This research approach refers to the concept of vocalization and the choir itself with the support of other relevant concepts. Methods: The research method uses a qualitative method with descriptive explanation. Data sources come from observation, interviews, documentation studies, and relevant literature studies in providing a comprehensive perspective. Result and Discussion: The results of this study indicate that the vocalization method has several steps that must be taken, but in Smanda Choir SMAN 2 Kota Serang there are findings that the vocalization method used is divided into four steps, namely, breathing, mumbling, intonation intervals (arpeggio) and vocal formation. This is based on the reference order with the provisions set by the trainer. The main contribution of this study lies in the identification and documentation of the vocalization method structure specifically adapted by the Smanda Choir coach-an area that has not been widely explored in previous studies. This research also offers a contextual perspective on how the vocalization method is adjusted based on its effectiveness for students within the setting of a secondary school extracurricular program. Conclusion: This study can be concluded that the vocalization method in Smanda Choir has a process and order that is tailored to the needs based on the techniques and methods developed, while the researcher analyzes the method based on what the trainer does with the selection of vocalization method points according to the needs and procedures that are adjusted based on the effectiveness of the students.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of interpersonal intelligence on students’ learning outcomes in music education, particularly in ensemble learning, among Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Sragen. Interpersonal intelligence is regarded as an essential ability in collaborative music learning, which requires cooperation, communication, and coordination among students. Method: This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The participants consisted of 36 Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Sragen. Data were collected through an interpersonal intelligence questionnaire, observations of ensemble learning activities, supporting interviews, and documentation of students’ learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression to determine the extent of the influence of interpersonal intelligence on music learning outcomes. Results and Discussion: The results of the analysis revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant influence of interpersonal intelligence on ensemble music learning outcomes. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.589 shows that interpersonal intelligence contributed 58.9% to the variance in students’ music learning outcomes. These findings suggest that students with higher interpersonal intelligence tend to collaborate more effectively, communicate more efficiently, and adjust their roles within ensemble groups, resulting in more optimal musical performances. Conclusion: Interpersonal intelligence has a significant influence on music learning outcomes in ensemble-based learning. Therefore, the development of interpersonal intelligence should be emphasized in collaborative music learning strategies to enhance students’ learning outcomes and the quality of social interaction in music education.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to describe the implementation of Smart Apps Creator (SAC)–based interactive learning media in supporting choir learning at the junior high school (SMP) level. SAC enables teachers to develop interactive materials integrating images, videos, and audio to foster student engagement and active learning in music instruction. Method: This research employed a qualitative descriptive design. The participants included music teachers, students, and school stakeholders (e.g., the principal). Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis of learning materials developed using SAC. The study was preceded by a brief literature review to frame key issues related to interactive media use in schools. Results and Discussion: The findings indicate that SAC-assisted learning media was implemented to deliver choir materials in a more interactive format, helping teachers organize content into accessible modules and supporting students in following vocal practice through audio-visual guidance. SAC features were perceived to increase students’ attention, learning motivation, and participation during choir activities. The implementation also revealed practical challenges, particularly differences in teachers’ digital readiness and the need for consistent instructional design to align SAC content with learning objectives. Conclusion: SAC-based interactive media is a feasible approach for enhancing choir learning in junior high schools by promoting engaging, structured, and multimedia-supported instruction. Continued teacher support and design guidance are recommended to optimize its classroom impact.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to explore the role of musical collaboration in fostering social practices within music classrooms and to identify the factors that influence the success of such collaboration. Method: Employing a qualitative approach through interviews and observations, the research investigates how collaboration in music classes contributes to social dynamics among students. The data were collected through interviews conducted in the music studio at Campus A, University of Lampung. Results and Discussion: The findings indicate that collaboration plays a significant role in building team cohesion, enhancing interpersonal skills, and strengthening students’ social character. Collaborative activities, such as arranging songs, vocal and instrumental rehearsals, group discussions to understand music theory, and participation in traditional music practices like the Lampung bronze ensemble, encourage open communication, mutual respect, empathy, and a shared sense of responsibility. Nevertheless, the collaborative process also faces challenges, including differences in individual abilities, varying levels of commitment, and difficulties in unifying creative ideas. Key factors for successful collaboration include effective communication, fair distribution of roles, and a supportive group dynamic. Conclusion: collaboration in music education not only enhances students’ musical competence but also shapes them into cooperative, reflective, and adaptable individuals within both social and professional environments.
