Abstract

Society is a group of people who interact with each other, in scientific terms is interacting with each other. A human unit can have infrastructure through which its citizens can interact with each other. The role of the community is very important because it can obtain information about environmental conditions, needs, and real community attitudes. One of the endemic birds of prey found in Indonesia is the Javanese Eagle (Nisaetus bartelsi). The Javan Eagle population is increasingly threatened with extinction due to illegal trade, poaching, and land constriction. The Nature Reserve of Mount Picis is a place for flora and fauna to live, grow, and develop well, including the Javanese Eagle. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the community towards the Javanese eagle population in the area of ??Mount Picis Ponorogo Nature Reserve. This method is a descriptive study using qualitative research methods. The results of the study explained that the community realized that the area was a protection for sloping land, a storage for water, air, plants and animals that provided benefits to the people around the area. Efforts made to increase community active participation in preserving the area are community empowerment, through various assistance provided by the government. In 2013 and 2014, there were 3 Javanese eagles, consisting of 2 adults and 1 teenager. In 2015, the observation team found 1 Javanese eagle family consisting of 2 adults and 1 teenager. In 2016, 1 young Javanese eagle was released. In 2017, the observation team found 1 adult Javanese eagle. In 2018 who found 1 adult Javanese eagle, and in other locations found 1 young Javanese eagle and 1 adult Javanese eagle. Then in 2019, 1 adult Javanese eagle was released, so it is known that the estimated population of Javanese eagles in this conservation area is 3-4 individuals. The results of the study explain that the role of the community is very important for the survival of the Javanese eagle in the Mount Picis Nature Reserve area. This is evidenced by the cooperation between area guard officers (government) and the community around the area. Together, they maintain and preserve the flora and fauna so that the balance of the ecosystem is maintained properly. Key words: nature reserves; Javanese Eagle; Public; population

Abstract

The agricultural sector plays an important role in the economy in Indonesia, one of which is the plantation sub-sector. Sugarcane is one of the many plantation crops that have high economic value and are the main ingredient of the sugar industry. Sugar is one of the nine staples that are often used by people in their daily lives, and is an important element when driving the national economy. The Wringin Anom Sugar Factory itself is part of the PTPN XI Surabaya work unit which produces sugar. The decline in sugar production has an impact on the decline in the contribution of the sugar industry in Indonesia in achieving sugar self-sufficiency. Improving and enhancing sustainable supply chain management in the sugar industry is expected to increase production yields and be able to maximize added value. This study aims to determine the condition of the sugarcane supply chain at the Wringin Anom Sugar Factory, Situbondo. The method used in this research is descriptive analytical. The research location is the Wringin Anom Sugar Factory in Situbondo Regency. The results show that the sugarcane supply chain structure at the Wringin Anom Sugar Factory has less than optimal performance.

Abstract

One of the low production of potatoes is the lack of land carrying capacity. The availability of nutrients greatly affects the growth and yield of plants. During this time excessive and continuous use of inorganic fertilizers can lead to a decrease in soil fertility rates. Paitan plants have only been used as a fence plant and still not widely used as a producer of organic nutrients, especially in potatoes. Utilization of mexican sunflower as a supplier of organic materials can be done easily and efficiently because mexican sunflower plants are very easy to get and grown widely. This plants are widespread in the region of East Java. The purpose of this research is to obtain the potential of paitan as a supplier of organic materials to increase growth and yield of granola potato optimum. This study used experimental method with Randomized Group Design (RGD). Treatment using mexican sunflower dose (D) consists of: D0 = Control, without fertilization, D1 = 120 kg N/ha equivalent to fresh mexican sunflower 5.882 ton/ha, D2 = 175 kg N/ha equivalent to fresh mexican sunflower 8.578 ton/ha, D3 = 230 kg N/ha equivalent to fresh mexican sunflower 11,273 ton/ha, D4 = 175 kg N/ha Urea equivalent to 380 kg/ha, P2O 149.76 kg/ha, K2O 100 kg/ha. The results of the study obtained mexican sunflower with a dose of fertilization 11,273 ton/ha equivalent to 230 kg N/ha (D3) can produce growth and yield of the highest potato crops. Mexican sunflower as an organic fertilizer can improve soil fertility and be able to provide nutrients to plants.

Abstract

This area is a mangrove forest with a natural and high plant density. The existence of mangrove forest tourism activities allows human intervention in mangrove habitat, which will have an impact on carbon storage in the soil. This research aims to determine the carbon stock in the soil in the mangrove area of Wonorejo, Surabaya. The study was conducted by surveying the land by dividing the mangrove forest land into 4 zones based on a perpendicular coastline. Environmental observations include the number of plants and the physical and chemical characteristics of the soil. The results showed that the mangroves of the Avecennia family dominated the near-shore zone and the mangroves of the Rhizophora family dominated zones 3 and 4. The growth diversity of mangroves tended to be low in each plant family, while in each zone the diversity of mangroves was at moderate levels. In soil characteristics, the texture tends to be dusty and dusty clay, with high pH, EC and Redox values. The results of the measurement of carbon stocks in the mangrove forest area ranged from 1.04 to 1.45 Mg Ha-1.

Abstract

TSS (True Shallot Seed) as a solution to the problem of seed availability, but farmers still use tuber seeds for shallot production. This is because the aspects of TSS shallot cultivation are still not widely known and must be reviewed. This study aims to obtain information on the variability of onion varieties from TSS seeds compared with those from tubers. This research was conducted on farmers' land in Ketindan village, Lawang district, Malang Regency. The research was carried out using a randomized block design with two factors, namely: The first factor consisted of two treatments: T1: TSS came from the Bauji variety and T2: TSS came from NTB Ketamonca and the second factor was the radiation dose with three treatments R1: gamma ray radiation dose 60Co 15 Gy, R2: 60Co gamma ray radiation dose 30 Gy, R3: 60Co gamma beam radiation side with three repetitions. Bauji (tuber seed) control variety. The results of this study were that there were variations in the character of the color and shape of the tubers in the two varieties of red onion TSS. Bauji variety has higher leaf length, pseudo stem diameter, leaf diameter and number of leaves per pseudo stem compared to comparison varieties (Bauji, seed from tuber). Based on the dry weight value per clump on the average variety, the Bauji BM 8705 variety was not significantly different from the comparison varieties (Bauji, seed from tubers).

Abstract

Indonesian konjac (Amorphophallus onchophyllus L.) are plants that contain high glucomannan substances and have distinctive growth characteristics that are influenced by weather changes. When entering the rainy season, the seeds grow and when they enter the dry season is dormancy, so the active growth period for konjac is only about 4 - 5 months. Seeds for cultivation of konjac, apart from being tubers, can also use bulbils or seeds. One of the efforts to promote the growth of konjac plants is the application of the growth regulator CPPU (N- (2-Chloro-4-pyridinyl) -N-phenylurea) as a cytokinin that effectively inhibits aging and accelerates cell division. The research objectives were to determine the interaction between the treatment of CPPU concentration and the kind seed source, to determine the effective concentration of CPPU and to determine the best type of seed source for konjac cultivation. The factorial experiment with two factors was arranged in a randomized block design (RBD) with 3 replications. The first factor in the treatment of CPPU concentration consisted of 4 levels (control, 5 ppm, 10 ppm and 15 ppm) and the second factor was the kind of seed source consisting of 3 types of seeds (tubers, bulbils and seeds). The results showed that there was no significant interaction of combination treatment of CPPU concentration and kinds of seed sources on the growth and yield of konjac plants. The concentration of growth regulators CPPU significantly affected tuber weight, increased tuber weight, tuber diameter and active growth period. The CPPU concentration of 15 ppm produced the highest weight of konjac tubers. The source of seedlings from bulbil is better than the source of seed from tubers and seeds in terms of increasing tuber weight.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the environmental management model in coastal areas based on ecosystems; Al-Khairat Islamic Boarding School in Central Sulawesi, Case Study. Optimizing environmental conservation is done through many factors, and religious elements become one of these factors; religion becomes a way to shape the character of its adherents in protecting their environment. Islam as a religion has teachings that direct its supporters to protect the environment adequately so that the instructions are in harmony with the concept of environmental conservation. This research uses ekopesantren theory with several indicators. First, the pesantren policy that carries out environmental management by utilizing the land to create artificial forests. Utilization is based on agroforestry, agro silvopasteur and agro fishery approach. The zone of mangrove forest utilization can help food security and environmental preservation in the boarding school environment. The existence of an artificial lake as a water catchment area supports efforts to conserve water in boarding schools. It also serves as a water reserve through rainwater collection so that it can minimize the occurrence of flooding. Second, participatory activity-based environmental development policies. Islamic boarding schools make santri as an aid team in overcoming natural disasters and ecological disasters to minimize environmental damage, social impacts, and economic losses. The environmental management model carried out by the Al-Khairat Islamic Boarding School in Palu in the coastal area and geographically crossed by the equator, can reduce environmental damage and can be used as a role model in disaster mitigation and eco-implementation implementation.
