Abstract

Biology teachers at MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru still rely on conventional learning resources that do not fully meet the needs of an Islamic-based curriculum. This limitation has an impact on students' ability to internalize Biology concepts within a holistic Islamic framework. Therefore, workshops and interventions are needed through the provision of flipbook-based Biology e-modules integrated with the values of the Qur'an and As-Sunnah to improve the quality of learning and student understanding. This community service aims to improve the capacity of biology teachers' skills at MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru by using flipbook-based biology enrichment e-modules integrated with the values of the Qur'an and As-Sunnah. The partner profile shows that most teachers at MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru have good pedagogical competence, but need to increase their capacity in utilizing digital technology-based learning resources integrated with Islamic values. This condition requires intensive training and mentoring programs for teachers so that they are able to optimize the use of flipbook-based e-modules that are in accordance with the needs of the curriculum and Islamic values. The results of the workshop showed that biology teachers at MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru were in the category of having quite good skills in using e-modules in learning, but they needed to get used to it so that they could become more skilled.

Abstract

Indonesia has the most significant percentage of wood producers worldwide, with 31.24% being furniture and handicraft products. Jogja Mastercraft's creative industry, owned by Mr. Iyos, was established in 2015 and has a turnover of 15 million monthly. This business had been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which reduced labor and decreased the price of eyewear products and wooden watches. Wooden glasses and watches are handicrafts that have high value and are made from the primary material of wood waste. So that if sold and marketed, it has high potential in local and international markets. Some crucial problems are caused by Jogja Mastercraft partners using a manual process in making body bezels and cases on watches and frames on wooden glasses. This makes the product work up to 6 hours, and making glass frames takes 4 hours. In addition, the work on the bezel and case with a scroll saw machine also makes the final result less neat and precise. The second problem is that there are no effective marketing methods and strategies for increasing the sales figures of wooden watch products, so a Joomla-based e-commerce website is needed so that wooden watch sales can be optimal. The main methods and outputs carried out in the implementation of Community Empowerment (PBM) include the application of CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) technology through the manufacture of laser-type CNC designs with two axes to increase productivity and quality of bezels and cases from wood clocks, provide training and guidance in managing effective marketing management and product promotion, and produce e-commerce websites.

Abstract

The Nurul Azhar Educational, Social and Cultural Institute (LPSB) is an institution that operates in the field of developing human resources, improving community welfare and maintaining the culture of the Sasak tribe, especially in Tetebatu Village. To improve human resources in the village, LPSB Nurul Azhar established a nature school with the aim of producing a generation that cares about the environment and maintains the customs that have been inherited by the founding fathers of the village. However, the managers of this nature school do not yet have an understanding of environmental and cultural-based education. For this reason, this community service program aims to assist the administrators in establishing the Tetebatu Nature School.  This collaborative initiative, involving the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the University of Nahdlatul Wathan Mataram, the Beruga' Alam Institute, and LPSB Nurul Azhar, focused on developing the school’s Vision, Mission, Goals, and Targets; designing the school’s curriculum; and introducing the concept and practice of nature schools and educational tourism-based learning.

Abstract

Breast cancer has the highest incidence of all cancers in Indonesia. Breast cancer is a type of cancer that often occurs in women, especially in women who are close to 50 years old. Breast cancer in Indonesia is often found in an advanced stage and is already difficult to treat. Efforts can be made to reduce the incidence of advanced breast cancer by conducting routine breast examinations. Early screening measures need to be done to detect abnormal cells before they develop into deadly cancer. With these examinations carried out regularly, the discovery or screening and early detection can reduce the incidence of advanced breast cancer. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the health cadres so that they can become proficient in conducting the BSE examination. Furthermore, cadres are also expected to be able to teach other women of childbearing age in the area where they live. This activity was carried out at the South Pekalongan Health Center, which was attended by 34 cadres of Posbindu South Pekalongan Health Center in the form of counseling with lecture and question and answer methods and demonstrations on Breast Self Examination (BSE). Pretest and Postest were conducted to measure cadres' knowledge before and after education. The results of this level of service can increase the knowledge of respondents, which initially the majority of respondents' knowledge level in the poor category was 66% in the poor category and after being given education the level of knowledge became 90% in the very good category. Similar activities are needed for coaching posyandu cadres to have health maintenance skills, especially screening and early detection of breast cancer. Of course, support and participation from residents and village officials are needed.

Abstract

The bike sharing program in Bandung City known as "BOSEH" (Bike on The Street Everybody Happy) was adopted as a strategic step to address the increasingly complex urban transportation issues. After running for a period of six years, BOSEH has encountered several challenges that need attention, such as a decrease in registration numbers, a decline in the number of active shelters, and poor shelter conditions. These issues have the potential to hinder accessibility and comfort for BOSEH users, indicating the need for improvements in the management and maintenance of these shelters to function optimally. Based on evidence gathered through observation and document review, this research will evaluate the BOSEH program in Bandung comprehensively. The aim of this research is to identify the achievements of BOSEH, which will be evaluated using the Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) framework by Stufflebeam. This study applies a qualitative method with a case study approach to obtain rich and in-depth data through information collection from various sources, such as direct observation, interviews with stakeholders, and document analysis related to the BOSEH program. The results of this research show that the BOSEH program has been aligned with the identified needs in BUMP but faces challenges in implementation. To improve the effectiveness of the program, improvements in thorough planning, transparent budget allocation, infrastructure enhancement, and human resource quality are necessary, as well as improving shelter management, customer service, and promotional activities. Thus, BOSEH can have a more significant impact in creating the desired cycling culture and enhancing urban mobility in Bandung

Abstract

Used cooking oil from household frying is often discarded improperly, leading to environmental pollution. One sustainable solution is repurposing it into aromatherapy candles, reducing waste while creating economic opportunities. To address this issue, KKM 210 UIN Malang conducted a community service initiative titled "Optimizing the Transformation of Used Cooking Oil Waste into Aromatherapy Candles: A Sustainable Waste Management Approach" in Petungsewu Village, in collaboration with PKK members. This program aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of reusing used cooking oil, reduce improper disposal, and introduce innovative business ideas. The socialization included brochure distribution, material presentations, hands-on training, interactive Q&A sessions, and entrepreneurship guidance. A pre- and post-assessment was conducted to measure knowledge retention and skill acquisition. Results showed a significant increase in participant understanding, with knowledge of candle-making rising by 65% and 85% of participants gaining confidence in independent production. Additionally, 75% of participants expressed interest in developing a home-based business, demonstrating the initiative’s potential for local economic development. These findings highlight the importance of transforming used cooking oil into value-added products as both an eco-friendly waste management solution and a means of empowering local communities. The initiative serves as a model for sustainable development, showcasing how practical innovations can address both environmental and economic challenges. Future programs should focus on expanding training, facilitating market access, and supporting small business growth to ensure long-term impact and scalability.
