Abstract

It is a common parlance to say that “a hungry man is an angry man”. This underscores meetinga basic physiological requirementof all humans, especially food, as an antidote to violence (insecurity) in the society. Like in most sub-Saharan African nations, it is vague to concur that mineral resource dysfunction resulting in advent of the war, conflict and national insecurityare the bane of the agricultural sector and food supplyin Nigeria. This paper therefore attempted to study the nexus between food and security towards a peaceful Nigerian society. Food is proxy by food security in four components and nationalsecurity is proxy by non-military four dimensions and forms.Adopting purposive sampling of secondary data and information from literature, published reports on the variables; analyzed using qualitative content analysis of the textual data, the study revealed that amongst/between individuals and or group, food security being an important nugget, there is existing nexus with national security. It concluded that socioeconomic and political stability (national security) in conflict regions in Nigeria is contingent on supplying a basic human need: food. It recommended that including food security issues in security strategic policy is essential to address national insecurity and instability in Nigeria.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the causality between democracy and corruption in Indonesia for the period of 1995 to 2017. This study perform a multivariate cointegration test with government expenditure as a control variable and cross-check this long-run relationship with an Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model approach to cointegration beside multivariate approach proposed by Johansen & Juselius. The results show that there is cointegration among the variables specified in the model of corruption equation when government expenditure is taken into account. Indeed, for corruption and democracy to move together in the long run, they need to be associated with government expenditure. The tests for Granger Causality conducted show a long-run causality running from democracy and government expenditure to corruption. In other word, the democracy and government expenditure Granger cause corruption and not the reverse. In short-run, there is neutrality causation between democracy and corruption.

Abstract

This study aims to find out and analyze the factors that influence customer value and their impact on customer loyalty. This study uses quantitative methods with descriptive and verification approaches using explanatory surveys. The analysis technique uses SEM analysis. From the results of the study obtained data that the factor of consumer psychology moves from the point of not good to good while the customer value factors and customer loyalty moves from good enough to well. Verification results show both partially and simultaneously these factors have a positive and significant effect. Customer value has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty with the magnitude of its influence stronger when compared to consumer psychology and the marketing mix towards customer value. This proves empirically that customer value factors are intervening between consumer psychology and marketing mix with customer loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the duration of assimilation on long vowels. The discussion studied in this study is the calculation of the duration of long vowel assimilation. This study uses acoustic phonetic theory by applying qualitative descriptive methods through observation and data editing techniques. To analyze the data, there are four analytical techniques that are applied, namely the note-taking technique, the sorting technique, the digitization, and the sound segmentation. Meanwhile, for measuring the duration of the assimilation of sounds, this study used the praat program version 4.0.27. After the data analyzed, the results of the study showed that the duration of the reading of long vowel assimilation by reciter 'DH sorted from the longest to the shortest, namely: the word [ʕaʈa: Ɂu] has a duration of 5,665 ms, the word [famaћawna: Ɂayata] has a duration of 4,922 ms, the word [dua : Ɂ] has a duration of 4,717 ms, the word [ʈa: Ɂira] has a duration of 4,106 ms, the word [u: la: Ɂika] has a duration of 4,021 ms, the word [waɁiða: Ɂaradna:] has a duration of 3,570 ms, the word [Ɂaradna: Ɂan] has a duration of 3,256 ms, the word [naʃa: Ɂ] has a duration of 2,844 ms, and the word [ha: Ɂu la: Ɂi] has a duration of 2,444 ms.

A proportional cluster random technique was used to select the sample. In terms of data sources, there were two types: primary and secondary data. To analyze the data, an analysis of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was occupied. The result of the research had indicated that marketing and individual environment association and the customer value had shown unsatisfactory outcome. According to verification research, marketing and individual environment association had significantly contributed to the customer value, both in partial and simultaneous measurements.
