Abstract

Tradition is not something new and foreign among Javanese people, especially rural areas. Its existence is inherent and becomes an inseparable part in various aspects of life. This research is a descriptive qualitative analytical research. Data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. Data processing using triangulation by combining various data collection techniques and existing data sources to obtain valid conclusions. The data analysis used is an interactive data analysis technique, namely reducing various data so that it can be presented in order to obtain conclusions. This research aims to describe the practice of sticky rice belt 'nyabuki' in the Pati community and explain the instillation of family educational values contained therein. The research results show that the sticky rice belt 'nyabuki' tradition is a unique tradition that has been practiced by the people of Sitirejo Village during the Year of the Widower for generations. The 'nyabuki' procession is carried out by a woman by attaching a 'belt' made from gemblong/jadah made from sticky rice to her brother's waist with the hope that this year his brother will always be protected by Allah SWT, receive all goodness and avoid all evil.  This 'nyabuki' traditional practice instills family educational values that are very important for each member, namely: love, mutual help, patience, and praying for each other's goodness. This tradition is a reminder of the importance of maintaining cultural values in society.AbstrakTradisi bukanlah sesuatu yang  baru dan asing  di kalangan masyarakat jawa, khususnya daerah pedesaan. Abstract

Indonesia's "drug emergency" is a term that has emerged due to the increasingly widespread circulation and abuse of drugs in society. Data from the Indonesian National Narcotics Board (BNN) for 2024 shows drug abuse prevalence among ages 15-64 is 5.8%, and in 2023 it was 1.73%. This figure indicates an increase of 4.07%. This situation has influenced the rising number of former drug addicts undergoing rehabilitation at Al Ghozali Islamic Boarding School in Kediri and Sirajuth Tholibin Dua Saman Al Hadad Islamic Boarding School in Blitar. Both boarding schools use an Islamic psychotherapy approach as a means of rehabilitation to develop the spiritual intelligence of former drug addicts. The purpose of this research is to understand the process and post-rehabilitation changes resulting from the Islamic psychotherapy approach. The study uses a qualitative approach with a multi-site research design. The research findings are: (1) The rehabilitation process begins with identity registration, an assessment of individual needs, individual counseling spiritual guidance ("siraman rohani") provided by the caregivers, and rehabilitation support. (2) Post-rehabilitation changes include: awareness of the obligation to worship, application of the concepts of hablum minallah and hablum minannas, a tendency to forgive and be compassionate, caution in speech and action, and the courage to take responsibility. Thus, Islamic psychotherapy not only cures drug addiction but also helps build spiritual resilience in individuals.

Abstract

This study analyzes how digital discourse practices in the Instagram content of Akal Indonesia (@akal.indo) recontextualize religious messages, thereby constructing liquid religiosity in contemporary digital society. The research employs a qualitative approach using Norman Fairclough’s three-dimensional Critical Discourse Analysis, while Zygmunt Bauman’s Liquid Modernity serves as the interpretative framework at the level of social practice. The data consist of seven purposively selected Instagram carousel posts. The findings reveal that religious recontextualization operates through four discourse patterns: religion in everyday life, the integration of religious language with popular psychology, religion as a space for self-reflection and self-management, and the negotiation of religious authority. This study proposes a mechanism of religious recontextualization in digital spaces as a conceptual framework for understanding the transformation of religiosity in modern digital society.

Abstract

Limited access to formal and mosque-based Islamic education often leaves marginalized informal workers excluded from sustained religious learning. This study explores the meaning and practice of Dakwah on the Street in Pare–Kediri as a form of community-based nonformal Islamic education. Using a phenomenological approach, the study involved one principal dakwah practitioner and eighteen participants, including pedicab drivers, scavengers, parking attendants, day laborers, and other informal workers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation between mid-2025 and the end of 2025 and analyzed using Moustakas’ phenomenological procedures. Findings show that Dakwah on the Street functions not merely as a religious activity but as a transformative educational process fostering spiritual awareness, social solidarity, and personal empowerment. The phenomenological synthesis identifies five essential characteristics: social empathy as the basis of trust-building, dialogical spirituality through reflective learning, public space pedagogy that turns streets into educational domains, transformative consciousness that strengthens religious identity and agency, and practical resilience that sustains learning despite structural limitations. These findings indicate a shift from institution-centered dakwah toward a more humanistic, participatory, and emancipatory model of Islamic education. The study proposes a framework of Street-Based Transformative Islamic Pedagogy and offers practical insights for strengthening community-based dakwah among marginalized populations.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of nusyuz in Q.S. al-Nisa’ [4]:34 and 128 through the lens of Qira’ah Mubadalah and explores its relevance to cases of domestic violence in Jepara Regency, Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach combining library research with empirical field data obtained through in-depth interviews with five survivors of domestic violence in Jepara. The findings reveal four forms of domestic violence experienced by the participants: physical, psychological, sexual, and economic violence, including neglect of household responsibilities. The study further indicates that domestic violence is associated with misinterpretations of religious texts, gender stereotypes, the assumption that nusyuz applies exclusively to wives, and patterns of manipulation within marital relationships. To critically reassess the concept of nusyuz, this study applies the three analytical principles of Qira’ah Mubadalah to the interpretation of Q.S. al-Nisa’ [4]:34 and 128. The analysis demonstrates a significant shift from conventional interpretations that predominantly construe nusyuz as a wife’s disobedience toward her husband. Through the Mubadalah perspective, nusyuz is understood more reciprocally as any behavior by either spouse that undermines the integrity, harmony, and sustainability of the marital relationship. This reinterpretation emphasizes reciprocity, equality, and mutual responsibility between husbands and wives. The study argues that a gender-sensitive understanding of nusyuz can contribute to preventing the legitimization of domestic violence and provide a more equitable framework for interpreting Qur’anic teachings on marital relations.

Abstract

This study examines theological egoism in the hadith of Dzul Khuwaishirah and its development in the takfiri doctrine of the Khawarij through the ethical perspective of Emmanuel Levinas. This study aims to analyze this form of theological egoism and formulate its implications for religious moderation. This study employs a literature review (library research) method with a philosophical and ethical interpretive approach based on the thought of Emmanuel Levinas as its analytical framework. Primary data include the hadith of Dzul Khuwaishirah in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, as well as Emmanuel Levinas’s works, Totality and Infinity: An Essay on Exteriority and Otherwise than Being or Beyond Essence. The hadith corpus is analyzed through historical contextualization and the identification of the theme of theological egoism. At the same time, Levinas’s texts are used to examine the concepts of totalization, alterity, and asymmetrical responsibility as a framework for a critical reading of the hadith. The results of the study indicate that Dzul Khuwaishirah’s stance can be understood as a form of egology that absolutizes subjective judgment and disregards alterity. This pattern has developed within the Khawarij’s takfiri doctrine. This study demonstrates that religious moderation can be strengthened through an ethical orientation that places responsibility toward the other as the foundation for respect for human dignity.
