Abstract

General Background: Character education is crucial in shaping children’s personalities, with responsibility being a core value for social and personal development. This is particularly significant for orphans, who often face emotional vulnerabilities due to parental loss and require structured guidance in institutional care settings. Specific Background: The Annur Orphanage in Medan implements various parenting strategies aimed at fostering responsibility among its residents. However, previous studies on orphanage-based character formation have been limited, often lacking focus on specific traits like responsibility. Knowledge Gap: Few studies examine in detail the systematic parenting strategies within orphanages, especially in Annur Orphanage, and their role in cultivating responsibility in children. Aims: This study aims to explore and analyze the parenting strategies employed at Annur Orphanage to instill a sense of responsibility in orphans. Results: Using a descriptive qualitative approach, findings reveal that caregivers apply habituation, exemplary modeling, and task assignments—integrated with religious and moral values—supported by structured routines and compassionate engagement. These methods have proven effective in building independence, discipline, and social responsibility, despite challenges like limited resources and varied child backgrounds. Novelty: This research provides a focused, in-depth analysis of responsibility-oriented parenting strategies in an orphanage context, offering practical implications for similar institutions. Implications: The results can inform policy and practice in child welfare organizations, highlighting the importance of consistent, value-based, and humanistic approaches to developing responsible character in vulnerable children. Abstract

General Background: Character formation is a fundamental mission of Islamic education, as morality is the foundation for sustaining a nation’s dignity. Specific Background: In the context of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), the Living Qur’an approach integrates Qur’anic values into daily routines, fostering spiritual, moral, and social excellence. Knowledge Gap: While previous studies affirm the benefits of the Living Qur’an, few deeply examine its implementation process, supporting and inhibiting factors, and its holistic impact on students’ character. Aims: This study explores the process, supporting elements, and challenges in forming Qur’anic character through the Living Qur’an at Ikhwanul Hasanah Civil Boarding School. Results: Using a qualitative case study method with observation, interviews, and documentation, findings show that Qur’anic character—faith, piety, discipline, responsibility, and love for the Qur’an—is cultivated through classroom learning, extracurricular activities, pesantren culture, and community engagement. Novelty: This research provides an in-depth, process-oriented analysis that links daily habituation, role models, and institutional culture with comprehensive character formation. Implications: The Living Qur’an proves to be an effective pedagogical model for producing religious, morally grounded individuals prepared to become Rabbani leaders, despite challenges of diverse student backgrounds and limited teaching staff. Abstract

General Background: The Qur’an serves as the primary guide for Muslims, requiring proper recitation in accordance with tajweed rules to preserve accuracy and meaning. Specific Background: In many non-formal Islamic education settings, such as taklim councils, mothers often possess basic Qur’anic literacy but lack proficiency in tajweed, with some remaining hijaiyah illiterate. Knowledge Gap: Limited research examines structured tahsin learning practices for adult women in rural Indonesian communities, particularly in non-formal institutions. Aims: This study investigates the implementation, methods, facilities, and challenges of tahsin Al-Qur’an learning at the Al-Hidayah Taklim Council, Punggulan Village. Results: Using qualitative descriptive methods with interviews, observations, and documentation, findings reveal that tahsin classes—held twice weekly—significantly improve participants’ reading fluency, letter recognition, and tajweed application through tailored methods (Iqra’ for beginners, Qiroati for advanced learners). Novelty: The research highlights adaptive instructional strategies in a non-formal, community-based female learning group, integrating individualized approaches within a collective setting to address diverse abilities and age-related challenges. Implications: The findings emphasize the potential of localized tahsin programs to strengthen Qur’anic literacy among women, thereby enhancing religious practice and intergenerational transmission of correct recitation skills. Abstract

General Background: Language preservation is essential in maintaining cultural identity and fostering intercultural harmony, particularly in multicultural regions like Sorong City, Papua. Specific Background: The decline in regional language use, such as the Moi language, threatens local wisdom and social cohesion, especially among younger generations. Knowledge Gap: Limited community-based initiatives integrate trilingual education with cultural tolerance training in non-formal learning settings. Aims: This study aimed to implement and evaluate the Lestarikan Bahasa Papua (LABEPA) Movement at the Egad Kairos Learning House to strengthen children’s basic vocabulary in Moi, Indonesian, and English while promoting social tolerance. Results: Conducted through staged activities—preparation, socialization, training, testing, and monitoring—the program improved children’s vocabulary mastery from 45% (pre-test) to 78% (post-test). Interactive methods, including singing, games, and cultural storytelling, enhanced engagement and comprehension. Novelty: LABEPA uniquely combines trilingual learning with cultural and tolerance education in a playful, community-driven approach, supported by tailored teaching tools such as illustrated dictionaries and flipbooks. Implications: The findings suggest that culturally grounded, multisensory language programs can effectively enhance linguistic skills and social values, offering a scalable model for language preservation and tolerance education in other multicultural contexts Highlights: Improves children’s vocabulary in Moi, Indonesian, and English. Abstract

General Background: Corrosion poses a significant global challenge, causing severe economic and structural damage, with approximately 25% of metals produced annually lost due to ongoing degradation. Specific Background: Among various mitigation strategies, organic inhibitors are promising for their efficiency and potential environmental compatibility. Knowledge Gap: Despite experimental evidence of indoline-2,3-dione derivatives as effective inhibitors, detailed quantum-level insights into their inhibition mechanisms remain limited. Aims: This study employs density functional theory (DFT) to evaluate the electronic and chemical interaction parameters of these derivatives and compare predicted performances with experimental data. Results: Calculations using Gaussian09 (B3LYP/6-31++G(d,p)) and G311-6/LYP3B basis sets revealed that 5-chloro-1-(2-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl)indoline-2,3-dione exhibits superior inhibition efficiency, characterized by a low energy gap (3.314 eV), high inhibitor–metal interaction energy (ΔΨ), enhanced ductility, and favorable EB-D exchange energy. Mulliken charge distribution and electrostatic potential maps confirmed strong nucleophilic and electrophilic sites, supporting a chemisorption-driven mechanism. Novelty: This is the first comprehensive DFT-based analysis linking multiple electronic properties to experimental inhibition data for indoline derivatives. Implications: The findings provide predictive guidelines for designing targeted, environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors for acidic industrial environments, particularly in hydrochloric acid and hydrogen sulfate processing. Highlights: Demonstrates superior inhibition efficiency of specific indoline derivative. Links quantum parameters directly to experimental performance. Abstract

General Background: Customer experience is a crucial factor in the hospitality industry as it influences customer loyalty and repurchase decisions. Specific Background: In Padang, four-star hotels, including Rocky Plaza Hotel, face fluctuating occupancy rates that have not consistently met targets, despite strategic locations. Knowledge Gap: While prior studies confirm the link between customer experience and repurchase intention in various regions, limited research focuses on four-star hotels in West Sumatra, particularly regarding the integration of sensory, emotional, and social dimensions of customer experience. Aims: This study aims to examine the influence of customer experience on repurchase intention among guests at Rocky Plaza Hotel Padang. Results: Using purposive sampling with 98 respondents, data analyzed through simple linear regression revealed that customer experience was categorized as very good (80.61%) and repurchase intention as very good (83.67%). The regression results showed a significant influence, with customer experience explaining 53.6% of the variance in repurchase intention. Novelty: This study uniquely combines three indicators of customer experience (sensoric, emotional, and social) with four indicators of repurchase intention (transactional, referential, explorative, and preferential), while integrating occupancy data for contextual depth. Implications: Findings highlight that enhancing personalized services, emotional connections, and social interactions can strengthen loyalty, offering practical insights for hotel management and contributing to service marketing and CRM literature in the local context. Highlights: Customer experience significantly drives repurchase intention (53.6%). Emotional, sensory, and social aspects shape guest loyalty. Abstract

In the era of globalization and rapid technological development, organizations are faced with the demands of rapid adaptation to maintain competitiveness, with organizational culture and employee commitment as key success factors. In Indonesia, Generation Z, which now dominates the workforce, has unique characteristics and high challenges in job satisfaction, which impact turnover intentions and organizational turnover. This study aims to examine the relationship between organizational culture, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction of Generation Z employees using a bibliometric analysis approach on related publications (2011-2023) collected through Publish or Perish software and analyzed with VOSViewer. The results show a significant upward trend in publications, a strong link between the topics of Generation Z, job satisfaction, and employee performance, and the important role of an adaptive and inclusive organizational culture in increasing the motivation and loyalty of Generation Z. This study provides a strong foundation for human resource management practices that are responsive to demographic dynamics and the challenges of the modern workplace. Highlights: Adaptive Culture: Inclusive organizational culture improves motivation and loyalty of Gen Z employees. Job Satisfaction: Directly linked to turnover intentions and overall organizational performance. Abstract

General background: Financial technology (fintech) has transformed the financial services industry, offering convenience and broader access. Specific background: However, the rapid growth of online loans has also given rise to illegal lending practices, marked by exorbitant interest rates, privacy violations, and exploitative collection methods, causing serious economic and psychological harm. Knowledge gap: Previous studies have examined illegal loans from legal, economic, and social perspectives, yet few have analyzed solutions through the framework of industrial fiqh. Aims: This study seeks to contextualize the concepts of amar ma’ruf nahi munkar (enjoining good and forbidding wrong) and ta’zir (discretionary punishment) as frameworks to address the proliferation of illegal online loans. Results: Findings show that economic pressures, consumptive lifestyles, and low financial literacy are primary factors driving communities into debt traps. Illegal loans are deemed unlawful in Sharia due to elements of riba, gharar, and zulm. Novelty: By applying classical fiqh principles within the theory of industrial fiqh, this study introduces practical programs: financial literacy campaigns as amar ma’ruf and strengthened regulation and law enforcement as ta’zir. Implications: These approaches highlight the relevance of fiqh in modern socio-economic challenges, offering a Sharia-based, preventive, and corrective framework to protect society from exploitative financial practices. Highlights: Illegal online loans cause economic, social, and psychological harm. Fiqh principles provide preventive and corrective solutions. Abstract

General Background: Mathematics is a fundamental discipline that supports technological advancement and cognitive development, yet it remains challenging for many elementary students due to its abstract nature. Specific Background: Observations at SDN 12/II Empelu revealed that Grade IV students showed low learning outcomes, with 47% failing to reach the minimum mastery criteria, largely due to conventional teacher-centered approaches and lack of engaging media. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have examined the effectiveness of cooperative learning models such as Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) or visual aids like puzzles separately, but few have integrated both strategies to address students’ conceptual and motivational difficulties in mathematics. Aims: This study aimed to improve mathematics learning processes and outcomes by combining the STAD model with puzzle media. Results: Conducted as Classroom Action Research in two cycles with 17 students, the findings indicated increased teacher performance (85% to 97%), student activeness (67% to 85%), and cognitive achievement (67% to 84%). Novelty: The research demonstrates the effectiveness of integrating STAD with puzzle media in mathematics learning within the Merdeka Curriculum, a combination not extensively studied in rural elementary contexts. Implications: This approach provides an innovative and practical strategy for fostering active, collaborative, and meaningful learning, offering a model that can be adapted for other mathematical topics and primary education settings.Highlight : STAD with puzzle media improved the learning process and student activeness. Teacher performance increased from good to very good between cycles. Student learning outcomes rose significantly from 67% to 84%. Abstract

General Background: Education at the primary level plays a pivotal role in shaping students’ foundational knowledge, skills, and character, yet learning engagement often remains low. Specific Background: In the context of the Merdeka Curriculum, the integrated Science and Social Studies subject (IPAS) requires active and meaningful participation, but observations at SDN 51/II Paku Aji revealed limited student involvement and poor academic results due to monotonous teaching practices. Knowledge Gap: Although cooperative learning models are widely studied, few investigations specifically address the application of Small Group Work (SGW) within the IPAS subject in elementary schools, especially regarding students’ discussion skills. Aims: This study sought to improve learning activities and outcomes of fourth-grade students through the implementation of SGW. Results: Conducted as Classroom Action Research in two cycles with 20 students, the findings showed a significant rise in teacher performance (from 77.27% to 90.90%), student participation (from 65% to 85%), and mastery of learning outcomes (from 55% to 80%). Novelty: Unlike prior studies, this research situates SGW within the Merdeka Curriculum’s integrative IPAS framework, emphasizing collaborative discussion as a core competence. Implications: The findings demonstrate that SGW not only enhances academic achievement but also fosters active engagement and social interaction, offering a practical strategy for teachers to address low participation in IPAS learning.Highlight : Teacher performance improved significantly across learning cycles. Student activity in discussion, listening, and writing increased. Mastery of learning outcomes rose from 45% to 85%.
