Abstract

Based on preliminary studies, studies that examine the significance of the impact related to a program, method, model, media, learning resources, and the like to improve student character are still rare. This study aims to evaluate the information found in articles about character education in Indonesia. The research design uses content analysis. The instruments used are aspects and categories related to research type, quantitative, and qualitative research type. The research instrument was modified from Susetyarini and Fauzi. The research findings show that in the last five years, research on character education has fluctuated but increased significantly in 2023. During this period, the dominant study design used was qualitative. The descriptive type was in the highest position, followed by historical research, while quantitative research was rarely applied. In terms of treatment, the articles analyzed have yet to find the application of a particular learning model, method, or technique in improving students' character. Based on these results, quantitative research is still rarely applied in studying character education. It is intended that other researchers, particularly those using quantitative methods, can use the findings to detect problems in studying character education, specifically the influence/correlation of certain variables on improving student character.

Abstract

The development of art in early childhood education is an important area to pay attention to. The existence of digital technology that can be used in the education field can help educators optimize art activities with local wisdom themes to maximize children's art learning. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show a close correlation between art events and efforts to preserve local wisdom. Local wisdom that is preserved includes extracurricular angklung, vocals with traditional song themes, and dances accompanied by traditional Javanese songs. Schools provide facilities for children to learn about various arts through school contributions to art competitions and events that amaze local wisdom. Schools also actively document every art activity on social media. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that art events and social media are a brand of art learning and a bridge to introduce local wisdom. Social media containing various children's art events can also provide positive value for school institutions and increase the school's market value among the community.

Abstract

The tourism industry in Indonesia is faced with various challenges in facing the dynamics of competition while still paying attention to sustainability, especially amidst the government's efforts to develop new super-priority destinations close to the National Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan, namely Derawan Island, Berau Regency. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of local wisdom-based differentiation strategies in increasing the competitiveness of Derawan Island tourist destinations. The research method uses a mixed method. The population in this study were tourists at Derawan Island tourist attractions, where the local government, destination managers, business actors, and local communities became the primary informants, and tourists became informants. Quantitative sampling was carried out using purposive sampling of 80 people. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and surveys and analyzed using thematic and inferential statistics. The study results showed that local wisdom-based differentiation strategies significantly and positively affected Derawan Island's competitiveness. This can support the development of marketing strategies oriented towards local wisdom to increase the attractiveness of tourist destinations and create sustainable added value. There needs to be synergy from all stakeholders in maintaining cultural authenticity while increasing tourist appeal.

Abstract

In the digital transformation era, teachers play a pivotal role in shaping educational outcomes while facing challenges posed by modern curricula, including Indonesia's Merdeka Curriculum. This study investigates teachers' specific needs for AI-based applications, focusing on lesson planning, administrative tasks, and personalized teaching approaches. Employing a cross-sectional survey, data were collected from 300 teachers across Java and Bali, spanning early childhood to vocational education. The findings highlight significant difficulties in aligning lessons with student-centered principles and diverse learner needs despite considerable enthusiasm for AI's potential to reduce workloads and enhance efficiency. Nonetheless, ethical concerns and limited training remain issues. Critical factors for successful AI adoption include time efficiency, ease of use, curriculum alignment, and cost. These insights guide developers and policymakers in creating localized, user-friendly, and accessible AI solutions. In conclusion, effectively designed AI-based tools, coupled with sufficient professional development, can improve teacher readiness and performance, offering a pathway to more effective implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and advancing Indonesia's educational landscape.

Abstract

In the 21st century, students have not utilized technology well. They are used to using cell phones primarily for entertainment, such as playing online games. They have not fully utilized technology for education, which can develop their digital literacy. Thus, they lack digital literacy. This study aimed to analyze digital literacy using an educational application named “Quizziz” in the Civic Education course. The respondents were 106 1st-semester students taking the Civic Education course. The data were obtained using a questionnaire containing 20 written statements and responses via Google Forms. The average and the AAL (Average Achievement Level) were calculated and categorized according to the category table for data analysis. This study revealed that the total average of 4 digital literacy competencies was 4.37 with an AAL of 87.4%, which was categorized as good. This shows that using Quizizz in the Civic Education course can positively affect the digital literacy of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program of STAHN Mpu Kuturan. This research contributes knowledge about using technology-based learning to improve students' digital literacy.
