Abstract

The phenomenon of celebrity appearance which is now hitting Hindus is an empirical reality whose direction of development is not easily rejected, moreover, to avoid. In connection with the phenomenon of the appearance of celebrities of Hindus, it is quite clear that the actions or behavior of the people by making the biological body as a media of aesthetization in the form of celebrity appearances laden with materialist-capitalistconsumerism (objects, money and consumptive style) with the aim of hedonists (enjoying pleasure) mundane). The era of modernization and globalization with its materialist consumerism lifestyle seems to have hypnotized Hindus to submit to all that is modern or posmo, even though it would actually lead to hedonism which only views life to enjoy solitary pleasures. This is the basis of the reduction in the ethics of life, not only in the world now but also in the world of noetic, especially those related to the ethics of religious life and the decreasing level of obedience or obedience to follow ethical norms or rules that must be used as guidelines or guidelines behave.

Abstract

Hinduism is a religion that has given birth to a very complex culture in the field of astronomy, agricultural science, philosophy and other sciences. Likewise from this culture gave birth to worship facilities in the form of ancient relics, one of which was Lingga. Lingga is a symbol of fertility offered by the Indus valley civilization which is mainly associated with Shiva worship. Lingga can mean the manifestation of Lord Shiva which is described as Phalus which is usually placed above Yoni who describes men and women (Lingga-Yoni). The problem examined in this paper is how the function and meaning of Linga according to Hinduism in Indonesia. To answer these problems, data collection methods are used; literature studies, documents and observations and assisted with Religion and Symbol theory. Based on data data, it can be seen that the Lingga function is a religious function, namely strengthening, stabilizing Srddha Bhakti Hindus, then the function of fertility is by worshiping Lord Shiva through the media Lingga to invoke fertility on agriculture. Besides that, through worship Lingga has religious significance and symbolic meaning because Lingga is viewed from the religion as a symbol of worship before Lord Shiva. Lingga is believed to have magical powers so that Hindus draw closer to the presence of Ida Sang Hyang Widhi through the Lingga worship media in religious ceremonies such as piodalan in the Kahyangan Tiga / Jagat Temple. Symbolic meaning is Lingga as the symbol of Purusa (Akasa) and earth (Yoni) symbol of Pradana

Abstract

Today's religious life has entered a period of crisis, where 'loyalty' to religion has begun to lead to an exclusive ideology that can threaten diversity. In addition, religion also began to be used as a 'political weapon' to attack its opponents. This is a big challenge for religious people in social life. The role of religious leaders is highly expected in the effort to restore religion to its 'spirit', as a 'shade' of humanity so that harmony can be realized. The harmony of life is one of the realization of religious teachings to achieve the highest goal of life, namely eternal peace, which in Hindu teachings is called Moksa. There are various concepts offered in an effort to care for harmony in the Hindu view, such as the concept of universal brotherhood (Lokasamgraha), Vasudaiva Kutumbhakam, Tat Tvam Asi, and Tri Hita Karana. In addition, efforts can be made in caring for harmony in life, namely by reducing religious radicalism notions with humanismreligious values. The hope, with the 'enlightenment', religious people can understand the nature of diversity in a plural environment, so that harmony of life will undoubtedly be realized.
