Abstract

Programmable logic controller (PLC) is a microprocessor used to automate industry processes such as controlling a factory's engine. As a candidate in electrical engineering degree must be able to assemble and arrange PLC control program so that later can compete in industrial world. Therefore PLC is one of the compulsory courses that must be pursued. But in learning PLC encountered obstacles that students feel less interested in learning that they need to understand the language of logic, and require them to assemble the series of automation with inadequate equipment, so we think Simulation learning method is a learning method can improve the students' understanding of the situation or problem better. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of simulation learning method on students with high and low creativity level in PLC learning. The method used in this research is an experimental method. Result of this study is simulation learning method can improve learning result of PLC, but not maximal. PLC learning requires real work practices so as to provide accurate knowledge to every student.Based on these conclusions, the suggestion in PLC learning can use a learning method that uses work practices as a learning tool of PLC

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between classroom management and student achievement in the Building Engineering Education Department, The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Manado, and look for obstacles or obstacles that inhibit the success of student learning while looking for efforts to overcome these problems. This research method is correlational research. The results of a simple linear regression analysis of the variables of classroom management and student achievement in the Building Egineering Education Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Manado obtained the equation of the regression line ỷ = 34.80 + 0.42 X, which illustrates that if class management increases by one unit, student achievement will increase amounting to 0.361 units. Similarly, the results obtained that the regression model is good enough, because based on the model deviation test shows that the deviation is not significant at the 5% test level in this case F (Calculate) = 0.73 <F (Table) = 2.43. Thus, the regression equation above can be used to estimate or predict learning achievement (Y) if class management (X) is known. The results of testing the hypothesis, it is evident that the classroom management variables (X) have a positive and significant effect on student learning achievement at the Building Egineering Education at Universitas Negeri Manado. Based on these results, there is a significant and positive relationship between classroom management and student achievement in the Building Egineering Education Department students at Universitas Negeri Manado. Keywords: Classroom Management; Students; Learning Achievement

Abstract

This research was conducted with the purpose to develop students’ reading comprehension of descriptive text through question and answer technique. This study is classified as quantitative through pre-experimental design with one group pre-test and post-test design.  The population of this research is the students of SMP Negeri 3 Ratahan. It was limited only to the second year studens. There were 30 students. The data were collected through test. The first test is pre-test, the teacher intends to know the students’ reading comprehension without using question and answer technique. The second test is post-test in which the teacher has used question and answer technique in teaching reading comprehension. The result shows that the scores of the students in post-test are higher then those in pre-test.  This is shown by the mean score of pre-test which is 5.5 and mean score of post-test which is 7.8 Keywords: Question and Answer Technique; Reading Comprehension

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of the use of computer assisted learning media on the learning outcomes of event themes in the lives of Class V elementary school students. This study uses an experimental method with bound variables (Y) is the result of learning the theme of events in the lives of students of class V SD, and the independent variable (X) is the use of computer-assisted learning media. The research was conducted at SD Negeri 2 Tataaran in October 2018. Learning outcomes data were analyzed using the t test, but previously tested normality and homogeneity as a prerequisite test. The results of this study conclude that there is an influence of the use of computer assisted learning media on learning outcomes of students in Class V SD which causes differences in achievement of learning outcomes, where the results of the theme "events in life" groups of students who use computer assisted learning media are higher than groups of students who do not use computer-assisted learning media.

Abstract

This research in intended to find out the effectiveness of small group discussion technique in improving the students’s speaking ability. It was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Ratahan in which one class of the first-year students of the school was the sample. The data of the research were obtained by using test in the form of pre-test and post-test. The result showed that the scores of the post-test were higher than that of the pre-test. The mean of the post-test is 8.2 and the mean of the pre-test is 6.7. Teaching speaking skill by using small group discussion technique can improve the students’ ability in speaking. Small group discussion technique can give the students opportunity to practice their language. In small group discussion, they can express their ideas and thought freely. It will be better for English teacher to vary the techniques of teaching to avoid boredom that might appear to the students. Keywords: Speaking abiliy; Technique;  Small group discussion

Abstract

Early childhood education is very important for the child's future.[1] early childhood is the age of gold where the development of children into a period of development is very decisive. The mix of primary colors (Red, yellow, blue), will become secondary color, and this is generally not understood by kindergarten children. To introduce the secondary color requires a method of learning that shows directly how to obtain it, such as the method of demonstration learning. The purpose of this study is to improve the ability to recognize the secondary color in children with the method of demonstration learning. This research uses Class Action Research method. The subjects of this study were students of group B kindergarten GMIM Hosiana Tumatangtang amounted to 14 children. The results obtained through two cycles with the application of demonstration methods can improve the ability to introduce secondary color. Keywords : Introduce Secondary Color, Demonstration Method.
