Abstract

This research aims to explore the influence of community participation on the creation of local legal products in Indonesia, focusing on regions with special autonomy status like Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar Regency, Yogyakarta City, and Surakarta City, and comparing them with regions with ordinary autonomy status like Bandung Regency and Bandung City. Using a combined normative and empirical legal research approach, including public consultations and field surveys, the study delves into the origin of regional legal products, highlighting community participation, people's sovereignty, the rule of law, and public policy. It examines various factors affecting community involvement, such as social, political, cultural, and educational factors. The research findings underscore the importance of community participation in shaping the quality and compliance of local legal products. However, conventional patterns in facilitating community involvement often result in suboptimal participation, except for unique cases like Aceh, which demonstrates innovative approaches and impactful outcomes. The study concludes that enhancing community participation is crucial for improving the quality and effectiveness of local legal products, ensuring better compliance and implementation at the grassroots level.

Abstract

On Adonara Island, customary land conflicts began with a rival war, or war between citizens, which occurred due to differences in customary rights over land. There was a conflict between the residents of Narasosina Village and the residents of Lewobunga Village. In this case, the residents of Lewonara Village refused the inauguration of a settlement location for the residents of Lewobunga Village on customary land that was considered to belong to Narasaosina Village. So, the war between the residents of Narasaosina Village and the residents of Lewobunga Village because the request letter to empty the flower casserole was not heeded. In the last twenty years, there have been ten villages that have been warned over customary land rights and there has been no serious settlement. The ten villages that were moaning and had not been resolved were: (1). Redontena Village vs Adobala Village, (2). Sandosi Village vs Sandosi Village (a war fought within the village, between tribes that fight over land), (3). Lamahala vs Huruhura(4). Teulu Old Village vs Kewo Keleng Village, (5). Narasosina Village vs Lewo Bunga Village. To resolve the conflict that occurred in Adonara, East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, efforts would be made to resolve the conflict. Conflict resolution could be done with conflict management, and conflict resolution was a peaceful method that allows both parties to end or significantly reduce the conflict. It might not be too difficult to handle or help handle conflicts that arise from conflicts of interest.

Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to know the concepts of religion and human rights, freedom of expression, multiculturalism, conflict and conflict resolution from philosophical and sociological perspectives. The research method used in this writing is library research. The results of this study found that from a philosophical perspective, religion, especially Islam, and human rights both are a unity that has values from God Almighty. While freedom of expression is the right of every individual, and multicultural includes the concept of cultural equality itself, which certainly triggers several conflicts in the form of disputes, then there is a settlement process called conflict resolution. As for the sociological perspective, religion and human rights are social facts, freedom of expression is a manifestation of both, multicultural is a difference from each side whether culture or race, conflict and conflict resolution are social processes and their resolution.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and find the differences and similarities between the texts of the Qur'an and the Bible. One of them is the comparison of the Qur'an and the Bible about the creation of the universe. The method used is library research by using the intertextuality theory approach initiated by Julia Krsiteva to compare the Qur'an and the Bible. The results of this study show three principles of similarities and differences in the intertextuality of al-Qur'an and al-Kitab. First, the principle of haplology in Surah Al-Fussilat verse 11 explains the creation of the heavens and the earth, which is simpler than the explanation in the Bible. Second, the excerpt principle found in Surah Al-Anbiya:30 with the Bible 1:6 explains the beginning of the universe as a solid unity, then separated as it is today, namely the existence of the heavens and the earth. Third, the parallel principle regarding the similarity between texts in terms of themes and thoughts, such as in Surah Al-Baqarah:117 and the Bible 1:1-2. Both discuss and emphasize the theological side of understanding the verse of the creation of the universe. The fundamental difference lies in the details of the phases of the creation of the universe and the detailed order in which the creation of the universe took place.

Abstract

The story of Prophet Moses (Moses) and Pharaoh (Pharaoh) is the most frequently mentioned narrative in the Qur'an, appearing in as many as 296 verses. The repetition of this story underscores its significance and the lessons it holds, especially regarding relations with leaders. Scholars such as Sayyid Qutb, Hasan al-Banna, and al-Mawardi emphasize the obligation of Muslims to preach to unjust leaders using religious teachings. Allah warns of the dire consequences of a leader's injustice, including painful punishment and the destruction of a nation. Therefore, da'wah (preaching) to leaders becomes a crucial step. The research methodology includes collecting verses related to the story of Prophet Moses and Pharaoh, carefully examining the words and sentences used in these verses, studying the interpretations from various schools of thought, and conducting a thorough analysis using objective reasoning and philosophical and allegorical methods (ishari) as approached by al-Ghazali. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of da'wah from the story of Prophet Moses with Pharaoh is that despite numerous challenges from tyrannical regimes, Prophet Moses remained steadfast and patient in carrying out his ministry. Prophet Moses' style of discussion and reasoned debate demonstrates the value of a preaching strategy that focuses on both spiritual and intellectual strength. Prophet Moses' attitude demonstrates how a preacher must be courageous, patient, and consistent when dealing with opposing powers.

Abstract

The phenomenon of religious communication through online media, such as YouTube, has introduced new dimensions to religiosity, categorized as religion online and online religion. Religion online uses digital platforms as tools for disseminating religious messages and storing information, such as digital manuscripts and sermons, accessible anytime. In contrast, online religion creates a space for active religious communication and practices, especially prominent during the COVID-19 pandemic when religious activities shifted online. This study focuses on the online religion aspect by examining the spiritual experiences expressed by Sundanese cultural figure Kang Yat R through the Si Rawing storytelling series on YouTube. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with Kang Yat R and analysis of YouTube content. The results reveal that Si Rawing reflects Kang Yat R’s religious experiences in three dimensions: thought (doctrine), action (ritual), and community (group), in alignment with Joachim Wach's framework. This study underscores the role of online platforms in preserving and transmitting religious and cultural heritage to younger generations.

Abstract

This paper examines the concept of Living Religion through the Yasinan tradition, a religious activity that plays a significant role in the lives of Muslim communities, particularly in Indonesia. Using the theoretical framework presented in Mary Pat Fisher’s book, Living Religion, this study explores how Yasinan functions as a dynamic expression of Islamic culture, reflecting the interaction between religious teachings, social practices, and local cultural adaptations. The Yasinan ritual, which involves the recitation of Surah Yasin as an act of worship, has become an integral part of many Muslim communities' lives, fostering spiritual solidarity and cultural continuity. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive analysis and utilizes library research to gather relevant sources from various forms of literature and digital resources. Through an analysis of the ritual's role in strengthening social bonds and preserving Islamic teachings, the study demonstrates how religious practices like Yasinan evolve within cultural contexts and remain relevant and meaningful in contemporary society. This paper contributes to a deeper understanding of how living religious practices play a vital role in social structures and offers insights into the relationship between religion and culture within modern Islamic communities.

Abstract

This article examines the dynamics of religion in the era of globalization based on perspectives outlined in the book Living Religions by Mary Pat Fisher and Robin Rinehart. Globalization has significantly influenced the practice and role of religion in modern society. On one hand, globalization creates opportunities for religious pluralism, cross-cultural dialogue, and the dissemination of universal values. On the other hand, it also presents challenges such as radicalization, interfaith conflicts, and the process of secularization. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, this article explores how religion functions as both an element of cultural and spiritual identity and a force for social transformation within an ever-changing global landscape. It also discusses the interaction between religion and politics, the role of religion in conflict resolution, and the importance of interfaith dialogue amidst technological advancements. The analysis reveals that religion remains relevant as a means of providing meaning and stability in the globalization era. Moreover, religion holds great potential to serve as a bridge for fostering harmony amidst diversity. Living Religions offers comprehensive insights into how religions adapt to global changes while maintaining the core values of each tradition.

Abstract

Newspaper has become rarely used, and now digital media has emerged as a device that, in addition to being widespread, is also easily accessible. In the contemporary digital era, the dynamics of news communication have undergone a significant transformation, impacting both traditional news outlets and emerging online platforms. This thesis explores the complexities of the transformation of print news communication into digital, with a specific focus on the case of Pikiran Rakyat, a leading news outlet in Indonesia. The digital era has revolutionized the way news is produced, disseminated, and consumed, raising critical questions about how news organizations adapt to this ever-evolving landscape while maintaining their credibility and relevance. Using a comprehensive qualitative research approach, this study delves into the strategies, challenges, and news communication practices at Pikiran Rakyat Media Network (PRMN). The research also investigates how Pikiran Rakyat Media Network responds to the rapidly changing information ecosystem, addresses the challenges posed by misinformation, and sustains its position as a trusted source of news for its readers. To achieve this, the chosen case study methods include observation and interviews. The findings reveal that Pikiran Rakyat Media Network has successfully transformed its management by adopting the Platform Economy model, which facilitates collaboration with local media and accelerates digital news distribution. The transformation involves a gradual process of convergence between print and digital formats, addressing differences in work ethos, audience needs, and medium characteristics to create a more efficient working ecosystem.

Abstract

The tradition of Khataman Al-Qur'an in Indonesia reflects the rich diversity of religious practices within Muslim communities. Each region showcases unique rituals influenced by local traditions and contextual religious interpretations. This study aims to explore the variety of Khataman Al-Qur'an traditions across Indonesia and analyze them through the lens of the Living Religions concept introduced by Mary Pat Fisher and Robin Rinehart. This approach views religion as a dynamic, contextual practice embedded in the daily lives of its adherents. A qualitative method was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as literature reviews, observations, and interviews. The findings reveal that Khataman Al-Qur'an traditions serve not only as expressions of religiosity but also as a medium to strengthen social solidarity, preserve local culture, and instill spiritual values. Variations in practices, such as mujahadah, thanksgiving rituals (syukuran), or communal feasts (selametan), illustrate the adaptation of Islam within the cultural contexts of the Indonesian archipelago. This study enhances understanding of the interplay between religion and culture while offering fresh perspectives on the diversity of Islamic traditions in Indonesia.
