Abstract

This quantitative study investigates the impact of work environment and rewards on employee engagement and performance in BUMDes across Porong District. Using a sample of 104 participants, the research finds that while direct effects of work environment on employee engagement were not significant, both factors indirectly influence performance through enhanced engagement. Key findings highlight the importance of facilities and boredom alleviation in the work environment, as well as learning opportunities within rewards, in shaping performance outcomes. The study underscores the pivotal role of employee engagement, characterized by enthusiasm and support, as a mediator between these variables. The implications suggest that improving work conditions and optimizing reward systems can effectively bolster employee engagement and thereby enhance organizational performance in community-owned enterprises. Highlights: Quantitative study on work environment, rewards, and performance in BUMDes. Finds indirect impact of work environment on performance through engagement. Suggests improving conditions and rewards to boost employee engagement and performance. Keywords: Employee Engagement, Work Environment, Rewards, Performance, BUMDes

Abstract

General Background: The duality of human nature, particularly the conflict between socially acceptable and repressed desires, has been a central theme in both psychology and literature. Freudian psychoanalytic theory, which explores the conscious and unconscious mind, provides a robust framework for understanding this duality. Specific Background: The novels Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, both set in the Victorian era, epitomize the struggle between repressed desires and societal norms. These works have been studied extensively, yet there remains a need for a deeper exploration of how these repressions manifest as doppelgangers and the psychological consequences therein. Knowledge Gap: Although previous studies have addressed the concept of duality in these novels, the specific role of Freudian constructs—such as the id, ego, and super-ego—in shaping the characters' fates remains underexplored. Aims: This study aims to analyze the portrayal of repressed desires through the lens of Freud's psychoanalytic theory, focusing on how these desires lead to the creation of doppelgangers in Frankenstein and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Results: The analysis reveals that the protagonists' repressed desires manifest in their doubles, who ultimately overpower their creators, leading to their downfall. The study shows that the failure of the ego to mediate between the id and the super-ego results in catastrophic consequences. Novelty: This research offers a novel comparative analysis that integrates Freudian theory with literary interpretation, demonstrating how repressed unconscious desires drive the narrative and character development in these works. Implications: The findings suggest broader implications for understanding the psychological effects of repression in both literature and real-world contexts, particularly within the framework of societal expectations and individual desires. Highlights: Freudian Constructs: Id, ego, and super-ego drive character actions and outcomes. Doppelganger Analysis: Repressed desires surface through literary doubles, leading to downfall. Victorian Idealism: Conflict between societal norms and hidden ambitions creates tension. Keywords: Freudian psychoanalysis, duality, repression, doppelganger, Victorian literature

Abstract

The General Background Water is essential for human life, but many rural areas still lack access to clean drinking water that meets health standards. In Sumbergedang Village, Pandaan, local water sources are often contaminated by dissolved metals and bacteria, posing risks to community health. Current filtration methods in the area are insufficient, and limited studies explore the combined use of silica sand, activated carbon, manganese zeolite, and UV sterilization for improving rural water quality. This study aims to evaluate the performance of these filtration materials and UV sterilization in producing safe drinking water for the village. The results show that the filtration system increased the pH of the water from 7.94 to 7.98, within acceptable drinking water standards. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of filtration materials with UV sterilization to address both chemical and microbial contaminants, offering a comprehensive solution for water purification. The findings suggest that, while the system effectively improves most water quality parameters, additional treatments may be required to reduce aluminum levels to meet national drinking water standards. These results have important implications for water management in rural areas facing similar challenges. Highlihts: The study combines mangan zeolite, silica sand, and activated carbon with UV sterilization for effective water purification. Filtration and UV treatment significantly reduced turbidity, odors, and bacterial contamination in spring water. Aluminum levels exceeded permissible limits, indicating the need for further modifications to the filtration system. Keywords: Water quality, filtration, UV sterilization, rural communities, aluminum levels

Abstract

General background of this research focuses on the use of medical record forms in inpatient clinics, particularly at the Afifa Prambon Clinic. Specific background indicates that the forms currently used may not meet expected standards, both in terms of physical, anatomical, and content aspects. Knowledge gap lies in the lack of comprehensive analysis of the compliance of these forms with Huffman's theory. The aim of this study is to analyze the design of medical record forms at the Afifa Clinic based on physical, anatomical, and content aspects. Results of the research show that the physical aspect of the form is inadequate, such as the use of paper material that easily tears, and the anatomical aspect also does not meet standards, including the absence of form numbers and filling instructions. The novelty of this study lies in identifying the elements that need improvement in the form design and providing recommendations for enhancements. The implication of this research emphasizes the importance of improving form design to enhance the quality of medical record filling, which in turn can contribute to better healthcare services in the clinic. Highlight: Role of Music: National songs serve as powerful tools for fostering patriotism among students. Teacher Involvement: Teachers play a crucial role in integrating national songs into the curriculum. Cognitive Connection: Singing national songs enhances students' emotional and cognitive ties to their country. Keyword: Nationalism, Education, National Songs, Character Development, Patriotism

Abstract

The general background highlights the growing popularity of coffee enemas, necessitating improvements in product design for better usability and economic viability. The specific background addresses inefficiencies in existing enema basket designs, which often lack user-friendly features. The knowledge gap identified is the absence of systematic approaches to optimize both manufacturing and assembly processes for this product category. The aim of the research is to develop a more efficient and safer design by employing the DFMA methodology. Results indicate that the new design not only reduces the number of components by two but also achieves a 36% improvement in assembly time and a 13% reduction in assembly costs. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of additional safety features while maintaining component efficiency, enabling multiple uses through a removable filter design. The implications suggest that adopting DFMA in product development can significantly enhance both economic and functional aspects, providing a model for future designs in consumer health products. Further research is recommended to incorporate Quality Function Deployment (QFD) for gathering consumer feedback to refine the design according to user preferences. Highlights: The study uses DFMA to enhance the efficiency and safety of coffee enema baskets. The new design reduces assembly time by 36% and costs by 13%. Incorporation of safety features and a removable filter for multiple uses addresses existing usability issues. Keywords: Coffee Enema, DFMA, Product Design, User Safety, Assembly Efficiency
