Jurnal TUNAS adalah jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh LPPM STIKOM Tunas Bangsa Pematangsiantar yang Tujuan dari publikasi jurnal ini adalah untuk menyebarluaskan pemikiran konseptual atau ide dan hasil penelitian yang telah dicapai di bidang pengabdian masyarakat. Jurnal TUNAS: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat, berisi berbagai kegiatan dalam menangani dan mengelola berbagai potensi, hambatan, tantangan, dan masalah yang ada di masyarakat. Implementasi kegiatan layanan juga melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat dan mitra. Kegiatan pelayanan diorganisasikan menjadi kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Silakan baca panduan ini dengan seksama. Penulis yang ingin menyerahkan naskah mereka ke redaksi Jurna TUNAS: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat harus mematuhi pedoman penulisan. Jika naskah yang dikirimkan tidak sesuai dengan pedoman atau ditulis dalam format yang berbeda, naskah tersebut akan DITOLAK oleh editor sebelum ditinjau lebih lanjut. Para editor hanya akan menerima naskah yang memenuhi format yang ditugaskan. Jurnal TUNAS terbit 2 kali setahun. Pengiriman artikel tidak dipungut biaya, kemudian artikel yang diterima akan diterbitkan secara online dan dapat diakses secara gratis.

Abstract

English is an international language that everyone must understand to be a part of today's globalized world. This Community Service aims to improve English language skills for early childhood at the Bumi Nusantara Orphanage in Medan. The stages in this activity are (1) providing English language material which is done by introducing objects that are seen daily in early childhood at the Bumi Nusantara Orphanage in Medan, (2) accompanying the provision of English vocabulary to improve the English language skills, (3) Evaluating activities through criticism and suggestions on the usefulness and sustainability of activities. The output of this community service is being able to pronounce and produce the right intonation of spoken English orally.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a source of promotion for a local UMKM online through a website. Not only promotion through social media, marketing through website media is also expected to be able to advance UMKM business in ordering various small and large parties. The UMKM that will be developed through the creation of this website is the Home Industry Polo Stato, which manufactures various types of men’s bags. This Home Industry requires promotional media that must be further improved because it still uses promotional media in the form of social media such as Whatsapp, and Facebook to through information sources from person to person. The application of the CMS WordPress application to UMKM can increase sales and expand the range of promotions and can also be used for promotional media on Polo Stato.

Abstract

Applications for making presentations have actually existed since the launch of a GUI (Graphical User Interface) based operating system, namely Windows. The operating system packages and office application packages issued by Microsoft Corporation do not have significant weaknesses, only the high prices for each package. One of these reasons is the trend of using pirated software to develop, especially in Indonesia. In addition to violating the law, the use of pirated applications can cause work delays, especially administrative work. Microsoft Powerpoint applications that are used today are paid software. So why don't we use free or free applications to support our daily work activities? The application referred to here is an application for presentations, namely WPS Presentation, which is an open-source license agreement that makes it easy for us to get the software package. Thus the question arises, why don't we migrate to WPS presentations to help us design, build, and package our projects to make them more attractive. Many reasons that users put forward in terms of company staff are that they are used to the old one, and don't want to bother using the new one anymore.

Abstract

In the field of electricity, it is necessary to convey to students that the sources of electricity have many types, both conventional energy and new renewable energy that can be managed by consumers with small power capacities. With this information, it becomes one of the supporters of students' curiosity about electrical concepts used in everyday life. Many students do not know about small-scale electrical systems in residential homes, do not know the distribution of electricity to consumers, do not know the distribution from the generator to the network, and do not know the equipment that helps in distribution to consumers. The PKM team helps high school students understand electricity, and explains the basics of electricity, electricity distribution, and power generation through videos and slides. Abstract

The goal of this activity is to provide knowledge to the Tunas Baru Farmer Group about the importance of packaging in increasing the selling value of Compost products. The approach technique used is seminars and simulations or direct exercises. It is hoped that this service will have an impact on members of the Tunas Baru farmer group in Telaga Kodok Hamlet, Central Maluku Regency, namely an increase in the demand for compost products so that group income also increases.

Abstract

Orphanages or facilities where children who can't afford to gather or are often called orphans are also called social institutions where the aim is to protect and educate them so that they can live a better and more secure life. Even though their lives must receive support and assistance from benefactors and people who have great social concern for the continuity of their education and life in the future. The Putra Muhammadyah Orphanage which is located on Jalan Amalun Gang Umanat, Medan City, North Sumatra, has been established in 1964 and has a good status with a score of 344. During this social service visit, we were attended by lecturers, alumni, students, and also the electrical engineering student association. Hope University Medan. Where on our visit we donated rice in the form of approximately one hundred kilograms (100 kilos). The administrators and residents of the orphanage were very enthusiastic and happy to receive us.

Abstract

This training is carried out to provide understanding and knowledge to the society, especially tour guides who are at Istana Maimun. The purpose of this community service is training for the TOEFL (Test of English Foreign Language). In addition, it provides understanding and knowledge of the TOEFL (Test of English Foreign Language). It is hoped that the results of this training can provide new understanding and knowledge about the TOEFL (Test of English Foreign Language) to other people. This activity is carried out using lecture and discussion methods. The lecture method is used in the process of delivering training/socialization materials. The expected output targets of this activity are: 1) Tour guides know what the TOEFL (Test of English Foreign Language) is, 2) Tour guides understand the types of questions tested in the TOEFL (Test of English Foreign Language), 3 ) Tour guides understand the tips and tricks for doing the TOEFL (Test of English Foreign Language) questions, and 4) Tour guides are able to work on the questions tested in the TOEFL (Test of English Foreign Language).

Abstract

This Educational and Assistance activity for ANC Worm Cultivation and Home Industry Pellet Production is a Community Partnership Program activity involving partners, namely the Deli Serdang Worm Farmers Association (ATC Deli Serdang) located in Wonosari Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency. Priority issues related to production processes, financial management, not yet producing downstream products that are attractive to the market, and marketing processes. The learning and mentoring method provide solutions: (1) Increasing the production of ANC Worms in new ways and using technology with the "Worm Drying Oven" machine to produce pellets with a very fast drying process (2) Pellet Grinding and Printing Machines with this method Screw Press the process of making pellets will be better and faster, (3) Provide the technology of using Hand Sealer so that the packaging and labels look much more attractive/eye-catching. (4) Utilization of social media as a means of product promotion in market expansion, (5) Providing Financial Report Preparation Training to all members of farmer groups in accordance with Accounting principles (Financial Accounting Standards – Micro, Small, and Medium Entities).

Abstract

Teaching is an activity carried out by a teacher in transferring knowledge to students. Generally, the teaching and learning process is conducted in a room or class where there are teachers and students inside which are usually called face-to-face or offline meetings. The problem came when Covid-19 was determined to be an epidemic disease in the world so the Government did not allow the teaching and learning process to be conducted offline. This means all teaching and learning processes must be conducted online. For this reason, the ability of teachers to make teaching media that will be presented online must be upgraded in order to make the subject that should be transferred to students can be presented in a good and interesting manner. For this reason, we, the Universitas Harapan Medan Service Team, conducted a Training on Making Teaching Media for Kindergarten and Elementary School Teachers.

Abstract

In the journal that we will be working on, the aim is to understand how supply chain management is on the supply of raw materials in the food and beverage industry, especially in international franchise companies. This study uses qualitative research techniques. The data that has been collected will be analyzed using steps that are often called triangulation, namely: Data reduction; Data Display Factors of supply chain management that impact raw material inventory, and conclusions. In qualitative research, the population and samples taken are called informants. Supply chain management has an impact on the supply of sufficient and quality raw materials, if supply chain management is good it will make inventory always maintained and can meet needs and demands when needed. KFC must always improve the governance or management of the company's supply chain so that raw materials are always sufficient and always available whenever needed. The supply chain is very important and influential so that KFC can sell its products with sufficient and quality raw materials so that consumers get good products. If consumers get a quality product, they are likely to buy it again and invite their closest people to try it.
