Objective: This study aims to explore and implement the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model in music learning at SMA Negeri 2 Mranggen. The TGT model, which is part of a cooperative learning strategy, is expected to increase active participation, collaboration between students, and conceptual understanding in music art learning. Method: This study uses a quantitative approach and a quasi-experimental research type. The sample in this study consists of three classes, namely class XI G, H and I. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data collection used includes tests, questionnaires, and observations. The instruments to be used include tests, questionnaires, and observation sheets. Data analysis techniques in this study with descriptive analysis, validity tests include expert validation and instrument trial validation, reliability tests, normality tests and t-tests. Results and Discussion: The results of the study showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes, the initial validity value obtained a result of 0.254 or 25.4 included in the (Low) category and the final validity result obtained a result of 0.864 or 86.4 included in the (very high) category. From these results, it is known that the difference between the pretest and posttest results is 0.610 or 61.0 which indicates that the increase in student motivation and learning outcomes is in the high category. Conclusion: learning music arts with the use of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) learning model can increase student motivation and learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 2 Mranggen by 61.0. These findings provide a practical contribution to the development of active learning models in the context of arts education in secondary schools, especially in music learning, and open up opportunities for the application of similar models in other schools.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to describe the effectiveness of a singing-based approach in introducing numbers and letters to early childhood learners at TK Melati Purwakarta. Considering that early childhood cognitive development is characterized by symbolic and imaginative thinking, this period is regarded as a golden age for the introduction of early literacy skills. Method: This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and documentation of learning activities. Results and Discussion: The findings indicate that the singing-based approach enhances children’s ability to recognize numbers and letters in an enjoyable and meaningful way. Songs combined with body movements and visual media were found to improve memory, concentration, and active engagement in the learning process. Teachers implemented learning activities systematically, beginning with the selection of theme-appropriate songs and continuing through to the evaluation of children’s development. In addition to cognitive benefits, this approach also contributed positively to the development of children’s musicality and social-emotional skills. Conclusion: The singing-based approach represents an effective and appropriate alternative teaching method in early childhood education, particularly for introducing numbers and letters in a fun and meaningful manner.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the creative strategies employed by Purwa Caraka Music Studio (PCMS) in developing its music education institution and to analyze the music education network that has been established and expanded across Indonesia. Method: This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, conducted through document analysis, observation, and interviews with PCMS instructors, students, and alumni. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and inductive conclusion drawing techniques. Results and Discussion:The findings indicate that PCMS’s creative strategies are reflected in the implementation of fun learning, a flexible curriculum, diversification of musical genres, regular concert programs, and the use of digital media for online learning and promotion. In addition, PCMS has successfully developed a network of more than 78 branches across Indonesia, often referred to as the “octopus phenomenon,” which has expanded public access to non-formal music education. This network functions not only structurally but also as a social and cultural ecosystem, supported by alumni contributions in the entertainment, education, and creative industries. Conclusion: Thus, PCMS plays a significant role in supporting the development of musical creativity within Indonesian society. The institution serves not only as a place for music learning but also as a center for character development, creativity cultivation, and a cultural agent that strengthens the national music ecosystem.
