Abstract

Identification of risk factors stunting is important as prevention and early detection. However, breastfeeding initiation, early exposure to colostrum, exclusive breastfeeding, and duration of breastfeeding as a risk factor of stunting is still inconsistent. This study aimed to analyze the association of breastfeeding practice with stunting in children under five years of age. Observational study with a case-control design was conducted in Sawan, Buleleng District. A total of 48 cases and 48 controls were selected to participate in the study by using cluster sampling. Stunting data were obtained by direct measurements using microtoise and length boards, while variables related to breastfeeding and respondent characteristics variables were obtained by direct interviews using a questionnaire. All item questionnaire were valid (r count > r table (0,367)) and reliabel (cronbach’s alpha 0,741). Data were analyzed with chi-square, and multivariate analysis by using logistic regression. The multivariate analysis result showed that variables were associated with stunting among children under five years of age are exclusive breastfeeding (AOR:4.27; 95%CI: 1.663-10.945), and breastfeeding initiation (AOR:3.46;95% CI:1.304-9.176). here is a need to increase the coverage of early breastfeeding initiation and exclusive breastfeeding to prevent an increase in stunting prevalence.

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is one of the health problems in the world, with a prevalence of around 13.4% (11.7-15.1%), and end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) patients who require kidney transplant therapy are around 4,902 to 7,083 million. One of the treatments for CKD is hemodialysis. Hemodialysis is a treatment action performed on CKD patients in order to survive. However, these actions have side effects on the physical and psychological conditions of patients with CKD. To prevent the more severe impact of hemodialysis, CKD patients on hemodialysis require self care management including: diet monitoring, stress management, safe activities, good lifestyle, and medication monitoring. Self care management of CKD patients can be improved through the implementation of energy conservation strategies. Through this strategy, the patient will be empowered to be independent when carrying out their daily activities by carrying out the energy saving process, with prior teaching on the implementation of the energy conservation strategy itself. This study aims to knowing the effect of implementing energy conservation strategies on self care management of patients with chronic kidney disease with hemodialysis in the intervention group and the control group. This research is a quantitative research that uses a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test-post-test control group design approach. The number of samples was 32 people in the intervention group and 32 people in the control group. The type of bivariate analysis used is the dependent sample test (Paired t-test) and the independent t-test. Statistical test results obtained a p value of 0.010, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the value of self care management in the control group and the value of self care management in the intervention group after the energy conservation strategy was implemented.

Abstract

Breast milk is the ideal food for growing newborns, as many components of breast milk serve as a source of nutrition for growth and as the first line of defense against infection. Mothers often fail to breastfeed or stop breastfeeding earlier than necessary. The problems faced by mothers in the hospital show that low milk production in the first few days after giving birth is an obstacle to breastfeeding their babies. The many reasons for mothers not to breastfeed their babies prove that lactation counseling needs to be given to mothers, especially during the post partum period. Objective:This study aims to determine the effect of lactation counseling on breastfeeding success in the Siti Hajar Room, RSU Islam Klaten. Method: The design of this research is pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The sample used was 21 respondents. The data collection instrument used the LATCH questionnaire. Statistical test using wilcoxon. Results: The results showed that the characteristics of the respondents in this study were an average age of 25.10 ± 3.223 years, most of them had higher education (52.4%), worked (66.7%) and all respondents were primiparas (100%). Breastfeeding success before counseling averaged 6.19 ± 1.327 and after counseling averaged 9.00 ± 0.775 with an average increase of 2.81 while the p value was 0.000; α = 0.05. Conclusions: The conclusion of this study is that lactation counseling increases breastfeeding success.

Abstract

There was a significant increase in tuberculosis cases from 2016 to 2019 in Muaro Jambi Regency. Many studies on TB risk factors have been carried out, but spatial cluster analysis has never been carried out in Muaro Jambi Regency. This study aimed to identify the spatial clusters of TB in Muaro Jambi Regency in 2020 using the statistical Kulldorf's scan method. Data on all TB cases at sub-district level in 2020 were obtained from the Integrated Tuberculosis Information System (SITB) of the Jambi Provincial Health Office. Sub-district office coordinate data were obtained with the help of the Google Earth Pro application. Data were analyzed using Kulldorf’s poisson spatial scan statistics based on population data and monthly number of TB cases using the free application SaTScan 10.0. Statistical scan spatial analysis found one most likely to cluster and two secondary clusters. The most likely cluster occurs in Jambi Kecil Sub-district. The first secondary cluster was found in Kasang Pudak Sub-district, and the second secondary cluster was found in Sembubuk Sub-district. The results of this study are expected to assist policy makers in increasing efforts to control and prevent TB cases by focusing on high-risk areas.
