Abstract

Accurate natural gas demand planning is a critical factor in maintaining the operational reliability of electricity companies. Discrepancies between planned and actual gas consumption, caused by fluctuations in generation load and dispatch decisions by P2B (Load Dispatch Center), highlight the need for an appropriate forecasting method. This study aims to forecast natural gas demand using the Holt–Winters Additive method based on historical gas consumption data from November 2023 to October 2025. The research adopts a quantitative approach with time series analysis and is processed using Minitab software. Model accuracy is evaluated using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) indicator. The results show that the optimal parameters α = 0.2, β = 0.6, and γ = 0 produce a MAPE value of 5%, which is classified as very good. The forecasting results can serve as a basis for more efficient gas supply planning and support the reliability of power plant operations.

Abstract

The Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) is one of the most popular variants of VRP. In CVRP, only the mass of objects to be transported is considered, typically assuming they are of the same type. Evolutionary Algorithm (EA) is a metaheuristic that can be applied to various optimization problems, including CVRP. Solver is an Excel Add-In that is capable of running EA. With the ability of Evolutionary Algorithm to tackle CVRP and the Solver which is capable of running EA, it can be concluded that solving CVRP can be done using the Solver. For instance A-n32-k5, the solution generated by Solver with EA is 824 or 5.1% longer than the Best Known Solution.

Abstract

The increase in domestic activities within industrial operations can lead to higher wastewater generation, which may degrade aquatic environmental quality if not managed properly. Evaluating the performance of domestic Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) is therefore essential to ensure treatment effectiveness and compliance with applicable effluent standards. This study aims to assess the performance of a domestic WWTP based on effluent quality and pollutant load calculations. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach, with wastewater samples collected at the WWTP outlet using the grab sampling method. The analyzed parameters included pH, biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), total suspended solids (TSS), oil and grease, ammonia, total coliform, and temperature. The results indicate that all effluent parameters met the domestic wastewater quality standards stipulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number 68 of 2016.

Abstract

The energy crisis and increasing environmental pollution due to used oil waste encourage the need to develop innovative alternative energy, especially in remote areas where it is difficult to access conventional fuel. This research aims to design a stove fueled by used oil as an alternative energy source that is environmentally friendly and economical. The stove design was carried out using AutoCAD software with a Design for Assembly (DFA) approach to produce a design that was efficient and easy to assemble. Test results show that the stove is capable of reaching combustion temperatures between 570–600°C with an average thermal efficiency of 5.1%. From an economic aspect, using this stove can save household energy costs by up to 30% with relatively low production costs. Apart from that, using used oil as fuel can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 90% and reduce the potential for environmental pollution. A case study in Kiloma Village, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi, shows that this technology can be accepted and used effectively by the community.

Abstract

During drilling operations, when the reservoir zone is penetrated, the rock formation generally has high porosity and permeability, which can cause lost circulation. To overcome this problem, a bridging agent in the form of calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) is used because it is acid soluble and can temporarily seal the formation pores. Cuttlebone is known to contain a high amount of CaCO₃, so it has potential as an alternative bridging agent. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of CaCO₃ derived from cuttlebone as a bridging agent in drilling fluid. The evaluation was carried out through filtration tests and observation of mud cake characteristics. The test results show a low filtrate volume of 4.8–6 mL within 30 minutes and created thin and compact mud cake with an average thickness of 0.398-0,794 mm. These results indicate that CaCO₃ from cuttlebone is effective in sealing formation pores and preventing lost circulation in the productive zone.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of four main carton packaging production machines (slitter, slotter, die-cutter/pond, and board-to-board laminator) at a Provincial Technical Unit in East Java using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) within the Total Productive Maintenance framework. A quantitative descriptive approach was applied based on historical data from October 2025, including scheduled production time, downtime, output, defects, and ideal cycle time. OEE was calculated through Availability, Performance, and Quality components. The results show that average monthly OEE ranged from 18.75% to 32.39% when all days were considered, mainly due to several days with available time but zero output, which sharply reduced Performance and Quality. In contrast, on actual production days (output > 0), Availability remained high (94.52%–96.17%) and Quality was excellent (98.06%–100.00%). The die-cutter achieved an average OEE of 86.38%, meeting the world-class benchmark, while other machines ranged from 65.22% to 75.01%, indicating improvement opportunities in Performance.
