Abstract

Nyepi is a Hindu?s holy day which is celebrated by the Balinese to commemorate the new year Çaka. Nyepi is very uniquecelebration because it is celebrated by eliminating all routines. Nyepi as a religious tradition and ritual can make a real contribution to the preservation of nature. The series of Nyepi ceremonies starts from melasti, nyejer, tawur kesanga, Nyepi day and ends with ngembak geni. The essence of the celebration of the Nyepi Holy Day is Catur Brata Penyepian consisting of: amati geni (not light a fire), amati karya (not working), amati lelungan (not traveling), and amati lelanguan (not eating and enjoying entertainment). At a higher level, Catur Brata Penyepian leads Hindus to hone their quality of self by controlling the inner flames of lust, eliminating physical work to increase spiritual work, increase the inner race, and not fixating on the pleasures of the world. With this understanding, a series of Nyepi ceremonies can be used as a means of discovering true truth within oneself, such as the teachings of yoga. The Astangga Yoga concept presents eight stages of yoga namely yama, nyama, ?sana, pr?n?y?ma, praty?h?ra, dh?rana, dhy?na and sam?dhi. Astangga Yoga has been applied in the implementation of the Nyepi Holy Day series by clearing the senses to achieve true truth. The teachings of yoga dissolve in Nyepi Holy Day ceremonial activities which are carried out earnestly and wholeheartedly.

Abstract

The concentration of learning plays an important role in the learning process. However, with the development of Science and Technology at this time, the concentration of student learning is not necessarily owned by students. Concentration of mind is a state of learning that requires calm, comfort, someone?s attention in understanding the content of the lesson faced. When a student is not able to focus on the lesson being obtained, students will not be able to concentrate, so students will experience forgetfulness in the subjects being obtained. One training that is considered capable of training mind concentration is yoga. Yoga is part of Hindu philosophy, besides the teachings of yoga listed in the Patanjali Yogasutra are also found in Indian philosophy, Sad Darsana. Both in the teachings of Patanjali and Sad Darsana, both of them fully explain the eight stages of self-control called Astanggayoga. Astanggayoga consists of, yama, nyama, asanas, pranayama, pratyahara, darana, dyana and samadhi in Sarasvati? (2002).

Abstract

The well-known breathing techniques teach how to activate, stimulate energy that makes a person feel calm, relaxed, and comfortable. The purpose of pranayama is to reduce the speed of breathing / slow down breathing, Prana will be calm with a slow / slow breathing process. The mind will calm down, When breathing activity decreases, the activity of the mind will decrease, Between mind and prana are the senses.
