG files, so that only those with the decryption key can access the message content. This system is designed to be compatible with standard image processing software without changing the main structure of the JPEG file, making it difficult to detect by conventional metadata analysis techniques. Test results show that this method is able to embed secret messages with a high level of security without changing the visual quality of the image. AES-256 encryption encoded in Base64 is proven to be effective in maintaining the confidentiality of messages, so that only users with the correct decryption key can access them. Thus, the combination of EXIF metadata steganography and AES-256 encryption in Base64 provides an effective solution for securing secret messages in JPEG files, improving data protection against the threat of information theft and manipulation.

Abstract

Low-inertia power systems, especially those based on renewable energy sources such as solar and wind, face major challenges in maintaining frequency and voltage stability. The absence of mechanical inertia in these systems, which is usually available in synchronous generators, makes the system more vulnerable to load changes or network disturbances. Therefore, an effective control method is needed to maintain such stability. This study analysed the frequency and voltage stability control of low-inertia power systems using a Boost Converter. A Boost Converter is used to regulate and stabilize the output voltage of a fluctuating power source, such as a solar panel, by increasing the unstable input voltage. Meanwhile, a frequency control method such as is implemented to imitate mechanical inertia, thus maintaining the frequency at a desired value. The results show that the use of a Boost Converter effectively improves voltage stability, while a VSG-based frequency control strategy successfully imitates the inertia response of a synchronous generator, maintaining a stable frequency despite the system having low inertia. Thus, the combination of these two methods can improve the reliability of low-inertia power systems, especially in applications utilizing renewable energy sources.

Abstract

Atik Bakery uses a power generation system to meet its operational energy needs, one of which comes from a generator unit that plays an important role in maintaining a stable power supply. One of the key components in generator operation is the excitation system that functions to regulate the generator output voltage. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the generator unit excitation system at Atik Bakery, by analyzing efficiency, voltage stability, and response to changes in load. The methods used include measuring the generator output voltage at various load conditions, as well as monitoring the parameters of the excitation system using measuring devices and data analysis. The results of the study indicate that the generator unit excitation system can maintain a stable output voltage under normal load conditions, but there is a decrease in performance at higher loads, which can affect the quality of power supply to the factory. This evaluation provides a basis for efforts to improve and enhance the performance of the excitation system to improve operational efficiency and stability at Atik Bakery.

Abstract

The mining sector is a key pillar of the Indonesian economy, contributing significantly to state revenue and employment. Indonesia's abundant natural resource potential makes it a strategic destination for foreign investors in the mining sector. However, the investment climate in this sector still faces various challenges, such as regulatory uncertainty, expropriation, and legal conflicts. This study aims to analyze the forms of legal protection provided to foreign investors in mining activities in Indonesia. The research method used is a normative juridical approach with a statutory approach. The results show that legal regulations related to foreign investment in the mining sector are based on the principles of legal certainty and fair treatment, strict but transparent licensing, guarantees of ownership and return of capital, and social and environmental obligations. These regulations include provisions related to the legality of business entities, general licensing, and share ownership. Forms of legal protection for foreign investors in the mining sector include protection against nationalization, legal certainty through business permits, fair and equal treatment, and access to national and international dispute resolution mechanisms. All of these instruments aim to build a stable and attractive investment climate for foreign capital.

Abstract

Prioritizing infrastructure projects is a major challenge in regional development planning, particularly when faced with limited resources and complex assessment criteria. This study aims to design a decision support system that can assist policymakers in determining the most deserving infrastructure projects for prioritization. The method used is a combination of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine criteria weights and the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) to rank alternative projects. Five main criteria are used in this study: cost, urgency, social benefits, land readiness, and conformity with the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD). This study uses simulation data on ten alternative infrastructure projects in Deli Serdang Regency. The AHP results show that urgency (29.9%) and conformity with the RPJMD (25.6%) are the criteria with the highest weights. The consistency value (CR = 0.0333) indicates that the criteria assessment is carried out consistently. Through TOPSIS, it was found that the Health Center B Development project had the highest preference value (0.8176), followed by Terminal I Revitalization and Connecting Bridge E. This study proves that the integration of the AHP and TOPSIS methods is able to provide a rational, transparent, and applicable decision-making framework in the context of regional infrastructure development planning.
