Abstract

Digital transformation in the health sector requires health service facilities to adopt electronic medical records as an effort to increase efficiency, effectiveness and quality of service. This research aims to analyze the application of electronic medical records to the quality of health services using the human organization technology-fit method at RSU Madani Medan in 2025. This type of research is quantitative, cross sectional in nature. The population in this study was all 222 health workers who used electronic medical records. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a sample size of 69 employees. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire sheet with a Guttman measurement scale. The results of data analysis were processed using SPSS with the Chi-Square test. Data obtained from the human aspect shows no influence of the implementation of RME on the quality of health services with a p-value of 0.760 > α 0.05. From the organizational aspect, there is no influence of the implementation of RME on the quality of health services with a p-value of 0.688 > α 0.05. From the technological aspect, there is an influence of the implementation of RME on the quality of health services with a p-value of 0.035 < α 0.05. From the net-benefit aspect, there is no effect of implementing RME on the quality of health services with a p-value of 0.804 > α 0.05. Suggestions for hospitals to pay more attention to the process of implementing electronic medical records so that electronic medical records can be fully optimized at RSU Madani Medan so as to increase patient satisfaction in the future.

Abstract

This study discusses occupational health and safety (OHS) risk analysis in chemical management at the Environmental Laboratory Unit of Asahan District. Using the HIRARC method, the study aims to identify hazards, assess risk levels, and determine control measures to prevent work accidents caused by exposure to hazardous chemicals in the laboratory. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis was carried out using the HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) approach to identify potential hazards, assess risk levels based on consequence and likelihood, and formulate appropriate risk control measures in the laboratory. The results showed various potential hazards in chemical management, such as corrosive, flammable, and toxic substances. Based on HIRARC analysis, several high-risk activities were found that require immediate control. Control recommendations include elimination, substitution, engineering controls, safe work procedures, and consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The study concludes that chemical management in laboratories has a high risk to occupational safety. Continuous implementation of the HIRARC method is needed to identify and control hazards. Recommendations include enhancing OHS training, regular use of PPE, and improving work procedures and infrastructure to minimize potential accidents.

Abstract

The implementation of electronic medical records (EMR) is an innovation in hospital service systems aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of healthcare services. However, the success of EMR implementation greatly depends on the compliance of health workers in accurately and completely filling out medical records. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with compliance in completing medical record documentation during EMR implementation at RSUD Sultan Sulaiman, Serdang Bedagai Regency, in 2025. This is a quantitative analytic study using a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of healthcare workers directly involved in EMR documentation. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between human factors (man), machine factors, and material factors with compliance in EMR documentation. These findings suggest that the quality of human resources, readiness of technological infrastructure, and availability of supportive tools significantly influence the success of EMR implementation. Therefore, regular training, enhanced technological support, and strong managerial commitment are essential to improve compliance and the overall effectiveness of EMR systems in hospitals.

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate (MMR) remains a significant public health concern in Indonesia and serves as a key indicator in achieving the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the major contributing factors to the high MMR is the delay in recognizing and managing pregnancy danger signs, which is often due to a lack of knowledge among pregnant women. Additionally, the suboptimal coverage of antenatal care (ANC) visits exacerbates this issue, as fewer women receive critical information during pregnancy. Providing education to pregnant women is a strategic effort to enhance their understanding and foster positive attitudes throughout pregnancy. One educational medium that can be utilized is the flipchart an interactive, visual, and communicative tool designed to deliver health information in an engaging and easy-to-understand manner. This study aimed to analyze the effect of flipchart-based education on improving pregnant women’s knowledge of pregnancy danger signs. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test–post-test approach was employed. The sample consisted of 17 primigravida women receiving antenatal care at Juliana Dalimunthe Clinic, selected through purposive sampling. A validated and reliable knowledge questionnaire was administered before and after the educational intervention. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge among pregnant women regarding danger signs of pregnancy following the educational intervention, with a significance value of p = 0.004. These findings indicate that flipchart media is an effective educational tool in maternal health promotion. Not only does it improve maternal understanding of danger signs, but it is also expected to enhance awareness and motivation to attend regular ANC visits. Therefore, it is recommended that healthcare providers optimize the use of flipcharts in health education and counseling sessions for pregnant women, as part of preventive efforts to reduce complications.
