Abstract

The problem in this study is that teachers still have difficulty assessing children's creativity, so the aim of this study is to develop a computer-based assessment instrument for the creativity portfolio of kindergarten children. This research is a Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model through 5 stages, namely: analyze, design, development, implementation and evaluation. Subjects in this study consisted of 3 teachers in Group A TK ABA 05 Medan. Then 6 validation experts who have the appropriate knowledge of this development research, among others: a) 2 assessment experts, b) 2 computer experts, c) 2 early childhood experts.  The determination of the feasibility level of the portfolio assessment instrument is based on the validation test of the experts, while the level of effectiveness of the portfolio assessment instrument is based on trials for teachers through teacher response questionnaires. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the assessment of the assessment expert validator I in this category was considered very valid with a percentage of 83% which means that it is very suitable for use and the second assessment expert in the category is considered very valid with a percentage of 83% which means very suitable for use. Then the computer expert I in the category is considered valid with a percentage of 81% which means it is suitable for use and the computer expert II in the category is considered very valid with a percentage of 86% which means very suitable for use. Furthermore, early childhood expert I in the very valid category with a percentage of 93% which means that it is very suitable for use and early childhood expert II in the category is considered valid with a percentage of 73% which means it is suitable for use. The results of the teacher response questionnaire on portfolio assessment using a gain score test with a value of 0.74 and can be categorized as high effectiveness, this indicates that the use of portfolio assessment instruments has been effectively used by TK ABA 05 Medan teachers.

Abstract

Posyandu as a means of monitoring the growth of toddlers in order to detect problems with growth disorders. Child considering conducted at Posyandu is an effort by the community to monitor the growth of toddler so that community participation is needed. Sayur Matinggi Health Center has an under-targeted program of Posyandu service coverage for toddlers where the percentage of community participation only reaches 53% while the national target coverage is 80%. The type of research used with analytical survey with an sequential explanatory approach. The sample in this study is determine by taking the entire population to be subject of research, as many as 96 toddler’s mothers. This research was conducted at Sayur Matinggi community health centre from Januari to November 2018. The results of the multiple logistic regression test analyses showed that the caders’ service was the dominant factor influencing the utilization of posyandu Sayur Matinggi community health center. The researcher’s suggestion in this research is posyandu cadres should be more active in developing appropriate and interesting activities so that mothers become more active in implementing posyandu and health for their toddlers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study, to adjust the form of regulations made by schools with the provisions of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection. Research conducted is qualitative research by conducting documentation and observation studies to obtain more accurate data. Documentation study is conducted to study and analyze the contents of the regulations that were applied in SMP 2 Helvetia. Observations are made to the school to see firsthand whether sanctions against violations of the rules given to students are in accordance with the Article 54 of the Child Protection Act. The results of this study, designed a form of regulation that will be applied in schools, where the punishment given in the event of a violation by students must be humane and still protect the rights of the child. If viewed from the provisions of Article 54 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection, then the execution of the Punishment in SMP PAB 2 Helvetia does not violate the provisions of Article 54 of Law Number 35 of 2014, where the child is in an educational unit (school ) has been protected from acts of physical and psychological violence, this is evidenced by the absence of physical punishment in the school environment and the enactment of a point system which means that teachers and other education personnel have sought ways to punish students who violate the rules clearly and to avoid physical punishment.

Abstract

This research aims at describing and developing website based authentic assessment model on drama course in English literature study program. The research data comes from descriptive information of the experts or validator along with the suggestion from the students as the product user through the PBL activity combined with the observation and recording with video tape. Data analysis is done by using rubric measure: a) the information completeness which is applied on the work sheets. b) the information comprehensiveness which is included in the paragraph written by the students. The overall of the flow diagram are :  Preparation: choosing the research based article which is relevant with the course; preparing worksheet and observation sheet.  Implementation: the students read the research based article and fill in the worksheet. . Observation: filling in the observation sheet and writing anecdotal record. Reflection: analyzing the observation sheet and measurement rubric. With the implementation of authentic assessment toward the students who participate in the drama appreciation course. The obtained results show significant increase in their competence through the 6 kinds of task which contain website based authentic assessment on the stage of manipulating expression, scripting, dialogue reading, pre performing and stage performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out a complete picture of local wisdom on the use of Minangkabau proverbs that have contrast meanings by the Minangkabau society in Medan North Sumatera, Indonesia. The research used descriptive qualitative method, by conducting interview as well as questionnaires distribution on provided proverbs to a total of 60 respondents from different regions of Minangkabau community, namely Kota Matsum I, II, III and IV. The data were collected and classified based on the various fields of Social Culture, Economy, Politics, Law, and Religion which were then analyzed by interpreting the meaning of contrast contained in the proverbs relating to the customs and traditions they practiced in daily life. It was found that despite the strong evidence on philosophy of cultural values and openness toward the modernization, this people have been consistently using the contrasted-meaning proverbs in their almost all-different-contexts of conversation. It also showed that the use of Minangkabau language as local language, has contributed to the field of language and literature studies, especially in the area of ethnical proverb that could enrich the repertoire of Indonesian, as the national language.

Abstract

Language, culture, and mind are closely related, each of these extracts reflects one another. The relationship between language, culture and mind of speakers is a basic idea of Sapir and Whorf's theories and hypotheses. Language politeness that is rooted in the splash of the cultural values of the speaking community, including can be seen from the packaging of the information structure as outlined in the sentence of a language. The construction of different clauses grammatically packs different information structures and politeness values. The way of thinking between cultures as outlined in a writing will be different in the way it is delivered. The purpose of this study is to describe culture in expressive writing, is seen from the hypothesis of Edwar Sapir and Benjamin Lee Whorf.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of the development of teaching materials to write project-based observation report text for class X SMK Telkom 2 Medan. The subjects of this study were students of class X SMK Telkom 2 Medan who were taken as many as 1 class / study group with a total of 30 students. Researchers collected information based on the results of observations of teaching materials in class X SMK Telkom 2 Medan shows that the teaching materials used by teachers so far have only used textbooks without teaching materials in the form of modules as another guide in learning, especially on the text material for the observation report. The results of the effectiveness of teaching materials for writing text c reports on the results of project-based observations (project based learning) on a limited trial, namely 30 students of class X SMK Telkom 2 Medan, namely in the pretest test results obtained an average score of 68.97% with sufficient category . Meanwhile, after using teaching materials to write text modules on the postest test with an average score of 80.83% with a good category. These results state that the teaching materials for writing project-based observation report text after use have a significant increase in student learning outcomes with a difference of 11.86 which indicates that by using the teaching materials to write project-based observation report text learning) student scores are better than before.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a grade IV comic-based Islamic Religious Education textbook as well as to determine the level of eligibility and effectiveness of its use. Initial product development is carried out through preliminary studies in the form of needs analysis and curriculum analysis. The feasibility test was carried out by a questionnaire assessment by three experts, namely material experts, media experts, and comic experts. The effectiveness level of the product can be known through individual, group trials and field trials. The research method used is the R and D or research and development method, with six steps of development, starting from the initial study, initial product, expert validation, individual and group testing, and field testing to the final product. The result is a product in the form of a comic-based grade IV Islamic Religious Education elementary school textbook that is very feasible and effective. The average score for the feasibility test was 90.05% in the Very Eligible category, while the average score for the effectiveness test was 88.67% with the Effective category.

Abstract

This study aimed to: (1) produce appropriate teaching materials to shape the social care character of early childhood, (2) produce effective teaching materials to shape the social care character of early childhood. This type of research was research and development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model. The quantitative data analysis technique used in this study was quantitative descriptive. Qualitative data obtained from the questionnaire were then converted to qualitative data on a scale of 5 (Likert scale). The findings showed that: (1) Teaching materials met the requirements and were appropriate to be used as teaching materials, based on the assessment of material experts, design experts, linguists, and practitioners/ teachers. The result of the validation of the material experts in all aspects of the material was 87.8% in the very good criteria, the result of the validation of the learning design expert in all the aspects was 90.4% in the very good criteria, and the validation of the linguists in all aspects was 93% in the very good criteria. The result of the teacher's response to teaching materials with a total average percentage of all aspects was 93.7% with the “very good” criteria. (2) The teaching material developed was more effective than without using the teaching material. The effectiveness of teaching materials based on social care character based on the values of Franciscan spirituality  developed was 80.2%, and based on Siswanto's  theory was 81.36%. The effectiveness before teaching materials was reviewed based on the values of Franciscan spirituality was 40.72%, and based on Siswanto's theory was 41.2%. Therefore, the development of pictorial story teaching materials was good enough to shape the social care character of early childhood.

Abstract

Reading time is a practice carried out by the school to support the literacy movement in Pekanbaru's Raudaturrahmah SDIT school, the program is held on Friday after Friday prayers, students are provided with 30 minutes of reading any books in school, and students bring books from home, and each week students have to report to the class teacher the results of the books they read, and at the end of each semester the class teacher reports to the school head as a result of reading time. The aim of this research is to analyze GLS activity and program in SDIT Raudaturrahmah Pekanbaru. This research used a qualitative descriptive study, namely research that intends to understand the phenomenon experienced by research subjects holistically by describing it in the form of words in a specific natural context and by utilizing various natural methods as well. The result is The GLS concept applied by SDIT Raudaturrahmah Pekanbaru is at the stage of developing GLS, and has a special GLS program that is reading time which is held every Friday with a time allocation of 30 minutes.
