The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) which is saddled with the core mandate as the nation’s air navigation service provider is the bed rock of Nigeria Aviation Industry and this puts a great demand on the employees who are supposed to developed uniform and consistent Nigerian airspace to meet with international standards and practices. In recent times, employees of the agency have come under verbal attacks by passengers and the general public on accusation of insensitivity in their duties and lack of professionalism. Perhaps, major fallout of this development has been the poor person-organization fit in the sector which resulted into employees’ attitudes and behaviours inimical to organizational engagement, prompt and efficient service delivery. This study therefore examined the effect of person-organization fit on organizational engagement in the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Port Harcourt using survey research method. Accidental sampling technique was used to elicit information via questionnaire from 178 respondents. Data collected were analyzed using correlation and linear regression analysis with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 21. The results of the study showed that there is significant relationship between person-organization fit and organizational engagement. As predicted, the study also revealed that person-organization exerts a positive and statistically significant effect on organizational engagement in the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency. Thus, the study recommends among others that management should give due attention to person-organization fit which positively contributes to a large number of organizational attitudes and behaviours such as job satisfaction, display of organizational citizenship behaviour, job performance, organizational commitment and engagement.

Abstract

South Sulawesi was one of the first regions in Indonesia to implement the Large-Scale Social Restriction (LSSR) policy, which runs from April 24 to May 22, 2020, and is one of the non-pharmaceutical strategies used to encourage people to stay at home more in order to suppress the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the LSSR policy on the behavior of people in South Sulawesi who stay silent in their homes, as well as how long the impact will last. The data used is big data in the form of the Google Mobility Report, specifically community mobility data in the form of a percentage change in the number of visits (towards the baseline) for places classified as residential areas measured daily from March 20 to May 22, 2020. The intervention ARIMA model (1,0,0) with the intervention order b=0, r=0, s=8 shows a significant impact from the implementation of LSSR in South Sulawesi using the univariate ARIMA (Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average) statistical analysis method. This is because of contradictory policies that encourage people to begin activities outside the home. The implementation of this policy, which was followed by the beginning of people leaving their homes in May 2020, also had an impact on rising prices due to decreased distribution of goods/services, resulting in scarcity. The study concludes that the LSSR policy has a significant effect on the behavior of people in South Sulawesi staying silent in their homes from its implementation until eight days later.

Since the Covid-19 virus arrived in Indonesia in early 2020, it has altered the order of life in the country, including the order of education. COVID-19 affects a variety of community groups, including students. However, there are still violations committed by educational institutions in the City of Padang Panjang in the implementation of the ECAR (micro-based) policy, for example, teaching and learning activities are still carried out face-to-face. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive research.

Abstract

The 2017 DKI Jakarta Pilkada presents an account of the political disputes that occurred, as well as the prevalence of racial and ethnic difficulties, which have long given rise to horizontal conflicts. This incident provided significant impetus to participate in attempts to strengthen community resilience as a result of social disputes generated by political events such as the Pilkada. The purpose of this research is to look at the resilience of the communities in DKI Jakarta during the Pilkada conflict mentioned above. This study employs a qualitative approach, as well as tools for locating data in documents and archives. Data from the field suggest that the exploitation of racial concerns by specific groups, as well as other issues such as intimidation, insults, and the sharing of inflammatory photographs and videos, contributed to the heightened severity of conflict in the 2017 Pilkada in DKI Jakarta. As a result, it is critical to enhance community resilience in three ways: build the resilience of an established social system, strengthen the community's responsiveness to internal and external changes through social capital building, and carry out social transformation through political education.

Abstract

The National Police has used information technology to manage its personnel's performance appraisals through an online Performance Management System (PMS) that can be accessed via the website and apps that can be downloaded for free on smartphones. The online PMS policy is implemented to increase the objectivity of Polri personnel in developing their careers. The author raises issues concerning the implementation of the Regional Police Metro Jaya online PMS policy and the factors that influence its implementation. The author will analyze the issues raised using Edward III's policy implementation concept and Williams' performance management system. The author conducts a study of documentation, observation, and in-depth interviews in this study, which employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive analytical research type. According to the findings, the Metro Jaya Regional Police followed up on organizational policies by placing online PMS operators in each work unit to manage and supervise policy implementation. Prior to implementation, the appointed operators were socialized regarding the online PMS policy. Furthermore, in order to save time and space for these operators, all personnel in their respective work units were socialized once more. The policy is socialized both formally and informally among personnel using social media. However, from the beginning of the implementation in early 2019, until now, it has decreased and is inconsistent in inputting performance appraisal data by each work unit, so that the attitude of the performance appraisal implementers is still less responsive. Another barrier to data entry is that the online PMS application is only available on the Android operating system and is still in the development stage, which can interfere with the data input process. It is hoped that the online PMS will make it easier for leaders to monitor and analyze their personnel's performance, as well as for members who are considered to be able to know the performance targets and performance achievements that have been carried out in order to motivate them to improve their performance in order to advance in their careers.

This study aims to further explore how the dynamics of livelihood recovery programs in post-disaster areas. The method used is Mixed Methods where surveys, interviews and FGDs are conducted in data collection. This study found that the Cash Voucher Assistance (CVA) Program has been able to provide a source of livelihood for the beneficiaries, which is indicated by the fact that most of the businesses are still running. Switching business types and adding product types are beneficiary strategies to maintain their business. However, the weakness in building coordination with several government parties has led to the disintegration of the program which has an impact on further assistance. In addition, the program period, the quantity of beneficiaries and the human resources capacity of the program implementers have an impact on the quality of assistance provided.
