Abstract

This study aims to identify potential hazards, their sources, and the level of occupational accident risk in the tire retreading process at CV. Kurnia Agung Buayan using the Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) method. This method systematically identifies possible deviations in work activities and evaluates their impacts. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis found 13 potential work accidents categorized as 1 extreme, 4 high, 5 moderate, and 3 low risks. The main risks include accidents caused by machine fragments, cutter use without PPE, and direct contact with high-temperature machines. Recommended controls include the use of PPE, OHS training, preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and improvements in workplace layout and conditions. The results are expected to serve as a reference for improving the company’s safety system, reducing accidents, and increasing employee productivity.

Abstract

The increasing number of working mothers has driven the need for support services that can balance the demands of work and caregiving. This study aims to analyze the contribution of eduplay services to the work-life balance (WLB) of working mothers and map the business models of service providers using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and the Collaborative Business Model Matrix (CBMX). The research approach is qualitative and descriptive, using interviews with working mothers, eduplay managers, and direct observation. The results show that eduplay services play a significant role in improving WLB by providing safe, flexible, and educational play spaces, thereby reducing the burden of daily caregiving. The BMC analysis describes the value structure, operations, and customer relationships that strengthen the service's position. The CBMX integration highlights strategic collaborations between parents, local MSMEs, schools, government, and companies in creating a sustainable service ecosystem. This study confirms that a collaborative approach can strengthen the sustainability of MSMEs in the eduplay sector while providing social impacts for working families, especially mothers.

Abstract

The drilling fluid system is a crucial component in drilling operations. Problems commonly occur when penetrating formations containing reactive clay or shale, which may affect wellbore stability. Drilling fluid functions to maintain wellbore conditions; therefore, chemical additives are required to improve mud properties. This study aims to evaluate the mud properties of Water-Based Mud of the KCl Polymer Polyamine type through testing at original temperature, 200°F, 250°F, and 300°F. The measured parameters include mud weight, pH, rheology, API filtrate, solid content, MBT, K+, and Cl-. At 300°F, the rheological values did not meet the specification, requiring additional XCD Polymer of 0.1–0.4 ppb. The results indicate that adding 0.3 ppb XCD Polymer produces suitable rheological properties at high temperature. Mud preparation was performed by mixing and testing using mud balance, rheometer, API filtrate press, retort kit, and digital pH meter with Bentonite, NaOH, Starch, PAC-LV, Soltex, CaCO3, XCD, Barite, KCl-Polymer, and Polyamine.

Abstract

Lifting activities in rice milling businesses are still largely done manually. This was found at the Barokah Rice Mill in Pucang, Secang, Magelang. Workers lift using three lifting positions: front carry, back carry, and overhead carry. Based on the REBA analysis, the overhead carry position scored slightly safer. At the initial lifting position, all three positions scored very high. However, once the load is lifted and carried, scores begin to decline. The overhead carry position showed the largest drop in scores. The exposure level in the QEC analysis was 57%, indicating that lifting movements need to be modified.

Abstract

Zeolites are promising adsorbents for CO₂ capture due to their high surface area, thermal stability, and cost-effectiveness. Their performance can be enhanced through chemical modifications such as amine impregnation, cation exchange, and hydrophobic surface grafting, enabling improved selectivity and resistance to moisture. However, operational challenges remain, including water competition, regeneration energy demand, and cyclic stability under industrial conditions. Strategies like guard beds, hydrophobic zeolites, and hybrid systems are being developed to overcome these limitations. Zeolite-based adsorption offers a sustainable pathway for reducing CO₂ emissions and advancing low-carbon technologies.

Abstract

Drilling mud plays an important role in drilling operations, one of which is controlling filtration loss, which can affect formation stability. One common additive used to reduce filtration loss is Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC). This study aims to examine the effect of CMC purity synthesized from bagasse on the filtration loss value in drilling mud. Bagasse as an additive is processed through several chemical stages to produce CMC with a certain level of purity. CMC purity characteristics are carried out to determine purity and then compare performance with commercial CMC with concentrations of 2, 4, 6, and 8 grams. This test was carried out using the standard API filtrate test for 30 minutes. The results showed that increasing the concentration of CMC and commercial CMC reduced the filtrate loss value. CMC from bagasse with a purity of 99.64% showed excellent results and the results for filtration loss testing showed that it could be 14-10.8 ml, mud cake thickness of 1.37-1.54 mm, density of 8.53-8.59 ppg.

Abstract

This study analyzes the development strategy of PT Tumbuh Bersama Soyanara, a fresh soy milk distributor operating through a mobile partnership model, using SWOT analysis integrated with IFE-EFE-IE matrices. A qualitative single case study approach was employed, involving in-depth interviews with the CEO/Founder, three-day participatory observation of five partners’ operations, and internal document analysis. The findings reveal that the company is positioned in Cell V (Hold and Maintain) of the IE Matrix (IFE score 2.34; EFE score 2.43), indicating that internal weaknesses—manual recording systems, weak FIFO enforcement causing 8–12% waste, managerial response delays, and service quality inconsistencies—have not been adequately offset by institutional strengths. In response, a three-phase strategic framework is proposed: (1) operational excellence through digital transformation (months 0–6), (2) intensive market penetration via B2B partnerships and product portfolio optimization (months 6–12), and (3) customer intelligence leveraging habit-based personalization and payday-optimized bundling (months 12–24). Digital infrastructure functions as a governance mechanism that reduces information asymmetry and agency costs, thereby transforming operational weaknesses into sustainable competitive advantages.

Abstract

Oil palm fronds are an agricultural waste with potential application as a raw material for activated carbon due to their lignocellulosic content, which includes cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, enabling their function as an adsorbent. In this study, oil palm fronds were carbonized by pyrolysis at a temperature of 350°C, size-reduced to 100 mesh, and subsequently activated using a 0.1 M H₂SO₄ solution for 3 hours, then drying by oven at 70°C. 100 mL of the Siak River sample was added with 3 grams of activated carbon for the adsorption process, then shaken every 20 minutes for 3 hours. Turbidity analysis was conducted using a turbidimeter. The results indicated that the lowest turbidity values were obtained in the morning, namely 16.8 NTU at the upper section and 21.7 NTU at the lower section. This is attributed to the minimal level of community activities around the Siak River during the morning period.

Abstract

Traffic accidents remain a global challenge, with WHO reporting high mortality rates among individuals aged 5–29 years. In Indonesia, accident trends also show a consistent increase, with an average rise of 6.90% per year from 2019 to 2023, predominantly involving motorcycle riders. This condition highlights the importance of cognitive factors, situation awareness (SA), which plays a role in recognizing, understanding, and predicting events while riding. This study aims to investigate the SA levels of motorcycle riders based on riding experience, age, and time of day using Situation Present Assessment Method (SPAM). This study involves laboratory research and uses primary data in quantitative. The findings indicate that younger and less experienced riders exhibit lower SA levels, and that SA performance at night is lower than in the morning. These results recommend the need for safety training programs that focus on SA development, the preparation of simulation-based educational modules, and the establishment of minimum SA standards for obtaining a driving license.

Abstract

This study examines how the Desa/Kelurahan Berseri Program, regulated by East Java Governor Regulation No. 56 of 2023, is implemented in Betiting Village, Gresik. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the existing conditions and develop a strategy for upgrading the category from Pratama to Madya using gap identification and SWOT analysis. Using a descriptive-evaluative approach and official 2025 assessment data, the results show that although the Pratama status has been achieved with a sufficient foundation, as an effort to upgrade the category from Pratama to Madya, the study suggests methods such as intensive household assistance, program replication, and optimization of communal wastewater treatment plants.
