Abstract

Abstract— The 1 MN lever-type force standard machine operated by Research Center for Metrology Indonesian Institute of Sciences (RCM-LIPI) is the national standard for calibration of force measuring instruments from 2 kN to 1 MN measurement range. One of the assurances to ensure that the machine works well is through a system check. System check is carry out by comparing the force value generated by the machine to the force generated by the deadweight at capacity of 10 kN and 20 kN. In this paper, data is collected from the system check results from 2007 to 2016. Data processing is carried out by comparing the result and examining the variants similarities. Results showed that the |En| number results for all data spread from 0.00 to 0.91 with average 0.35 and variance of the system check results has variants similarities based on Fisher-test. These results indicate that the 1 MN lever-type force standard machine still has a good performance.

Abstract

Jet pulse system portable fogging machine is used to control pest, vector, damaging micro organism and unpleasant odor. The machine produces and sprays out fog. One of the fogging machine testing parameters is droplet size accuracy level testing complying with SNI-05-7190-2006. At the moment, the droplet measurement is done by manual estimation using scaled microscope, but this method is not effective. Therefore, a new method is needed to support the testing effectively and efficiently. As a result, application software to measure droplet diameter of the fogging machine is made. The droplet diameter measurement result has been tested and it is certain that the result is close to the values of manual estimation. Abstract

A field sound transmission loss measurement to obtain the field sound transmission class (FSTC) from partition between spaces on 27th floor Tower "A" in Jakarta was conducted in April 1st, 2017. The measurement graph showed that, although the trend indicates an increase, but the graph shape like saw tooth shape indicates sound leakages. This measurement yielded 41 dB for the FSTC rating, which is considered far from the previous expectation, about 50 dB. After further analysis, the most dominant sound leakage was contributed by flanking noise via ducting works.Keywords: field sound transmission loss measurement, field sound transmission class, FSTC, sound leakage.

Abstract

Struktur kristal goethite dapat berubah pada temperatur yang cukup rendah, seperti sedikit struktur hematite (α-Fe2O3) yang terbentuk pada temperatur 140oC. Pada penelitian ini, goethite (α-FeOOH) disintesis melalui dua metode, yaitu metode hidrotermal dan metode pengadukan. Hasil pengukuran difraksi X-ray dari kedua metode dibandingkan satu sama lain untuk mendapatkan metode sintesis yang paling optimal. Berdasarkan hasil fitting antara hasil pengukuran dan literatur melalui metode rietveld, metode pengadukan memiliki parameter kecocokan pola difraksi yang lebih baik dibandingkan metode hidrotermal. Metode pengadukan menghasilkan parameter GOF sebesar 3,8, sedangkan metode hidrotermal sebesar 122 akibat munculnya fase baru yang tumbuh, yaitu hematite (Fe2O3).

Abstract

Optimasi penalaan parameter kontroler PID selalu didasarkan terhadap karakteristik suatu proses plant, maka dari itu perilaku plant harus diketahui terlebih dahulu sebelum optimasi penalaan parameter PID dilakukan. Karena penyusunan model matematik plant itu tidak mudah, maka dikembangkan suatu metoda eksperimental yaitudimana variabel proses yang diukur merespon secara terus menerus untuk mengubah sinyal keluaran kontroler yang mana fundamental dalam desain dan penalaan parameter kontroler PID. Parameter kontroleryang model dinamis tidak hanya digunakan dalam korelasi untuk menghitung nilai penalaan, tetapi juga memberikan pengetahuan yang dalampadadesainparameter seperti kontrol lup, waktu sampling dan keadaan waktu mati dalam kinerja unjuk kerja. Optimasi proses dilakukan dengan membandingkan penalaankontroler menggunakan metode Ziegler-Nichols untukkurva reaksi proses dan osilasi serta metode Cohen-Coon. Metode ini dibandingkan berdasarkan unjuk kinerja. Optimasi penalaan parameter kontrolerPID dengan metode kurva reaksi proses pada sistem kontrol level untuk pengolahan air gambut menjadi air bersih diperoleh data optimasi penalaan, untuk P = 132%, I = 9,140 menit, D = 2,285 menit, Ts = 60, yang menunjukkan desain dapat direkomendasikan.

Abstract

Mining areas in Indonesia still use water sources from the pit lake, called Kolong. Kolong is raw water material of the water local company (PDAM) in obtaining clean water. The lake water usually processed with chemical and physicsmethods before distributed to the community. Whereas in fact the former mine lake water has a heavy metal content that is still relatively high. In mining areas, river and lake water are still polluted by heavy metals that harm living things that can not be decomposed directly by microorganisms naturally and even require a relatively long time to process them. Processed by using Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) and Electromagnetic Water Treatment (EWT) become one of the processing alternatives by removing the heavy metals. The advantage of using this method is high efficiency, ability to process will not cause another waste andincluding as clean technology. The aim of this research activity is to test integrated water treatment system using the physical and chemical method by utilizing surface water contaminated by heavy metals through a combination of advanced oxidation technology and electromagnetic water treatment for physics-chemical water quality improvement which can be utilized by PDAM as raw water to get clean water. This research comparing no processing water, processing water with AOPs and EWT, then combining AOPs-EWT. The result of heavy metal removal in water can be reduced up to ± 90%.

Abstract

EFFECTS OF MILLING TIME ON MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF Ni-C COMPOSITES. A study on the effect of milling time to magnetic properties of Ni-C composites has been carried out. The composite materials of Ni-C was prepared by mixing nickel and carbon (C) powders with the weight ratio of Ni and C is 2% : 98%, and by varying the milling time for 25, 50 and 75 hours using High Energy Milling (HEM) technique. Results of identification by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) showed that X-ray diffraction peak intensity decreased and particle size was going smaller with the increasing of milling time. Whereas the optimal milling time for Ni-C composite system is 50 hours. This is indicated by the largest surface area (about 483 m2/g) and highest magnetic properties of Ni-C compared with other milling time. The results of magnetic parameter value for milling time of 50 hours shows the highest values of Ms (Saturated Magnetization), Mr (Remanence Magnetization) and Hc (Coercive Field) i.e. 2.29 emu/g, 0.43 emu/g and 0.017 Tesla, respectively. The highest value of magnetoresistance ratio (MR) i.e. 14.22% at 7.5 kOe magnetic field was also reached. Keywords : Ni-C Composites, Milling Technique, Magnetic Parameters, Magnetoresistance Ratio.

Abstract

An approach method to evaluate the topography of narrow surface plate has been proposed. In some cases, the calibration of narrow surface plate would be very diffcult to carry out when using the electronic level, the autocollimator, or the laser interferometer. Therefore, the mechanical probe and universal measuring machine can be used as an alternative standard since they can substitute the function of measurements that was performed by the third measuring instruments. In this research, the narrow surface plate is represented by rectangular granite blocks of 600 mm x 90 mm in dimension, while the measuring standard is a mechanical probe of 0.01 μm in resolution and a universal measuring machine. The readings from the mechanical probe and universal measuring machine were analyzed by numerical methods to obtain information about the topography of the surface. As per the result, this proposed method can be applied to evaluate the topography of narrow surface plate, but this method still requires to be compared with the other method to validate the measurement procedure.Keywords: Surface flatness, Numerical analysis, Mechanical probe

Abstract

Evaluasi terhadap mesin standar torsi Puslit Metrologi–LIPI pada rentang 5–50 N∙m telah dilakukan dengan melakukan uji banding secara bilateral dengan National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ). Uji banding ini dilakukan pada sepuluh titik ukur dari 5–50 N∙m untuk torsi searah jarum jam dan berlawanan arah jarum jam dengan menggunakan torque transducer sebagai artefak. Tujuan dari uji banding ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi ketidakpastian mesin standar torsi deadweight Puslit Metrologi pada rentang 5–50 N∙m yang ditetapkan sebesar 0,04 %. Hasil uji banding menunjukkan kesesuaian hasil pengukuran Puslit Metrologi dengan hasil pengukuran NMIJ dengan |En| terbesar untuk torsi searah jarum jam adalah 0,17 dan untuk torsi berlawanan arah jarum jam adalah 0,26.
