This article intends to describe a necessity for the presence of peace amidst the diversity of society. This diversity is now an inevitable, especially the depletion of cultural boundaries, and ethnic identity which fuses in the context of globalization. One of the potentials in this diversity is the emergence of conflicts of interest and conflicts in the name of primordial identity. The offer of a multicultural approach will recognize the potential and legitimacy of diversity and socio-cultural differences of each ethnic group. In this view both individuals and groups of various ethnicities can join the community, engage in societal cohesion without having to lose their ethnic and cultural identity, while at the same time still obtaining their rights to participate fully in various fields of community activities.

The era of information technology that has developed dynamically in recent years has brought significant changes in the way to communicate and mobilize the masses. Public spaces that were once confined to a certain space and time, are now eliminated by the latest technology, to give birth to unlimited public space and can be accessed by anyone, anywhere and anytime. Public space is called virtual public space. The sophistication and effectiveness of this virtual public space is increasingly apparent when a new social movement is able to use it. One of the new social movements was called the National Movement for Guards Fatwa (GNPF) of the Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI) which was born around the end of 2016. This paper tried to examine the MUI GNPF as a new social movement that managed to make maximum use of virtual public space. Felt until now, a year later. In general, this paper is divided into two. The first part discusses the actions of the MUI's GNPF and a series of Islamic Defending Action. The second part discusses virtual public space which is used as the main means for the GNPF MUI in its movement to mobilize the masses.

The symptoms of religious intolerance in Indonesia began to undermine diversity in Indonesia. The most influential factor in encouraging the occurrence of these symptoms is education. In this case, education that is Islamic in mind is a pesantren. Pesantren is an educational institution that has its own perspective and style of thinking about tolerance. This study aims to determine the constructs of thought and the implementation of religious tolerance implemented in education and activities carried out at Universal Islamic Boarding Schools. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the study show that: The construction of thoughts built on religious tolerance is categorized as inclusive thoughts and attitudes in religion, namely thoughts that believe in the existence of truth in other religious beliefs. The foundation of the thought construction is tasamuh, which is a moderate style of Islamic understanding. The concept of religious tolerance is implemented in the policies of Universal Islamic boarding schools through a curriculum of educational activities that reflects education with a multiculturalism-pluralism pattern. This education includes conflict resolution education, Human Rights (HAM), pesantren education for peace. Regarding activities that reflect multiculturalism-pluralism education, namely muhadlarah, pesantren for peace seminars, and cross-cultural discussions with various universities without favoritism.

This paper discusses the discourse about the complexity of ethnic and religious identity monism in Mataram Lombok West Nusa Tenggara; Sasak ethnic is Islam, while Balinese ethnic is Hindu. The question is then does religious conversion also include ethnic conversion? Methodologically, this paper is library research. Several notes related to this discourse are as follows: (1) Increasing conflict escalation occurs during the Reformation era. Identity politics emerge and strengthen. In several conflicts at Mataram, the ethnic and religious identity is thickening. (2) There is a complexity between democracy and diversity. Democracy demands unity, while multiculturalism emphasizes particularity. Balancing them is easy in theory but difficult in practice. (3) It must be distinguished between politics and politicization. In the case of Indonesia, ethnic and religious issues are often politicized by some people to achieve their own group goals. (4) Relying on ethnicity is a natural instinct in self-defense and affirming identity. This is not necessary to be troubled and blamed. (5) These problems are like a Pandora's box, a box full of diseases. It was the reform era that opened the box which had been closed or covered by the New Order. What happened in the Reformation Era is the emergence of various ethnic and religious problems which were not recognized during the New Order era.

One of the local beliefs in Indonesia is Sunda Wiwitan. This article is aimed to observe the religiosity life especially the follower of Sunda Wiwitan in getting their civil rights as the citizens of a state. The study showed that there was a tendency of unfairness to the local belief followers especially in getting their civil rights. Whereas the power and ability of religiosity oriented to the multicultural which accept the plurality. The plurality acceptance was not taken for granted. It needed reinforcement and experience to be able to do religious deconstruction. The state, in this context, as the regulator should recheck the civil rights demand into the policies. Thus, it could give the same right for all the citizen including the local belief followers.

This study examines the relation of Religion and the Traditional Medicine System to rural communities. The big conclusion of this dissertation shows that there are religious relations with the traditional medical system in the form of integration of religious functions into the traditional medicine system. Acculturation of religion and culture is evident in the traditional medicine system. The most important thing that characterizes traditional medicine is that at the practical level the traditional medical system in rural communities is inseparable from the magical and religious elements. So based on that religious function can be used as a function of therapy. This study uses qualitative methods, using two data sources. This paper discusses the political identity of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS). PKS is one of the parties based on Islam but stands firmly in the auspices of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. PKS is born from movement, LDK-KAMMI-PK-PKS. The ideals of the Khilafah Islamiyah are always present in the ideals of the movement. Although in the auspices of plural and multicultural country, the PKS still exists to adjust with the Republic of Indonesia. PKS political identity for some may seem gray. This is understandable, especially if we look at it from the perspective of incomplete Islamic understanding. The concept of the caliphate of Islamiyah ala PKS is different from what is understood and developed in other activism. In essence, the Islamic caliphate that the PKS wants to uphold is international justice, international welfare, international harmony, and world prosperity. It starts from building prosperity, harmony, and national justice.

This paper aims to conduct a study of Isa al Masih in the view of al-Qadiyaniah. Islam believes that the prophet Isa al-Masih was appointed by Allah to rise from the pursuit of the Jews who wanted to crucify and kill him and then be lowered at the end of time. This belief is opposed by followers of al-Qodiyaniyah, they consider that the belief of Muslims and Christians is a distorted belief. Al-Qodiyaniah believes that Isa al-Masih did not die and was not taken up to heaven. This study is using a library research method with a qualitative approach. Research results show that Jesus was crucified and did not die on the cross, but Isa al-Masih was lowered from the cross and then migrated to Kasymir until his death and was buried there. And as for the purpose of the appointment of Jesus according to Qodiyaniyah is the departure of Jesus to Kasymir after being crucified, and another purpose of the appointment of Jesus is to elevate the degree and praise for Jesus, not appointed his body. as well as the purpose of the fall of Jesus for the second time is the rise of Islam and Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is a person who is trying to revive that religion of Islam. And among al-Qodiyaniyah's beliefs is that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is as Isa al-Masih and also as Imam al-Mahdi in one body.
