Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of student learning behavior in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at MAN Bondowoso, focusing on cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with 12 participants (vice principal for curriculum, Islamic Education teachers, general subject teachers, and students), and documentation study. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal three main themes. First, in the cognitive aspect, differentiated and project-based learning enhanced students' conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Second, in the affective aspect, the reinforcement of the madrasah's religious culture and teacher role modeling fostered disciplined, responsible, and enthusiastic learning attitudes. Third, in the psychomotor aspect, active engagement in P5 activities, entrepreneurship bazaars, digital presentations, and religious practices developed students' creativity and practical skills. The changes in learning behavior were intentional, positive-active, and effective-functional, characterized by self-aware learning, active participation, and the ability to apply learning outcomes in daily life. The study also identified challenges including uneven teacher readiness, dynamic classroom management, limited facilities, and adaptation of affective assessment systems. Limitations of this study include its single-case context, limited duration, and scope of perspectives that require further expansion. This research recommends comparative and longitudinal studies, as well as the development of affective and psychomotor assessment instruments for future research.

Abstract

This research effort aims to examine the legal status and operational existence of the Mambaul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, located in Korek Village, Kubu Raya Regency, within the framework of social dynamics and national education policies, especially following the implementation of Law Number 18 of 2019 related to Islamic Boarding Schools. The investigation used a descriptive qualitative methodology, utilizing field research techniques that included observational analysis, comprehensive interviews, and documentation from caregivers, institutional centers, alumni, and the surrounding community. The findings show that the legal recognition of Islamic boarding schools has a major influence on the fortification of institutional frameworks, the management of educational processes, as well as the improvement of a more structured and integrated learning experience that bridges traditional and formal curricula. Instead, the persistence of boarding schools is enforced through the proactive involvement of students, who serve as guardians of Islamic values, traditions, and adaptation to contemporary progress. These results support the assertion that the interaction between formal legal recognition and the cultural resilience of Islamic boarding schools is an important determinant in maintaining their relevance and survival in the face of complex social transformations.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven a transformation toward more interactive and adaptive learning. However, vocational high school students, particularly in inclusive schools, still face challenges in English pronunciation skills. The main problem addressed in this study is the limited use of instructional media and the diverse characteristics of students, including those with special educational needs, which affect the learning process. This study aims to (1) describe the implementation of the ELSA (English Language Speech Assistant) application in English learning and (2) analyze its effect on improving students’ pronunciation skills at SMK Inklusi TPA Jember. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test, as well as observations and interviews. The results showed a gradual improvement in students’ average scores, from 62.3 in the pre-test to 71.0 in the first cycle post-test (an increase of 8.7 points or 14.0%), and further to 81.5 in the second cycle post-test (a total increase of 19.2 points or 30.8%), shifting from low to moderate and finally to good categories. Qualitative analysis revealed clear improvements from cycle I to cycle II, indicated by changes in student engagement from passive to active and independent, as well as more responsive and exploratory behavior toward practice and feedback. In addition, students’ pronunciation became more accurate and structured, indicating that the use of the ELSA application is effective in enhancing both the process and outcomes of pronunciation learning.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the persistent challenge of social desirability bias and the presence of “social masks” in interview interactions, which often obstruct the acquisition of authentic and truthful data. Conventional question-and-answer techniques frequently fail to penetrate respondents’ defensive filters. This research aims to develop a systematic framework for adaptive observational techniques through a “social detective” approach to enhance the validity of qualitative data. This study employs a qualitative ethnographic design, where the researcher serves as the primary instrument. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, investigative probing, and participant observation, and analyzed inductively using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings reveal that data honesty can be enhanced through three key techniques: (1) establishing strategic rapport to reduce respondents’ defensiveness, (2) employing strategic silence to stimulate self-disclosure through the psychological mechanism of horror vacui, and (3) conducting nonverbal cross-checks to identify behavioral leakage and inconsistencies between verbal statements and body language. The study concludes that this investigative approach effectively mitigates information bias by accessing respondents’ “backstage” realities while maintaining strict adherence to research ethics.

Abstract

Character education has become a crucial component in addressing the challenges of globalization and digitalization, which may weaken the moral values of younger generations. The Mutiara Desa program represents an experiential learning innovation that integrates contextual education with the introduction of Osing local culture. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Mutiara Desa program in shaping students’ character and to examine its relevance to the principles of Islamic educational philosophy. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at SMPN 1 Banyuwangi. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with students, foster families, and accompanying teachers, as well as documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that students’ engagement in social and cultural village activities significantly enhances empathy, social responsibility, independence, and appreciation of local culture. Furthermore, the program reflects key Islamic educational concepts such as ta’dib and tazkiyatun nafs through direct experiences that facilitate deep value internalization. This study contributes to the development of an integrative, contextual, and experience-based character education model relevant to formal education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between learning interest and intrinsic motivation among students at QBS SMP IT Cahaya Insani. The research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational method to analyze the relationship between two variables: learning interest (variable X) and intrinsic motivation (variable Y). Data were collected through a questionnaire using a scaling method, which was designed to measure the intensity or level of agreement of respondents with statements related to intrinsic motivation and learning interest. The questionnaire was distributed to 43 students from classes 9A and 9B, selected using purposive sampling from a total population of 132 students. The selection criteria were based on the assumption that these students, having spent more time in school compared to students in grades 7 and 8, would have a higher level of maturity in terms of learning interest and intrinsic motivation. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25 to ensure the validity, reliability, and robustness of the model used in this research. The results of the study indicate a positive and significant relationship between intrinsic motivation and students' learning interest. This is evidenced by a Pearson correlation value of 0.528, which is greater than the critical value (0.528 > 0.294), with a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). The effective contribution of intrinsic motivation to learning interest was found to be 27.9%, while the remaining 72.1% was influenced by other variables not included in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze cooperatives, especially Koperasi Merah Putih, as an alternative medium for economic education, functioning as an “economic laboratory” for members. The method used is a systematic review of 10 journals through a strict selection protocol, focusing on data regarding financial literacy, human resource management, UMKM empowerment, and cooperative digitalization. The results show that high-quality services and cooperative education significantly improve financial risk literacy, reduce dependence on informal loans, enhance member participation, and strengthen household economic independence and resilience. Digitalization of cooperative management and the use of interactive platforms successfully expand the reach of education and increase trust among young members. In conclusion, cooperatives are not merely savings and credit institutions but effective media for economic education that build collective financial literacy and improve socioeconomic welfare for the community.

Abstract

Community economic independence is a pillar of national welfare, but is often hampered by dependence on third-party capital and limited financial management. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of the Merah Putih Cooperative in encouraging members' economic independence through inclusive capital access and business development. The method used is qualitative with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach and narrative review. Data were collected through the Google Scholar database with the inclusion criteria of articles published in the last ten years (2016–2026). A total of 10 selected articles were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to map cooperative strengthening strategies. The results show that cooperative economic independence rests on three main foundations: (1) Transparent and professional organizational governance, which has been proven to increase member loyalty by up to 30% and operational efficiency; (2) Strengthening human resource capacity and digital transformation, where the adoption of e-commerce and fintech technology can expand market access and increase the average income of members; and (3) Internalization of the value of cooperation reinforced by government regulatory support. A literature synthesis concludes that the integration of modern management and a spirit of collectivism makes the Merah Putih Cooperative an effective instrument for reducing economic disparities and strengthening people's economic sovereignty in the modern era.
