Abstract

In managing a company, whether manufacturing or service, it will never be free from risks, including educational institutions. The increasingly fierce competition in creating a competent and quality educational institution begins with how to get new students. This certainly never escapes risk management. Bahaudin Mudhary Madura University tries to reduce the level of risk as little as possible in order to improve the quality of existing education and compete in getting new students with other universities in Madura, especially Sumenep. Registration of new students is the initial activity in higher education because it requires innovation and creative ideas in recruiting prospective students. This research uses the House of Risk method to prioritize risk agents and determine the most effective actions against risks that occur and is integrated with Porter's five forces to describe the framework as an analysis of business strategy development or the competitive environment that contributes to competitiveness and competitive advantage. The results of the analysis based on Porter's Five Forces model show that for the bargaining power of new student admissions at UNIBA Madura, there are several things that UNIBA Madura must do to attract and increase the interest of new students, namely increasing information and promotion of UNIBA Madura. The results of the first phase of HOR showed that the most dominant sources of risk at UNIBA Madura were the cost of developing a large campus, the lack of interest of doctoral lecturers in teaching, and the number of relationships was still small and based on phase 2 of HOR, it was found that risk mitigation strategy actions to minimize the risks that occurred were by collaborate with foundations/institutions related to funding so that UNIBA Madura can minimize the risk of accepting new students.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of the conventional lathe machine's cutting parameters in the turning process of ST-42 steel material  on surface roughness and tool wear by employing an HSS tool. The examined cutting parameters encompass the spindle speed and the depth of cut, while maintaining a consistent feed rate. Each cutting parameter was evaluated at three different levels, spindle speed of 330 rpm, 360 rpm, and 500 rpm, and depth of cut 0.2 mm, 0.5 mm, and 1 mm, all with a uniform feed rate of 0.3 mm/minute. The findings of this research demonstrate that alterations in spindle speed and depth of cut exert a discernible influence on both surface roughness and tool wear. Elevated spindle speeds are associated with reduced surface roughness, albeit at the expense of increased tool wear. Conversely, deeper depth of cut correspond to heightened surface roughness, yet lead to decreased tool wear, aiming to achieve a uniform final diameter of the workpiece. By synergistic manipulation of these two parameters, the most favorable outcome in terms of surface roughness and tool wear can be identified. The lowest surface roughness was 4.42 μm, found at a spindle speed of 500 rpm coupled with the depth of cut of 0.2 mm. Meanwhile, the least amount of tool wear, quantified at 0.07 mm, was achieved at a spindle rotation speed of 330 rpm along with a cutting depth of 1 mm. The application of ANOVA analysis substantiates the statistical significance of both parameters, affirming their pivotal role in influencing surface roughness and tool wear.

Abstract

Rice straw fiber is considered as agricultural residue that has not been widely used other than as animal feed. In addition, the development of composite material technology that uses natural fibers provides interesting mechanical properties to be developed. This paper aims to investigate the effect of different concentrations of fiber usage on bending and tensile strength. The comparison of concentrations of fiber usage are 35% , 40% , 70% dan 80%. The straw fiber was decreased the moisture content using a microwave and  the treatment with NaOH for removed the hemicellulose and lignin in the fibers. The manufacture of this biocomposite uses a matrix of Urea Formaldehyde with a hand lay up technique. The results of the mechanics test(bending and tensile strengths) show that the strength value obtained on the straw fiber variation, namely the highest average value of the Tensile test is 4.82 MPa at a ratio of 40 : 60, while the lowest is 2.88 MPa at a comparison 35 : 65 and and the highest average value of the bending test is at a ratio of 80:20 (6.64 N/mm2), while the lowest is 40:60 (2.45 N/mm2).

Abstract

The transition to renewable energy is increasingly important in addressing global energy demands and environmental issues. Solar energy has emerged as a sustainable option, particularly for small and micro businesses that often face challenges related to energy supply and costs. Shashi Baby and Kids Food, a micro – enterprise producing baby food, can benefit from an off – grid solar power system to support its operational needs, especially lighting during the night. The system design involves analyzing energy requirements, selecting solar panels, batteries, inverters, and simulating the system using PVsyst software to optimize performance. This system is designed to support operations with nine lamps for 12 hours a day, generating sufficient energy and ensuring adequate storage. Simulation results show that the system has a performance ratio (PR) of 75.86% and a solar fraction (SF) of 99.82%, indicating high efficiency and nearly fully meeting energy needs through solar power. Although there is a slight decrease in SF in December, this system design has proven to be efficient and reliable in supporting business operations. Further analysis reveals that the annual energy production reaches 1451 kWh, with specific production of 1210 kWh per kWp, confirming that this system can generate significant energy for the operational needs of the business.
