Abstract

In this study, a low-cost water level measurement device based on an ultrasonic sensor was developed. The ultrasonic sensor used is Maxsonar MB7389, and the data acquisition system uses the ATMega328P Microcontroller. Meanwhile, water level measurement data is displayed in real-time on a computer and also stored in a microSD card where data can be retrieved at any time for analysis. The choice of the Maxsonar MB7389 sensor for sensing water levels is based on its superiority in water resistance so that it can be applied in the field, and the measurement resolution is up to millimeters. Meanwhile, the ATMega328P microcontroller contained in the Arduino Uno board has advantages in terms of its relatively low-cost price, ease to program using the open-source Arduino IDE software, supported by many libraries, and modules. Based on the results of laboratory-scale testing, the measurement device developed can measure the water level quite accurately. That can be seen from the average water level measurement error for sensors without a casing of 0.31 cm and sensors with a PVC pipe sheath of 0.25 cm. Then, the value of the Pearson correlation coefficient (R2) is 0.99 for sensors without pipe casings, and 1 for sensors with PVC pipe casings. Then, based on the ripple comparison of the results of the water level measurement, it can be suggested for the measurement of the highly fluctuating water level (such as sea and river) should use a pipe casing. Meanwhile, for measuring the water level in the tank that is not too volatile, you can use a sensor without a pipe casing.

Abstract

Penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi keberadaan zona akuifer di Kota Manokwari Provinsi Papua telah dilakukan menggunakan metode Tahanan Jenis (resistivity) konfigurasi dipole-dipole. Lokasi penelitian berada pada satuan fisiografi Terumbu Koral Terangkat. Akuisisi data dilakukan pada 15 lintasan. Panjang masing-masing lintasan survei bervariasi dari 80 m sampai dengan 200 m, dengan spasi elektroda antara 10 sampai dengan 25 m. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa nilai tahanan jenis yang bervariasi, mulai dari yang terendah yakni 9 Ωm sampai yang tertinggi 11.954 Ωm. Variasi tahanan jenis tersebut dipengaruhi oleh kondisi geologi, khususnya kondisi fisiografi Kota Manokwari yang berupa Terumbu Koral Terangkat. Akibat fisiografi tersebut, keberadaan akuifer tersebar tidak merata. Di beberapa lokasi penelitian, zona akuifer dapat dijumpai pada kedalaman 2 meter sampai 60an meter, namun demikian, keberadaan zona akuifer tidak terdeteksi di semua lokasi penelitian.

Abstract

The Arboretum City Forest is located in Cibubur, East Jakarta, in this area there is biodiversity, one of which is butterflies. Butterflies act as an indicator of environmental change, in a habitat. There are two types of habitats in this urban forest, open and closed habitats, which greatly affect the diversity of butterflies. This study aims to determine the diversity of butterflies in the two habitats. The research was conducted in May 2021. The method used was a quantitative descriptive method, and the plot was carried out by purposive sampling. The study was carried out 4 times in each habitat (3 plots), with an interval of 1 week of observation. The research was conducted from 08:30 to 12:30, using insect nets and digital cameras. The number of butterflies found in open habitats was more (39 species, 177 individuals) than in closed habitats (25 species. 94 individuals). Based on, and the diversity of butterflies found shows a significant correlation with habitat conditions. In open forest habitats it is more suitable for butterflies. This difference is strongly influenced by the environmental conditions of the habitat, especially light, and plant diversity.

Abstract

An analysis of the quality of rainwater has been carried out in rainwater storage tanks in Sirongo Village, North Tidore District, Tidore Islands City. The purpose of this study was to identify the quality of rainwater storage (PAH) based on the drinking water quality requirements according to the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010 and knowing the quantity of water in meeting the drinking water needs of the local community. The results showed that based on the quality standards in the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 492/ Menkes/ Per/ IV/ 2010 concerning requirements for drinking water quality, rainwater quality in Sirongo Village is viewed from the physical parameters (Odor, Taste, Color, Temperature, and turbidity), chemical parameters (Flourida) and biological parameters (total coliform), meet the quality standards, while the chemical parameters (Iron and pH) do not meet the quality standards. Rainwater storage (PAH) in Sirongo village cannot meet the community's water needs because it is influenced by the amount of water used by each family member and the size of the PAH.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk membuat alat ukur pH digital berbasis Arduino Leonardo yang terintegrasi dengan pengendali mikrokontroler Atmega32u4 dan menggunakan pH meter v1.1 sebagai sensor pH serta LCD jenis 16 x 2 untuk menampilkan nilai pH larutan, dimana hasil pengukuran pH yang diperoleh mempunyai ketelitian yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan alat ukur pH analog. Dalam proses pengujian alat dilakukan perbandingan antara alat ukur pH digital yang telah dibuat, dengan alat ukur pH standar. Dalam perancangan sketch, digunakan metode regresi polynomial. Dengan menggunakan metode regresi polynomial orde 2, perbandingan antara alat ukur pH berbasis Arduino dan alat ukur pH standar mempunyai selisih nilai pH antara 0.563 hingga 0.991. Perbandingan nilai pengukuran alat ukur pH berbasis Arduino dan alat ukur pH standar pada larutan buffer, secara berurutan diperoleh selisih antara 0.21 hingga 0.78 dan 0.51 hingga 0.88.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the type and status of plant conservation in the cross-regional route in Teluk Wondama Regency. The method used in this research is the transect method at 2 locations, namely Simpanggoro and Yamor. The results of this study found 193 plant species. When viewed from the benefits and stature, they were grouped into 5 groups, namely 119 tree species (45 families), 9 species of Palm (1 family), 22 species of shrubs and herbs (12 families), 10 species of lianas (6 families) and 19 types of agricultural and plantation crops (16 families). There are 4 types of Papuan plants, 2 endangered species and 2 protected plant species Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, No.106 of 2018.

Abstract

This research focuses on adsorption technology from natural sources (biosorbents), esspecially optimizing the potential of composites chitosan as biosorbents for heavy metal waste . The target to be achieved from this research is to obtain the technology of synthesis carbon-chitosan composites for adsorption Cu(II) metal. The study of the characteristics of the chitosan composite with FT-IR, while the adsorption capacity was determined by AAS. The research stages include the isolation of chitin from shrimp shells, deasetilation of chitin into chitosan, the synthesis of charcoal from palm shell, the synthesis of the carbon–chitosan composite (KCK), and the characterization and study adsorption of the chitosan composite on Cu(II) metal. The results of the analysis of the adsorption capacity of chitosan composites showed that formulation of Carbon-Chitosan (KCK) which gave the greatest adsorption toward Cu(II) metal was at a ratio of 1:10 (w/v), which was 2.3037 x 10-4 mol/ g.

Abstract

After a certain period of time, the reservoir's pressure will drop to the point where petroleum can no longer flow naturally. Because of the decrease in oil production, a well will no longer have economic value. Artificial lifts or specific methods are used in wells to help oil flow to the surface in order to maintain or increase petroleum recovery. Water injection is a method of increasing oil recovery by injecting water into the well. Water injected into this well will increase pressure to the oil in the reservoir, causing it to be pushed and flow to the surface. Water treatment is typically performed at a Water Treatment Injection Plant (WTIP). WTIP performance is an activity that is used to keep reservoir pressure constant. The separation of the water that is lifted with the oil is the first step in the WTIP process. The Jatibarang Field fluid is collected at the SPU (Main Collector Station). Water from various wells will be collected at the SPU A, SPU B, SPU-Cemara, and Balongan terminals. At WTIP SPU B, the injection pump flow rate and injection pressure have a linear or directly proportional relationship. This is because as the injection pump flow rate increases, the amount of water injected increases, causing the pressure to increase. The flow rate is influenced by the amount of water received at SPU B, the condition of the pump, and the line connecting the SPU and WTIP.

Abstract

In this study, microencapsulation of β-carotene was carried out in a mixed matrix of starch and chitosan with the addition of tripolyphosphate ions as a crosslinker (denoted as starch-chitosan/TPP). Two types of starch were used here, namely native and hydrolyzed starch. Hydrolyzed starch was prepared by acid hydrolysis using 2 M HCl. Microcapsules were synthesized by adding dropwise dispersion of β-carotene in ethanol to the aqueous mixture of starch-chitosan/TPP matrix accompanied by magnetic stirring and heating at 90ºC. The synthesized microcapsules were then tested for solubility and swelling power in aqueous media. The results showed that the solubility and swelling behavior of microcapsules were influenced by the characteristics of the constituent starch. The solubility of hydrolyzed starch-chitosan/TPP was greater than that of the native starch-chitosan/TPP. The native starch-chitosan/TPP microcapsules had a higher swelling power value than the hydrolyzed starch-chitosan/TPP.

Abstract

The Arfak Mountains are a group of mountains located in the Bird's Head, Papua Island (New Guinea), which can reach a height of 2,950 m above sea level. Based on the information found several cultivars of bananas and wild bananas. However, information about the number of variations and distribution of bananas in the Arfak Mountains has not been widely studied. This study aims to determine the variation and distribution of bananas in the Arfak Mountains. The study was conducted on August 29, 2021 – October 23, 2021 in Anggigida District, Warmare District, Minyambouw District, and Anggi District. Data collection used a survey method. The results of the study concluded that there were 14 cultivars and 4 types of wild bananas. In addition, there were variations of domesticated banana plants on the Ransiki-Anggi route and the Warmare-Anggi route. 3 species of wild bananas were only found on the Warmare-Anggi route. Especially the wild banana Musa ingens which was found growing on the left and right of the road along Ransiki to Anggi had a male flower/melanset heart (Lanceolate) while on the left-right side of the road along Warmare to Anggi it had the shape of the male flower / heart is rounded (Rounded).
