Abstract

Tat?ng?r occupies a very important role in Balinese usadha. Although not exactly the same, Tat?ng?r has similarities with diagnosis in medical treatment. In Bali there are various ways to diagnose both those that originate from oral tradition and text tradition. Sometimes between one healer and another healer has a different way to detect the patient's disease. A healer learns the diagnosis from reading traditional medical books (lontar usadha), learning from a teacher, or discovering it based on his experience.Sometimes a balian is able to detect disease through ways that are not understood by general logic, even his own reason. This phenomenon is known in Bali as a horn. Of course, how to detect this kind of disease is very difficult to teach others. Given the variety of ways of diagnosing diseases in the Balinese usadha, studies in this field can be done to the widest possible range of perspectives.

Abstract

The main purpose of this work is to conduct an investigation deep into the truth that reaches the step when someone becomes wise and mature to decide from all karma. The Chāndogya Upaniṣad text has been chosen to be studied in this study because this literature clearly explains the duḥkha conception. The concept of duḥkha in the Chāndogya Upaniṣad is a state of the soul that is materially bound to the physical body. When the soul is bound to the senses materially, it causes billions of desires to come out. All boundaries of these desires will throw the soul into the depths of grief (duḥkha). The way to let go of the duḥkha based on the Chāndogya Upaniṣad by understanding the atman which covers the universe, will experience unlimited happiness. Truly unlimited God is He transcends all that is. Thus Chandogya Upanisad encourages everyone to know and appreciate the true nature of the self, to be released from Dukha.

Abstract

The text of Dewa Ruci tells about the journey of the character Bhima in carrying out his swadarma as a student of Guru Drona to fulfill the task of finding tirtha amerta pawitra. From the story contained in Dewa Ruci?s text, it has a different or contradictory phenomenon between Bhima-Drona and tirtha amerta pawitra. Thus a more in-depth study is needed of the religiosity of Bhima?s figure on his journey in the literary work of Dewa Ruci from the point of view of Hindu Theology. Based on this description, in this study Bhima?s character in the Dewa Ruci Text as the object of research, entitled ?Religiosity Bhima in Dewa Ruci Text (Study of Hindu Theology). The results of the study obtained in this study, that the religiosity of Bhima?s figure is reflected in Bhima?s journey which is a process of self-control and surrender. In addition, the journey of Bhima?s figure also reflects the holy journey which purifies him so that he is able to meet Hyang Dewa Ruci, in other words Bhima?s journey is a form of thirtayatra. As well as other theological teachings found in Dewa Ruci?s Textis the concept of pramana as a concept that supports living beings. By knowing this knowledge, it is hoped that Bhima as a depiction of humans can reach moxartham Jagadhitaya.

Abstract

Konsep Prawerti dan Niwerti merupakan jalan atau sadhana untuk mewujudkan rasa bhakti kehadapan Tuhan, dimana Prawerti dilakukan dalam bentuk Tapa, Yadnya dan Kirti sedangkan Niwerti dilaksanakan dalam bentuk Yoga dan Samadhi. Konsep Prawerti dan Niwerti ini secara keseluruhan mengajarkan tentang Bhakti Marga yang dalam pelaksanaannya menggunakan Karma Marga, Jnana Marga dan Raja Marga Yoga. Konsep Prawerti dan Niwerti sesungguhnya baik secara eksplisit maupun implisit terdapat dalam berbagai sumber sastra ajaran Agama Hindu, salah satunya pada Upanisad tepatnya pada Katha Upanisad. Sebagai bentuk sadhana yang dijalankan oleh umat Hindu maka konsep Prawerti dan Niwerti terimplementasi dalam berbagai bentuk cara pemujaan terhadap Tuhan mulai dari Yadnya dalam bentuk ritual, yoga, maupun relasi pembeajaran guru dan murid. Kedua konsep yang terdapat dalam Katha Upanisad tersebut seyogyanya mampu menjadi media pendidikan yang mampu mengedukasi dan memberikan pemahaman tentang cara pemujaan Tuhan yang berimplikasi pada tentang pembelajaran konsep ketuhanan di dalam masyarakat khususnya masyarakat Bali

Abstract

Yoga is an archaeological discovery at the time of culture in the city of Harappa and Mahenjadaro, which is embodied in a statue of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati who was doing a variety of different asanas, where there is a belief that Lord Shiva is a yoga teacher while Goddess Parvati is a student. Maharsi Patanjali in the Yoga known as Raja Yoga or yoga Astangga with eight members, namely Yama, Nyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, and Samadhi Dhyna. Of the eight sections in the first five sections form the outer member (Bahir-yoga) of yoga or make your body fresh and healthy, because it contains about body movements contained in the teachings of yoga, while this part of the last three limbs form in the so-called intertine.

Abstract

Babies born through both normal and caesarean (sc) procedures, 50-80% make the mother face the risk of baby blues syndrome and post-partum depression. Baby blues syndrome, occurs in the first 2 weeks after giving birth, triggered by physical changes such as  swelling of the breast, pain in the area around the birth canal and uterus, changes in muscle tone, physical and mental fatigue that the mother feels. While post-partum depression lasts several months to many years later, this syndrome begins with a psychiatric disorder suffered by the mother before pregnancy, psychosocial stress, inadequate social support, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder. For that, this condition needs to be addressed immediately, through the healing techniques of Chandra namaskara and Brahmari Pranayama. Chandra namaskara arouses the feminine energy, the lunar energy in the mother’s body, keeping the cerebral circulation fresh so that the sympathetic nerve activity diminishes. The effect of massage on the organs in the abdomen, increase peristaltic activity in the intestine, the lateral wall of the heart stretched perfectly so that no ischaemia occurs. Alteration of arthritis of the spinal joint can be removed by stretching the spinal muscles and ligaments between the vertebral bones through this series of asanas. While brahmari pranayama stimulates the brain part of the hypothalamus to activate the adrenal cortex system by sending signals to the pituitary gland so as not to secrete adrenocorticotropin (ACTH), so that ACTH, which had previously stimulated the outer layer of the adrenal glands (the adrenal cortex) to release a group of hormones (cortisol) did not secrete cortisol, but instead produced by the brain is actually the endhorpine that works for the body’s immune, regulate emotions, relax of the body and be able to eliminate depression.

Abstract

A healthy and ideal body is everyone's dream in the world. Healthy is meant not only physically healthy, but also holistically healthy, which is healthy in the physical body, psychological body as well as in the spiritual body. According to WHO (World Health Organization), healthy is the perfect state of physical, mental, social, not only free from disease or weakness. This indicates that health is not just free from illness and disability, but also has an ideal state of three factors, namely social, psychological and biological factors so that a person can carry out his life activities optimally. So that the body's immunity can work optimally so that the body is not susceptible to disease, then there are a number of things that a person must pay attention to in maintaining and enhancing his body's immunity, including getting enough rest, multiply the consumption of vegetables and fruit, not smoking, avoiding alcoholic beverages, exercising regularly and avoid stress. Pranayama as one of the steps of yoga is a stage carried out by the sadhaka (spiritual seeker) to maintain and enhance the physical and psychological body immunity. This article adopts the author to understand the causes and solutions offered by practicing pranayama to prevent the virus from entering the body. This paper uses a data collection method consisting of observations and documents. The data analysis technique used was qualitative in which his presentation was presented descriptively. The results of this paper are obtained that by doing pranayama, including Nadi Sodhana Pranayama, Kapalbhati Pranayama and Ujjayi Pranayama can calm the dynamic movement of mind waves and form a natural defense shield for the body to prevent the body from various diseases.

Abstract

Teaching yoga is not a teaching which is concerned specifically about the teachings of a particular religion or belief. Yoga literally comes from the word ?yuj? which means uniting or connecting with God. Yoga is basically a means or way of life, not something out of life, is not it also distanced itself from the activities, but rather is an efficient performance by the true spirit of life. Yoga nor run away from home and habits of human life, but instead is a process of the formation of attitude to life at home (family) as well as social life with order and tradition that followed included also in the scope of Balinese tradition in particular. Yoga in the tradition of Bali are reflected in all the viable commonplace example done in Yoga known there is a term which is a type of yoga Asanas in terms of movement both in the standing position, sitting, and lying down. Asanas indirectly has done in a civic order Bali through sitting cross-legged when visited, lined up neatly, to carry out the process of worship that uses or standing cross-legged stance. This behavior does not necessarily constitute the heritage of our Yoga Science adoption directly or indirectly in everyday life, but it is an idea that something that reflects the local wisdom has the feel a clear education as a meaningful review.

Abstract

Lontar Tutur Kumara Tatwa adalah salah satu  lontar yang diwarisi oleh orang Bali saat ini. Tutur Kumara Tatwa memiliki ajaran yang bernilai tinggi, di Lontar Tutur Kumara Tatwa menjelaskan mengapa orang mengalami penderitaan dan bagaimana melepaskan penderitaan atau keterikatan untuk benar-benar mendapatkan kebebasan abadi atau moksa. Beberapa perpustakaan suci yang diwarisi termasuk Lontar Tutur Kumara Tatwa memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan manusia terutama umat Hindu di Indonesia. Lontar Tutur Kumara Tatwa berisi ajaran filosofis mengapa manusia yang terlahir sebagai makhluk paling mulia benar-benar mengalami penderitaan yang luar biasa dan bagaimana melepaskan semua keterikatan. Dalam Tutur Kumara Tatwa (2003: 65) dijelaskan bahwa Bhatara Kumara bertindak sebagai gembala, ia hidup sendirian di sebuah rumah gembala bernama Argakuruksana, karena sudah lama berada di tempat gembala, ia merasa bosan. Dia berpikir bahwa apa yang dia lakukan dan alami hanyalah kemiskinan dalam kehidupan. Sebenarnya ia bukan gembala sapi, tetapi menggembalakan dasendriya (sepuluh nafsu). dalam Lontar Tutur Kumara Tatwa disebutkan ada delapan cara untuk bisa lepas dari kebapaan agar mencapai pembebasan, setiap manusia selalu merasa tertekan, karena di dalam dirinya masih ada keraguan, kebingungan yang membuat orang takut untuk mengambil tindakan. Untuk mengantisipasi pengaruh sifat astadewi, Lontar Tutur Kumara Tatwa menjelaskan bahwa ada delapan cara pembersihan batin untuk menghindari pengaruh kekotoran batin yang disebut asta lingga.

Abstract

Yoga became a popular culture can not be separated from the influence of cultural industries that then bring a new face in yoga practice. Yoga is known today is yoga asanas which besides beneficial to health is also full of entertainment nuance as an implication of postmodern society lifestyle and also the implications of the role of media in society. So it is said yoga practice is now a propan yoga practice, away from sacred values like the teachings that should be in yoga itself. This phenomenon raises the awareness of certain groups of people to show and restore the true teachings of yoga through yoga-yoga mass done in the areas of the shrine by taking time yoga as it should. So no doubt this condition raises social stratification that appears in the community in a form of contestation of yoga practices.
