Abstract

Kali Kandang Bridge is built on soft soil with low bearing capacity that uses a combination of Preloading, Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD), and Prefabricated Horizontal Drains (PHD) that require a long time to achieve a 90% consolidation degree. During the consolidation process, there is no other work that can be done. To increase time efficiency, shorten the PVD spacing or manage two or more works, such as piling bridge abutment, staged embankment, and consolidation process simultaneously can be done. But, embankment above soft soil near piled foundation can give additional forces to the pile so the study of behavior of abutment piled foundation due to nearby staged embankment and degree of consolidation should be done. This study analyzes the effects to piles if piling is carried out after consolidation is complete. Then, it analyzes the effects of variation of the PVD spacing of 0.75 m and 0.50 m, variations in embankment stages of 0.75 m/day, 1.00 m/day, and 1.25 m/day and variations in piling at various degrees of consolidation ranging from 10% to 90%. From the analysis, it was found that the variation of PVD installation spacing of 0.75 m and 0.5 m and the variation of embankment phasing of 0.75 m/day, 1.00 m/day, and 1.25 m/day did not provide a significant effect on either the soil settlement and consolidation time or the lateral deflection, pile settlement and forces in piles. On the other hand, pile driving at different consolidation degree variations showed a significant effect. The most critical condition where the foundation pile received the largest additional forces was on the foundation pile driven at a consolidation degree of 10%.

Abstract

Probolinggo - Banyuwangi Toll Road is part of the National Strategic Project, has a length of 172 km which is divided into 7 sections. One of the challenges faced is soft soil, where information is obtained in section 3 precisely STA 40 + 550 there is soft soil, which has low bearing capacity and high compressibility. The depth of the soft soil itself reaches 10 meters, with the plan to build in the approach bridge area which has a 10 meter high embankment. Considering the high embankment, based on previous studies, it is estimated that the amount of primary and secondary compression generated is quite large. This study analyzes primary, and secondary compression in bridge approach embankments built on soft soil, focusing on eliminating secondary compression using the preloading method, while the primary compression time is accelerated using Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVD). Primary consolidation results in a 1.35-meter settlement, and secondary settlements vary over 20 years. From the analysis, it is found that the annual rate of secondary settlements decreases after year 10, so it is considered that the year 10 settlements are eliminated. To eliminate these settlements at year 10 of the operational period, the required embankment height increases by up to 13.60 meters of granular backfill, preloading of 4.49 t/m2 is equivalent to 2.26 m, and the height of the embankment to be demolished is 1.85 m.

Abstract

The North Ring Road of Lamongan Project Section I, which stretches from Sta. 0+000 to Sta. 3+265, is indicated to be built on soft silt soil. This paper discusses the effect of Prefabricated Vertical Drains (PVDs) length on the amount of settlement that occurs in soft soil. The method used was to compare the installation of PVDs at a quarter, half and three quarters of the thickness of the compressible soil layer. The varying lengths of PVDs were modeled on PLAXIS2D software. The results show that the longer PVDs are installed in the compressible soil, the greater settlement occurs.

Abstract

Road and bridge construction of the Bts. Singaraja City - Mengwitani is located in a tightly contoured hilly area, resulting in a very large volume of excavation and embankment work. Referring to the data from the field inspection of the construction work package, the soil layer in the excavation work has the potential to be used as fill material and foundation layer. This can be a solution to reduce the use of natural materials by utilizing waste materials. This research aims to analyze the utilization of excavated soil on the National Road Bts. Singaraja City - Mengwitani. The research was conducted by identifying the physical and mechanical parameters of the excavated soil at the location of the disposal area, then examining the requirements of the general specifications of bina marga for road and bridge construction in 2018 revision 2, if it does not meet the stabilization using lime to improve the soil parameters to achieve optimal conditions. If the test specimen meets the requirements as backfill soil, then modeling will continue using the Plaxis 2D auxiliary program to calculate the maximum height of safe backfill soil. Based on the results, the excavated soil was classified as silty sand (SM) with plasticity index varying from 5.84% to 12.63%, and CBR values varying from 6.60% to 10.12%. For the material requirements check, all excavated soils meet the requirements as ordinary backfill material, some rest area disposal sites meet the requirements as preferred backfill material, swamp backfill, and graded material backfill, and all excavated soils do not meet the requirements of foundation layer. From the modeling results of the excavated soil parameters obtained, the safe embankment height can reach 3-5 meters.

Abstract

The construction of the Lamongan North Ring Road is planned to be built on softsoil. Based on the results of the soil investigation, it is known that the subgradecondition is classified as soft to very soft soil with a depth of 18 meters. One of theproblems of this very soft soil is the settlement. Therefore, the National RoadImplementation Agency of East Java - Bali Region conducted subgrade improvementusing preloading combined with Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD). The configurationof the PVD installation is 18 meters deep with a triangular pattern and the distancebetween PVDs is 1 meter. To stake the PVDs 18 meters deep, a piling rig with aminimum height of 24 meters is required. In the STA 0+400 to STA 0+426 section thereis a 150 kV Lamongan - Paciran High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) cable crossing the roadwith a conductor to platform distance of 18 meters. The existence of this cable is achallenge in the PVD driving as deep as 18 meters. Therefore, this journal will analyzethe PVD piling implementation method that can be carried out in this segment. Themethod carried out in this study is to start with the collection of secondary data such asshop drawings as a reference for the implementation of work in accordance with theplanned design. Based on the design plan, an implementation method that can beapplied to limited vertical clearance conditions is obtained. Based on the results of theresearch, an 18-meter deep PVD installation method was obtained that can be applied tolimited vertical clearance conditions in the Lamongan North Ring Road constructionproject Section 1 STA 0+400 to STA 0+426. In addition, it was also found that the timerequired was 34.75 minutes to stake 1 PVD point using the pulled hole PVD method.

Abstract

Warehouses play a crucial role in supporting the performance of companies in the logistics sector. PT Kansai Prakarsa Coatings (KPC) is a subsidiary of Kansai Paint Co., Ltd., a company in the paint industry sector. The distribution office and warehouse of the Bandung branch of PT Kansai Prakarsa Coatings (KPC) are located at Amir Machmud Street, Number 361, Cigugur Tengah Village, Cimahi Tengah, District, Cimahi City. The total area of the warehouse building is 408 m², with a total capacity of 80 tons. Several key issues have been identified, including poor ventilation and lighting in the closed warehouse, non-compliant loading conditions that do not meet applicable standards, and cases of overloading despite potential development. Since paint is a flammable product, it is necessary to have safe storage facilities. Additionally, paint has a strong odor and contains chemicals, making it essential to store it in a room with good ventilation and air circulation. Based on these main issues, it is important to conduct research to determine the need for building assets and warehouse equipment for PT Kansai Prakarsa Coatings, following the principles of a sustainable warehouse. The ; study is guided by SNI 7331:2007 and incorporates the concept of a sustainable warehouse. Descriptive methods with both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used in this study. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the total additional area required for the warehouse building is 372 m². This calculation is based on the estimated load of products stored both inside and outside the warehouse. Regarding warehouse equipment, based on the concept of a sustainable warehouse, PT Kansai's warehouse needs to procure ventilation systems, occupational health and safety equipment, lighting systems, as well as shelving and material handling equipment.
