Abstract

It’s important to intervene with young people, especially regarding smoking, because if they start smoking they will be addicted and will continue to smoke until old age which can cause various health problems and even death. This study aims to describe and analyze the association between knowledge about cigarette smoking and social environment with smoking behavior among university students. This study used a cross-sectional design. Data was obtained by filling out online questionnaires. The study population was students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur with a sample of 311 respondents. Students with a smoking social environment were 267 people (85.9%) while students in a non-smoking social environment were 44 people (14.1%). Students with good knowledge were 91 people (29.3%) and students with no good knowledge 220 people (70.7%). Students who never smoked as many as 240 people (77.2%), former smokers 33 people (10.6%), and currently smokers 38 people (12.2%). The result of statistical analysis showed that there was no significant association between knowledge and social environment with smoking behavior. Students’ smoking behavior was not significantly related to their knowledge and their social environment. Several other factors may have more influence on students’ smoking behavior.

Abstract

In Industry 4.0, where the internet and information technology have become primary needs, it is necessary to integrate information technology with the world of business and industry. The business world and industry need new skills. Higher Education, especially polytechnics as producers of expert workers, has not produced many graduates with competencies that are relevant to current conditions. Therefore, a curriculum is needed that can create graduates suitable for the needs of the business and industrial world. This research aims to design an integrated curriculum between business and industry that will be applied in the Applied Bachelor Program in Business Information Systems at the State Polytechnic of Malang. Qualitative research methods were used in this study, and literature studies and discussions were carried out with several industry curriculum experts and practitioners from the industry. The redesigned curriculum requires several analyses such as several data sources, namely curriculum evaluation which contains analysis from the previous curriculum, study materials or literature study and input from industry through tracer studies. The curriculum is made by paying attention to pedagogical learning and integrating industry, business and informatics. The redesigned curriculum also pays attention to the body of knowledge (BOK) by taking similar knowledge covering four main areas: information system strategy and management, information system development, operation, and evaluation of information system solutions. The results of this study are in the form of graduate profiles and a learning outcome matrix that is following the study material and the integration between business and informatics for applied undergraduate polytechnics.

Abstract

The State Polytechnic of Malang has created a learning system that uses gamification as one method to improve student motivation in their academic work. Massive Open Online Courses, or MOOCs for short, are one of the learning strategies used. They are open to everyone and offer online learning opportunities with no cap on the number of students who can enroll. Gamification has been implemented in the State Polytechnic of Malang MOOC system for teaching web programming design to overcome concerns with the online learning system. To make learning more interesting and motivating, the MOOC system implements the concept of gamification. Research and development (R&D) techniques were employed in this study to validate the gamification design process. The study was conducted using two types of scenarios to test the level of student motivation from the use of MOOCs. Using gamification and MOOC is a new phenomenon in open learning and is known as a good strategy di Independent Campuses. Gamification consists of the show that badges, leader boards, and performance graphs positively affect competence need satisfaction. The calculation of the change in motivation is obtained by the activeness of students in answering quizzes, uploading the results of the Job sheet, and claiming rewards in each activity. The reward is one of the important points in gamification that can be used as a parameter to increase student motivation in studying any given material.

Abstract

The COVID-19 disease first appeared in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. Until now, the disease was caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This disease then spread to almost all countries and was declared a pandemic. One of the steps to prevent a wider spread is through vaccination. Acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine has an important role in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 vaccine has a pretty good preventive effect, but its effectiveness really depends on the dose, disease severity, and type of COVID-19. Most people, including health workers, are not willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The reason is the lack of knowledge and also the side effects of the vaccine, which affects the acceptance of the vaccine. The purpose of this study was to assess knowledge, perception and acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine. This study uses a literature study approach and uses 4 review articles. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the analysis show that most people have insufficient knowledge about the COVID-19 vaccine. Perceptions of vaccines are also lacking because they feel unsure about the COVID-19 vaccine. Most health workers have good knowledge so that it is easier for them to accept the COVID-19 vaccine. The government needs to increase access to information about the COVID-19 vaccine so that people are willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting health but also education. The impact is online learning. After the condition of the coronavirus has decreased globally, WHO made a policy regarding the new normal. In Indonesia, the impact of this policy is the learning system through offline and online methods (hybrid learning). Students learn at home and school alternately. The teacher makes various preparations, selects learning tools, and innovates so that students have an interest in learning, are not bored, and succeed. The addition of teachers' tasks and responsibilities resulted in work stress. This study aims to determinants of work stress for elementary school teachers during the implementation of a hybrid system during the COVID-19 pandemic: a case study of Cilacap and Tuban districts. A cross-sectional study was performed on 124 respondents. Age, gender, and working period using a self-data questionnaire, mental workload using NASA-TLX, and work stress using the HSE 2003 questionnaire. Spearman tests were performed to correlate age, gender, working period, and mental workload with work stress. There was a significant correlation between age (p=0.001), working period (p=0.002), mental workload (p=0.001), and work stress. Gender (p=0.690) did not correlate with work stress. Based on the results of studies that have been carried out, factors that correlate with work stress are age, working period, and mental workload. The factors that do not correlate with work stress are gender. Teachers are recommended to adapt to a hybrid learning system.
