Abstract

The low level of students’ creative thinking skills in Islamic Religious Education and Character Education (PAI BP), which is still dominated by conventional teaching methods, indicates the need for innovative learning models that are more oriented toward creativity development. This study aimed to analyze the effect of a poster-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on improving students’ creative thinking skills in PAI BP. A quantitative approach was employed with a one-group pretest–posttest design, involving 26 Grade VIII students of UPT SMPN 3 Batipuh as the sample, determined using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a creative thinking test instrument that had been empirically validated and shown to be reliable (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.892), and were analyzed using a paired samples t-test. The results showed a significant increase in creative thinking skills, as indicated by the rise in the mean score from 62.42 in the pretest to 89.62 in the posttest, with a difference of 27.20 points, and a test statistic (t_hit = −12.467; sig. = 0.000) confirming the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis. These findings indicate that the poster-based PjBL model is effective in enhancing students’ creative thinking skills in PAI BP. The implications of this study suggest that this model can serve as an innovative learning alternative that not only develops cognitive aspects and creativity but also strengthens students’ collaboration, communication, and visual skills, making it highly relevant for adoption in 21st-century competence-oriented instructional practices.

Abstract

Indonesia’s low literacy and numeracy performance as reflected in the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) results requires strengthening education starting from early childhood education (Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini [PAUD]). This study aimed to analyze the implementation of a PISA-oriented PAUD curriculum in enhancing learning interest among young children. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed with teachers and learners at RA Darussalamah NWDI Praida Kroya Bagik Payung Timur, Suralaga Subdistrict, East Lombok Regency as the subjects. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation over a three-month period, then analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the integration of literacy, numeracy, and contextual learning based on everyday life can increase children’s learning interest, as reflected in their enthusiasm, active participation, and curiosity during learning activities. This study concludes that a PISA-oriented PAUD curriculum has strategic implications for improving the quality of instruction and learning interest in early childhood and can serve as a reference for the development of PAUD curricula that are more adaptive to global demands.

Abstract

The persistence of intolerance in society underscores the critical role of education in shaping tolerant attitudes, particularly within faith-based educational settings. This study aimed to analyze the constructivist approach in inclusive education and its implications for the formation of tolerant attitudes among students at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor. A qualitative approach with an ethnographic design was employed, with data collected over the course of one year through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and document study. Data were analyzed interactively through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that inclusive education at Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor is implemented through the shared life of students from diverse cultural, regional, and character backgrounds within a unified schooling and boarding system. The constructivist approach is manifested in learning and student development processes that position students as active subjects in constructing their understanding and tolerant attitudes through direct experience, social interaction, collaborative work, and reflection. Tolerance education is carried out through two models, namely direct tolerance and indirect tolerance, which operate integratively within the framework of inclusive education, thereby making tolerance not merely a norm but a consciously internalized character within the students. The study concludes that a constructivist approach within inclusive education is effective in fostering students’ tolerant attitudes in an active, reflective, and sustainable manner, and affirms that Islamic boarding schools hold strategic potential as character education spaces capable of preparing students to live harmoniously in a plural society. Abstract

Driven by the scarcity of empirical studies on specific competency determinants in the plantation industry, this study examines the impact of education and training on career advancement at PT. Asam Jawa Medan. Initial observations revealed a mismatch between employees’ educational qualifications and job requirements, as well as inconsistency in the implementation of training programs. Adopting a quantitative design, the study involved 52 respondents selected through purposive sampling, with data collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS. The results show that both education and training have a positive and significant effect on career development, and that their combined influence explains 50.5% of the variance in employees’ career growth. These findings align with established human resource management theories and confirm that enhancing the quality of education and the effectiveness of training initiatives is critical for supporting career mobility in the plantation sector. The study concludes that organizations should raise recruitment standards, strengthen technical training, and implement transparent promotion systems to better align competencies with career pathways. Theoretically, the research contributes to the human resource management literature on career development, while practically it offers guidance for HR policy refinement and identifies avenues for future research on additional determinants such as work motivation, leadership, and organizational culture.

Abstract

Strengthening parenting practices grounded in local wisdom within the traditions of the Sasambo communities in Nusa Tenggara Barat has become increasingly important amid the homogenizing influence of modern parenting models, while studies that specifically examine ethnoparenting perspectives in the aqiqah tradition across the three ethnic groups (Sasak, Samawa, and Mbojo) remain limited. This study aimed to describe the cultural practices and symbolic meanings of the aqiqah tradition as a form of locally rooted parenting among Sasambo communities. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed with participants comprising traditional leaders and community members from the three Sasambo ethnic groups. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal differences in terminology and ritual practices in each ethnic group, such as Ngurisang (Sasak), Bekuris (Samawa), and Cafi Sari, Boru, and Dore (Mbojo). Despite these variations in practice, all traditions embody religious, social, and educational values that reinforce cultural identity and child-rearing patterns grounded in local wisdom. The study concludes that the aqiqah tradition in Sasambo communities is not only a religious ritual but also functions as a medium for the internalization of values in parenting. The implications of these findings provide a foundation for developing ethnoparenting models based on local culture in early childhood education.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam, PAI) learning at SMPN 3 Lintau Buo Utara is still dominated by conventional approaches, lacks learning modules aligned with students’ needs, does not yet integrate instruction with the surrounding learning environment, and has not fully optimized the use of technology, thereby necessitating the development of more contextual and interactive teaching materials. This study aimed to develop an environment-based PAI and Budi Pekerti e-module to support environment-based learning. The research employed a research and development method using the ASSURE model with eighth-grade students at SMPN 3 Lintau Buo Utara. Needs analysis data were collected using interview guidelines and analyzed with the Miles and Huberman technique, while validity test data were obtained through validation sheets and analyzed using Aiken’s V formula. Practicality test data consisted of quantitative data collected using student response questionnaires and analyzed with the Degree of Achievement formula, as well as qualitative data obtained through interviews and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman technique. The needs analysis results indicated that an environment-based PAI and Budi Pekerti e-module was highly necessary to develop. The resulting e-module demonstrated a high level of validity, with scores of 0.85 for media validation and 0.92 for content validation, and very high practicality with a score of 93.7 from 45 respondents, further supported by interview findings showing that the e-module was very practical for use in instruction. Accordingly, the environment-based PAI and Budi Pekerti e-module developed in this study is deemed highly valid and highly practical for implementation in classroom learning activities.
