As-Sabiqun Journal is an interdisciplinary publication of original research and articles on Islamic Studies and Educational Sciences. This journal was published by Pendidikan Islam Anak Usia Dini (PIAUD) STIT Palapa Nusantara Lombok - NTB which was published twice in a year (biannualy), March and October with a minimum of 5 articles. The journal aims to provide a forum for scholarly understanding of the field of education and plays an important role in promoting the process that accumulated knowledge, values, and skills. Scientific manuscript dealing with Islamic Studies and Educational Sciences topics are particularly welcome to be submitted. The journal encompasses research articles, original research report, and scientific reviews in education in any fields including: 1. Early Childhood Education Theory; 2. Early Childhood Education Learning Practice; 3. Early Childhood Development includes Religious and Moral, Cognitive, Language, Social-Emotional, Physical-Motoric, and Art Values; 4. PAUD Policy; 5. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Write Around learning model assisted by digital image media on students' narrative writing skills in elementary school. This experimental research used a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects were two classes: the experimental class, which used the Write Around model assisted by digital image media based on Canva, and the control class, which applied the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The results show that the Write Around model assisted by digital image media is effective in improving students' narrative writing skills. This is evident from the average score increase from 7.2 in the pretest to 18.3 in the posttest in the experimental class, while the control class only reached 13.6 in the posttest. Statistical tests also showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes, with the Write Around model having a greater impact on students' writing skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of an innovative learning model assisted by digital media, specifically Canva-based digital images, can be an effective solution to enhance students' literacy skills, particularly in narrative writing.

Abstract

Integrating technology into education is crucial for enhancing the learning system. However, in practice, teachers often fail to incorporate technology into their teaching methods to maximize students' active participation duriing the learning process. Many remain reliant on traditional lecture and question-and-answer formats. This study aims to examine the effects of applying a blended learning approach. supported by a chatbot application on students' learning outcomes. This study utilizes a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, employing a pretest-posttest control group format. The study sample was made up of 108 students from three different classes, and the sample was randomly selected, comprising 73 students from classes A and B. The data collection methods included both test and non-test techniques, utilizing tools such as test questions, observation sheets, and documentation, all of which were validated and tested for reliability before the research began. The gathered data were analyzed using both descriptive statistics and inferential statistical methods. The findings of the study indicated that the control group had an average pretest score of 31.62, which increased to 54.05 in the posttest. Meanwhile, the experimental group had a pretest score of 45 and a posttest score of 76.94. Statistical testing indicated a significant effect of the blended learning method supported by the KANA chatbot application, with a value of 8.5230. In conclusion, the application of the blended learning approach with the support of the KANA chatbot application has a substantial positive influence on students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the lack of motivation and interest of students in learning Arabic, which is caused by the use of monotonous learning media and the lack of utilization of digital media. The purpose of this study is to measure students' perceptions by using Baamboozle game media on students' learning motivation in learning Arabic. The method used was a quantitative survey involving 55 respondents from several Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Serang Regency. The instrument used was a Likert questionnaire to measure students' learning motivation, and data were collected through observation and questionnaires after the implementation of the game in learning. The results showed that the use of Baamboozle game significantly increased students' learning motivation by 51% with a high positive response to the more interactive and fun learning. In addition, students feel more enthusiastic and involved in the learning process. In conclusion, the application of game-based learning media such as Baamboozle can be an effective strategy to increase students' motivation and engagement in learning Arabic, as well as creating a more dynamic learning atmosphere.

Abstract

Comparatively speaking to other nations, Indonesian society has a low level of interest in reading.The absence of a reading habit is the main cause of this low level of interest in reading.The Reading Classroom Program is one way to foster reading habits at a young age, which is necessary to address this issue.The goal of the Reading Classroom Program is to improve elementary school pupils' reading comprehension and interest.This program consists of a number of elements, such as introducing books, generating learning activities with the classroom's existing reading materials, and coming up with reading exercises that encourage students' creativity.By implementing the Reading Classroom Program, this Classroom Action Research (CAR) seeks to increase the reading interest of the students at SDN 2 Mamben Daya.At SDN 2 Mamben Daya, 15 fifthgrade students served as subjects for the two cycles of the study.Observation and interviews were used as data gathering methods, and a descriptive quantitative approach was used for analysis.An increase in students' average reading interest as evaluated by observations and interviews done during each cycle until the predefined goals were met served as the study's success indicator.The study's findings showed that SDN 2 Mamben Daya pupils' enthusiasm in reading had improved.The average observation result in the original condition prior to the intervention was 20.62%. In first cycle, this rose to 69.19%, and in second cycle, it reached 87.71%. From 15.23% in the initial condition to 55.98% in first cycle and 87.19% in second cycle, the average interview results demonstrated an increase.The adoption of the Reading Classroom Program successfully raised the reading interest of pupils at SDN 2 Mamben Daya, according to the research findings.

Abstract

This study explored the effectiveness of the group discussion method and learning media in enhancing students' understanding of the Qur'anic Studies course at STIT Palapa Nusantara. A quasi-experimental design was applied, with students divided into two groups: an experimental group that participated in group discussions supported by learning media, and a control group that followed traditional lecture-based instruction. The data were collected through pre- and post-tests. The data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics, with paired sample t-tests applied to compare pre- and post-test scores. Qualitative data were analyzed through thematic analysis, identifying key themes related to student engagement, learning collaboration, and retention. The results showed that the experimental group experienced significant improvement in their understanding, with mean scores increasing by 25 points, compared to a 7-point increase in the control group. Qualitative findings highlighted several benefits, including active student engagement, collaborative learning, and enhanced retention, all facilitated by the group discussion method and learning media. The study demonstrated that integrating these approaches fostered a deeper understanding of the material, promoted critical thinking, and improved retention. These findings provide valuable insights into how teaching strategies in Islamic education can be enhanced, emphasizing the importance of interactive and collaborative learning methods. This research contributes to the development of more effective teaching practices and provides evidence that combining group discussions with media-based learning is a promising approach for improving student outcomes in Qur'anic Studies.

Abstract

This study was conducted because of the low ability of students in writing skills (kitabah) in class VII of SMP Boarding School Daarul Barkah.Thus this study aims to obtain information about the effect of using the picture word inductive model (PWIM) strategy applied to Arabic language subjects, especially in writing learning, namely kitabah al-muwajjahah. The research methodology used is quantitative with quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. This study used two classes as research samples, namely class VII a as a control class with 15 students and class VII b as an experimental class, which numbered 16 students, with a total of 31 students. The sample used in this study used random sampling technique which was carried out randomly in the experimental class. The experimental results obtained and have been processed in the paired sample t-test show (sig < a) which is (.000 < 0.05) stating H⁰ is rejected, and Hª is accepted, indicating that student learning outcomes regarding kitabah skills using the PWIM strategy are higher than student learning outcomes using conventional learning. The conclusion of this study is that the PWIM strategy applied to Arabic language learning, especially for learning kitabah al-muwajjah, has a significant effect seen from the increase in post-test scores after the use of the PWIM strategy.

Abstract

Data-Driven Decision Making (DDDM) has become one of the most relevant approaches in the era of digitalization. The purpose of this study is to identify the potential and challenges of implementing Data-Driven Decision Making in education management in East Kutai Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational descriptive design to analyze the application of Data-Driven Decision Making (DDDM) in education management in East Kutai Regency. This study shows that the implementation of Data-Driven Decision Making (DDDM) significantly increases the effectiveness of education management in East Kutai Regency, especially in overcoming disparities between urban and rural areas. Based on the data, the teacher-student ratio in urban areas is 1:25, while in rural areas it reaches 1:50, indicating the need for redistribution of educators to reduce the gap. In addition, computer access in urban areas reaches 65%, much higher than in rural areas which is only 25%. The availability of textbooks is also better in urban areas (80%) than in rural areas (50%), while parental participation in education is higher in urban areas (75%) than in rural areas (40%). This fact shows the importance of a data-driven approach to support a more equitable allocation of educational resources. The impact of DDDM implementation is also seen in a significant improvement in educational resource managemesnt.

Abstract

All children basically need education because education allows them to identify their interests and talents. Both formal and informal institutions can foster these interests and abilities. This study aims to determine how teachers implement skill-based learning strategies and improve critical thinking skills of MT. Tangga Selebung students. Through observation, interviews, and recording, the researcher used a descriptive analysis approach to collect data for this qualitative study. Triangulation procedures were used to ensure the accuracy of the researcher's data. The data analysis procedure consisted of three steps: documentation, interviews, and observation results. The principal, BK teacher, subject and class teachers, and students acted as research informants. The research findings included the identification of four different levels of language competency through interviews. Speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Students learn to recognize numbers and do addition, subtraction, and division to understand basic concepts. Some instructors use integrative and lecture techniques to help students hone their critical thinking skills. especially the lecture style, which uses oral teaching materials to tell a story about a subject, and integrative techniques, which integrate several classes into one theme. In addition, some educators use the expository method, a teacher-centered learning approach.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the eclectic method in Arabic language teaching through the integration of Qawaid wa Tarjamah and Sam'iyah wa Bashariyah methods to enhance students' speaking and writing skills. Arabic language teaching at SMP Nurul Jadid reveals that effective learning requires a variety of methods, including the combination of several techniques that can be adjusted to the dynamics occurring in the classroom. Field practice indicates that method changes frequently occur within a single lesson to align with students' responses and needs. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using data triangulation techniques. The results of this study show that the application of the eclectic method, integrating the two approaches—Qawaid wa Tarjamah and Sam'iyah wa Bashariyah—positively impacts the improvement of students' speaking and writing skills, as well as their motivation. The eclectic method proved effective in enhancing Arabic language proficiency by providing students with the freedom to manage their own learning process, thereby increasing their sense of responsibility and intrinsic motivation to further develop their Arabic language skills. This study contributes significantly to the development of more effective language teaching methods, particularly within the Language Intensive Program (LIPS) at SMP Nurul Jadid.
