Abstract

PT. ABC is a manufacturing company engaged in shovel production and experiences overstock problems in wooden stick inventory as the main raw material for shovel handles. The ending inventory increased from 3,900 units in January 2025 to 28,273 units in December 2025, while warehouse capacity was only 20,000 units. This condition caused high storage costs and risk of raw material damage. This study aims to analyze the inventory condition of wooden sticks and determine the optimal inventory control policy using the Silver-Meal method. The research used a descriptive quantitative approach with demand, production, ordering cost, holding cost, and warehouse capacity data during January–December 2025. The results showed that the Silver-Meal method produced a more efficient lot size than the current company policy, thereby minimizing inventory costs and reducing raw material overstock in the warehouse.

Abstract

UD. Dandang Cap Banteng is an aluminum household appliance manufacturing industry that experiences problems in the form of Work In Process (WIP) accumulation and workload imbalance between work stations. This study aims to determine the level of production efficiency and design a production line balance using the Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) method. The study was conducted on the production process of 32-sized rice steamers using the stopwatch time study and Line balancing methods. The results showed that the total standard production time was 1539 seconds and there was a bottleneck  in the assembly process. After implementing the RPW method, 5 work stations were obtained with a Line efficiency of 89% and a balance delay of 11%, thus reducing the accumulation of WIP and smoothing the production flow. This study shows that the implementation of Line balancing using the RPW method can improve the efficiency of the production line in the company.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is an export furniture manufacturing company experiencing recurring downtime on Panel Saw and Spindle machines during July–December 2025, resulting in delays in product delivery. This study aims to measure machine effectiveness using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method and determine critical components through Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) based on Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The results show that the OEE values of the Panel Saw and Spindle machines are 84.3% and 88.3%, respectively. The dominant losses are caused by reduced speed losses and equipment failure. RCM analysis identifies v-belt and bearing components as critical components with the highest Risk Priority Number (RPN). The preventive maintenance strategy designed based on MTBF and MTTR values is expected to reduce downtime, improve machine availability, and minimize delays in export product delivery.

Abstract

Suboptimal production facility placement is often the root of inefficiency problems, ranging from unsmooth material flow to inflated operational costs. This study aims to redesign the production line Layout of the chair division at PT XYZ using the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) approach. Data were collected through field observations and various analytical tools such as From To Chart, Priority Scale Table, Activity Relationship Chart which were then verified through FlexSim simulation with quite significant results. The new Layout succeeded in reducing material movement distance from 1,042.51 meters to 760.64 meters (down 27.04%), speeding up movement time from 2,578.38 seconds to 1,901.60 seconds (27.04% efficiency), and reducing material handling costs from Rp2,767,220.62 to Rp2,141,482.78 or by 22.61%. These findings prove that the structured rearrangement of production facilities is able to encourage workflow efficiency and smooth production processes as a whole at PT XYZ.

Abstract

Consistent production target shortfalls are a critical indicator of work system inefficiency in manufacturing. PT Romi Violeta recorded Final Assembling output for the Ridge Table product at only 95% of target on average during September–December 2025, with a cumulative deficit of 75 units. This study aimed to identify root causes through: (1) Stopwatch Time Study to establish standard time and output, (2) Work Load Analysis (WLA) to measure workload distribution across 14 operators, and (3) the IFRC questionnaire to assess fatigue levels. WLA results revealed that 5 of 14 operators were in overload condition (N > 1,10), acting as the primary assembly line bottleneck. The proposed remedy—adding 2 mobile helper workers—is projected to normalize workload distribution and guarantee stable target achievement of 7 units/day per operator with no bottleneck risk.

Abstract

UD. Lestari Jaya Selalu is a company engaged in paper bag production and experiences overstock problems due to the amount of finished goods inventory exceeding warehouse capacity. This condition causes increased storage costs and the risk of company losses. This study aims to determine the optimal method for planning and controlling raw material requirements and analyzing losses due to overstock. The method used is Material Requirement Planning (MRP) with the lot sizing technique Lot-for-Lot (LFL), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and Period Order Quantity (POQ). Demand forecasting is carried out using the Linear Trend Line Model and Exponential Smoothing with Trend methods. The results show that the Linear Trend Line Model has the lowest forecasting error rate. In addition, the LFL method produces the lowest total inventory cost of Rp20,748,000 for paper bag products measuring 25x30 and 20x25. The LFL method is considered effective in adjusting raw material requirements and reducing the risk of overstock, thereby increasing the company's operational efficiency.

Abstract

CV. ABP Mandiri is a manufacturing company that produces motorcycle spare parts, particularly swingarm components. The company’s main problem is the absence of standardized working time and inefficient work methods, causing production targets to not be achieved optimally. This study aims to analyze the physical workload level of operators using the Cardiovascular Load (CVL) method in the production process at CV. ABP Mandiri. The CVL method is used to determine the level of work fatigue based on measurements of resting heart rate and working heart rate of operators at each production workstation. Research data were obtained through field observations and direct heart rate measurements during work activities. Based on the results of the study using the CVL method, the operators’ workload level was categorized as low to moderate. The welding process had the highest workload with a CVL value of 53%. Therefore, improvements in the work system, rest time arrangements, and the application of ergonomics are needed to reduce work fatigue and improve operator productivity.
