Abstract

Arabic language learning has undergone substantial transformation due to shifts in pedagogical paradigms and the rapid advancement of digital technology. These changes highlight the need for instructional models that integrate communicative competence, authentic task performance, and the strategic use of technological tools. This study aims to analyze the concepts and implementations of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in contemporary Arabic language learning, as well as to examine the potential synergy among these three approaches as an integrative instructional model. Employing a literature review design, this study collected data from peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, and verified research reports published between 2014 and 2025. Data were analyzed through reduction, thematic categorization, and narrative synthesis. The findings reveal that TBLT promotes meaningful language use through authentic tasks, CLT enhances communicative competence through natural interaction, and ICT enriches learning experiences by providing flexible access to digital resources. The synthesis further indicates that integrating these approaches offers a more effective and adaptive model for Arabic language instruction, aligned with the needs of digital-age learners. This study contributes theoretically to applied linguistics and provides practical implications for teachers and curriculum developers seeking innovative and relevant approaches to Arabic language education.

Abstract

This study examines Arabic phonology according to Ibn Sina and its relevance to learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary schools). The aim is to understand Ibn Sina’s concept of phonology and its application in teaching Arabic at the elementary level. The method used is library research by reviewing classical and modern sources related to makh?rij al-?ur?f (articulation points of letters) and ?if?t al-?ur?f (characteristics of letters). The results show that Ibn Sina views phonology as a science encompassing the physical, physiological, psychological, and semantic aspects of speech sounds. His scientific and systematic approach is relevant for improving pronunciation, listening, and understanding of sound meanings. Applying this theory in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah can help students develop auditory sensitivity, articulation accuracy, and fluency in speaking Arabic.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of applied linguistics (Ilmu Lughah al-Ta?b?q?) in the study of the Arabic language, focusing on its theoretical foundations, methodologies, and pedagogical applications. The study emphasizes how applied linguistics provides tools for bridging language theory and practical teaching. By exploring approaches such as contrastive analysis, error analysis, discourse analysis, and communicative competence, this paper highlights the significance of applied linguistics in addressing real problems in Arabic teaching and learning. Methodologically, this research adopts a qualitative-descriptive approach, reviewing classical and modern perspectives to show the evolution of Arabic linguistics from a traditional grammatical orientation to contemporary communicative pedagogy. Findings reveal that applied linguistics enables educators to design curricula, teaching strategies, and assessments that are more relevant to the learners’ needs. It also underlines the importance of integrating modern technologies, corpora, and second-language acquisition theories into Arabic pedagogy. The study concludes that applied linguistics is indispensable in modernizing Arabic language education while maintaining its classical depth and cultural identity.

Abstract

This article explores the interrelation between morphology (?arf), linguistic synthesis (na?wu), and semantics (dal?lah) within the framework of Fiqh Lughah as the pillars of Arabic linguistics. Using qualitative and analytical methods, it highlights how classical Arabic linguistics provides analogies that are still relevant for modern pedagogy. Morphology is conceptualized as the organic structure of language, synthesis as its systemic architecture, and semantics as its vital energy. These analogies not only illustrate the depth of classical Arabic linguistic thought but also offer a foundation for developing integrative teaching methods in contemporary classrooms. Findings show that traditional pedagogy often focuses excessively on rote memorization of patterns without connecting them to communicative use. By integrating morphology, syntax, and semantics in a holistic manner, modern pedagogy can foster more effective and meaningful Arabic learning. This research contributes to bridging classical scholarship and 21st-century educational needs, especially in the digital era where language learning requires contextual, communicative, and technology-enhanced approaches.

Abstract

This study examines the evolution of Arabic dictionary compilation models from classical to modern times within the framework of lexicology. The background of this study lies in the importance of dictionaries as key instruments in understanding vocabulary, word structure, and the dynamics of meaning in Arabic, while also responding to the needs of users in the contemporary era. The main questions of this study are: (1) how has the model of Arabic dictionary compilation developed from the classical to the modern era? and (2) what are the implications for the analysis of meaning and word structure in Arabic lexicology? This study aims to reveal methodological changes in Arabic lexicography and its contribution to the study of morphology and semantics. The research method uses a qualitative approach with literature study and descriptive-analytical analysis of primary and secondary sources, including classical, modern, and digital dictionaries. Data validity is strengthened through source triangulation. The results show that classical dictionaries emphasize root systems, makhraj, and authoritative quotations, especially in explaining morphological structure and static meaning. In the modern era, the compilation model has shifted to a more practical alphabetical system, complemented by contemporary linguistic analysis and the fulfillment of Arabic language learners' needs. Meanwhile, digital and corpus-based dictionaries present significant innovations through automatic analysis, dynamic semantic mapping, and technology-based lexical processing. This transformation not only enriches Arabic linguistic resources but also opens up opportunities for the integration of lexicology with computational linguistics. Thus, the evolution of dictionary compilation models shows a shift from traditional approaches to models that are more interactive, adaptive, and responsive to language developments.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the linguistic and spiritual meanings of Surah Adh-Dhuha by employing the framework of conceptual semantics as proposed by Katz and Fodor. Surah Adh-Dhuha is selected due to its gentle, affirmative, and emotionally supportive language, which plays a significant role in spiritual and emotional healing. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive method, focusing on the semantic analysis of key lexical items in the verses of Surah Adh-Dhuha, such as adh-dhuha, al-layl, m? waddaka, and wa la al-?khiratu khayrun laka. The analysis is conducted by identifying semantic markers and distinguishers, as well as paradigmatic and syntagmatic relations among lexical units based on Katz and Fodor’s semantic theory. The findings reveal that the vocabulary of Surah Adh-Dhuha conveys not only denotative meanings but also complex conceptual structures that embody hope, emotional reassurance, and spiritual restoration. The semantic opposition between light and darkness, presence and absence, and present hardship and future promise contributes to the therapeutic function of the surah. This study concludes that the Qur’anic language of Surah Adh-Dhuha possesses a healing dimension that can be systematically explained through linguistic semantic analysis.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of turats book learning as a distinctive program at Madrasah Aliyah Ainul Hasan Wonorejo, Maron District, Probolinggo Regency. The background of this research is the continuity of classical Islamic learning traditions amid the modernization of madrasah education. This study aims to describe the implementation, historical background, and learning methods of turats book instruction. The research employs a qualitative approach using data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation. The main informant in this study is the principal of Madrasah Aliyah Ainul Hasan. The findings indicate that turats book learning has been consistently implemented since 2010 based on the initiative of the late KH. Ahsan Bahrul Ulum, Chairman of the Ainul Hasan Mandiri Foundation. The learning activities are conducted every morning before formal classroom instruction, from 07.00 to 08.00 a.m., using the books Uqud al-Lijain and Fathul Qarib. The learning method resembles the sorogan method, in which the teacher reads and explains the text while students listen and annotate its meaning. This program has become a distinctive characteristic of the madrasah and contributes to strengthening students’ religious understanding and Islamic character.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of applied semantics and pragmatics in Arabic language learning within the framework of ilmu lughah tathbiqi (applied Arabic linguistics). Using a qualitative-descriptive method based on library research, this study analyzes how lexical, grammatical, and contextual meanings—when combined with pragmatic approaches—enhance learners’ communicative competence. The findings show that effective Arabic teaching should not only focus on grammar and vocabulary but also emphasize contextual and pragmatic aspects that reflect real communication. Applied semantics provides a theoretical foundation for understanding how meanings are constructed and interpreted, while pragmatics develops the ability to use language appropriately within social and cultural contexts. Integrating these aspects supports the formation of comprehensive linguistic, sociolinguistic, and pragmatic competence essential for authentic Arabic communication.

Abstract

This study analyzes the philosophical framework, thematic evolution, and research inconsistencies in the global literature about Islamic parenting. This study employs bibliometric analysis, utilizing VOSviewer and Biblioshiny on the Scopus database, to examine publishing patterns, regional distribution, and theme mapping. The findings indicate that (1) Indonesia leads global knowledge production, resulting in an Indonesian-centric bias; (2) there has been a shift in research focus, transitioning from a school-based paradigm (2014-2018) to Family Internalisation (2019-2021) and currently to Digital Resilience (2022-2024); and (3) there exists a pronounced pedagogical hegemony, with parenting being examined more within the framework of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) than Clinical Psychology. Consequently, the forthcoming study ought to transition its emphasis from normative-educational narratives to clinical investigations about mental health and preventive measures in the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct a semantic analysis of the meaning of the word sh??ib (????) and its derivations in the Qur'an, Juz 29. The background of the study lies in the complexity of meaning (polysemy) in the language of the Qur'an, which necessitates a comprehensive contextual and semantic approach, rather than relying solely on lexical definitions. The word sh??ib, generally meaning "friend" or "owner," appears in Juz 29 in various contexts, particularly those related to eschatological and moral themes, such as a???bu an-n?r (inhabitants of the Fire) and a???bu al-yam?n (the People of the Right Hand). The method employed is qualitative descriptive-analytical, focusing on lexical and grammatical analysis. The data were inventoried using the Quran Arabic Corpus and analyzed with reference to authoritative dictionaries such as Al-Ashfahani’s Al-Mufradat fi Gharibil Qur'an. The findings indicate that the word sh??ib is mentioned 8 times in Juz 29 with 4 forms of derivation (such as a???b and ???ibah). Lexically, the root ?-?-b signifies intense togetherness and loyalty. However, relationally, its meaning expands to include "Permanent Inhabitant" (e.g., in a???bu an-n?r), "Spouse" (???ibah), "Owner" (???ibi al-jannah), and "Entity Intensely Involved" (???ibi al-??t). The conclusion asserts that understanding the word sh??ib in the Qur'an requires grasping its relational meaning based on the syntagmatic and paradigmatic context of the verses, transcending its basic meaning.
