Abstract

The research approach method is a qualitative approach. The method of data collection is secondary data, secondary data needed is obtained from relevant agencies, namely from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Department of Agriculture as well as other literature related to research. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and analysis of Vector Auto Regression (VAR). The results showed that: 1) The dominant factors affecting rice prices in North Sumatra are 2, the first is 60% production because the higher the production of rice, the price of rice will decline and the lower the production, the price of rice will increase and the second factor is 38% inflation because if the price of rice continues to increase there will be inflation, but it is different from the fact that rice prices fluctuate due to the stability of rice prices. 2) Factors that affect rice prices in North Sumatra in the short term are significant, namely inflation and in the long term there are five significant factors, namely production (prod), harvest area (field), income (inc), consumption (cons) ) and inflation (inf). 3) From Impulse Response Function Analysis, it can be seen that the factors that influence rice prices in North Sumatra can be seen as stability, namely the production variable (Prod) reaches stability in the 25th period, the penen variable (Field) reaches stability in the period 28, the consumption variable (Cons) reaches stability in the 25th period, the income (Inc) variable reaches stability in the 20th period, the inflation variable reaches stability in the 27th period. namely inflation and in the long term there are five significant factors, namely production (prod), harvest area (field), income (inc), consumption (cons) and inflation (inf).

Abstract

Despite of many previous studies related to conceptual metaphor have been conducted since George Lakoff and Mark Johnson have introduced their work known as Metaphor We Live By in 1980, but none of them have analysed oral discourse as their corpus. This study aims to reveal the concept of death belonging to one of the Indonesian indigenous tribes located in Sulawesi Island called Kajang tribe. The Kajang tribe has an ancient oral discourse which delivers orally from generation to generation known as Pasang ri Kajang, and it is full of metaphorical expressions. This present study employs the conceptual metaphor theory (CMT) introduced by Lakoff and Johnson (1980, 2003), and the approach of conceptual metaphor analysis (CMA) by Charteris Black (2004) to reveal the concept of death found in Pasang ri Kajang. This qualitative research obtained the data through semi-structured interviews, field observation, recording, and note-taking. The conceptual metaphor techniques comprising three CMA stages, namely identification, interpretation, and explanation, were used for data analysis. The results of the study indicate that the concept of death as found in Pasang ri Kajang is DEATH IS A JOURNEY. This conceptual metaphor gives a detailed description of death as a journey of the soul to the hereafter. This research concludes that people of Kajang believes only good souls are rewarded with eternal life (Karakkang) and extraordinary wealth (Kalumannyang kaluppepeang) in the hereafter (ahera).

Abstract

The sustainability of the financial business at conventional banks, Islamic banks and cooperatives is emphasized on indicators of socio-culture and society, business profits and the natural environment, research is carried out by conducting studies on literacy derived from previous studies and data released by local authorities. The results showed that the potential for business sustainability of conventional banks in Indonesia is still very good as evidenced by the high profit, the potential for saving people is still very large and the increase in assets and credit distribution, even though Islamic banks are affected by the pandemic, the contraction is very small, besides that Islamic banks are also very low. Good efficiency as well as a very large potential for the Islamic market or around 90% of the total population of Indonesia. Meanwhile, cooperatives in terms of profitability are not good enough, the dominance of millennials and generations who are less interested in cooperatives is an obstacle to the development of cooperatives.
