Abstract

Foreign direct investment (FDI) serves as a crucial engine for the economic growth of emerging nations such as Nigeria. Despite its recognized importance, the extent of FDI’s contribution to Nigeria’s economic performance remains uncertain due to macroeconomic instability and structural weaknesses. The objective of this study is to examine the effect of FDI on Nigeria’s economic growth between 2001 and 2023, while considering the influence of exchange rate, inflation rate, and interest rate as key explanatory variables. The study employed an ex-post facto research design using annual secondary data sourced from the Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin. Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis was adopted to estimate the relationships among variables. The results revealed that FDI exerts a positive but statistically insignificant impact on real gross domestic product (RGDP), while interest rate shows a significant positive influence on economic growth. Exchange rate and inflation rate exhibit weak and insignificant effects. The findings conclude that monetary policy remains an essential driver of economic growth in Nigeria, whereas FDI alone contributes minimally without complementary reforms. It is recommended that policymakers create stable macroeconomic environments, enhance investment infrastructure, and ensure consistent policy frameworks to attract sustainable foreign investments. Future studies should explore sector-specific FDI dynamics and their differential impacts on economic performance. The research provides managerial implications for investors and policy implications for economic planners seeking long-term growth through effective FDI utilization.

Abstract

Sustainable branding has become a critical approach to rural markets, whose consumer behavior is defined by the peculiar socio-economic situation, the traditions of a culture, and environmental issues. Although the subject is receiving increased interest, little research exists that has established the correlation between bibliometric trends and empirical research on the reactions of rural consumers to sustainability efforts. Conceptual models or isolated case studies have been investigated in most studies; little has been done in establishing the relationship between thematic research clusters and actual rural market practices. The gap present in this study is that many studies have been conducted to determine the impact of information and knowledge systems on organizational performance and management in the past seven years (2015-2025), yet these studies were not anchored on a systematic literature review (SLR). To meet this gap, the current article merges both bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review (SLR) of 182 publications conducted in the last seven years (2015-2025) and uses R-Biblioshiny and VOSviewer to detect thematic clusters, patterns, and research Results indicate that the average annual publication increase is 6.39 percent, with China, India, and Indonesia as the leading nations and indicate 5 key themes, namely: green marketing adoption, sustainable branding in developing regions, corporate sustainability and trust, consumer behavior, and CSR in regional contexts. Empirical data have shown that rural consumers focus more on affordability, quality of products, health and safety, environmental commitments related to culture, but have difficulty accessing them, lack sustainability literacy, and do not trust brand claims. The theoretical contribution of the study is that it correlates bibliometric clusters with consumer behavior in rural areas and provides practical advice on how to create transparent, inclusive, and culturally responsive sustainability strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of ethical leadership ideals and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) implementation on sustainability performance in family companies. Ethical leadership fosters a culture of honesty, fairness, transparency, and accountability, while CSR reflects a company’s commitment to balancing economic, social, and environmental goals. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through structured questionnaires from 185 family business executives in Indonesia selected via purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using SPSS 25 with multiple linear regression analysis. The findings reveal that ethical leadership has a positive and significant effect on sustainability performance. Likewise, CSR implementation also positively and significantly affects sustainability performance. Strategically implemented CSR strengthens the three pillars of sustainability: economic (through efficiency and innovation), social (through harmonious relationships with employees and communities), and environmental (through eco-friendly and sustainable practices). These findings support the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Stakeholder Theory, which state that ethical leadership and CSR are intangible assets that create a sustained competitive advantage and enhance social legitimacy. The study emphasizes the importance of synergy between ethical leadership and CSR in building a sustainable corporate culture that upholds reputation, fosters stakeholder trust, and ensures the continuity of family businesses across generations

Abstract

Price and promotion are important factors that determine purchase intention, but their relationship with perceived risk has not been widely explored, especially in the context of the construction industry. This study aims to find the impact of price and promotion on the purchase intention in construction services, with the perceived financial risk as the mediation variable. A quantitative approach was used in this study, where the data were collected through a constructed questionnaire. The questionnaire was designed to simultaneously filter respondents, leaving only 144 responses selected for further analysis, namely from those who were planning to renovate their homes, were interested in using construction services, and lived in the Magelang area and its surroundings. The analysis utilized SmartPLS4 for Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The analysis showed that the price and promotion influence the purchase intention, as well as the promotion affecting the perceived financial risk. The mediation results show that perceived financial risk does not have a significant influence on purchase intention as a mediating variable between price and purchase intention, as well as between promotion and purchase intention. These findings provide insight into how price and promotions shape purchase intentions without considering potential financial losses. This research contributes to construction businesses' efforts to improve purchase intentions, which can aid in new project acquisitions.

Abstract

As augmented reality (AR) technology becomes increasingly integrated into e-commerce, virtual makeup try-on applications offer users a more personalized and immersive shopping experience. This study examines the influence of fit confidence and perceived augmentation on continuance usage intention among Generation Z users in Indonesia, grounded in the Stimulus–Organism–Response (SOR) framework. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected through structured online questionnaires targeting users who have interacted with AR-based virtual makeup try-on features from beauty brands and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 3.0 using 124 samples. The results show that fit confidence significantly enhances both utilitarian and hedonic value, while perceived augmentation only increases utilitarian value and directly influences continuance usage intention. Furthermore, hedonic value but not utilitarian value significantly drives continuance usage intention, and perceived ease of use strengthens the effects of fit confidence on both utilitarian and hedonic value. Theoretically, the findings extend the SOR framework by demonstrating that fit confidence plays a more dominant role than perceived augmentation in shaping both utilitarian and hedonic value within AR-based beauty applications. Practically, beauty brands and e-commerce platforms should focus on enhancing the accuracy and realism of AR try-on features, as well as designing more enjoyable and engaging user experiences. Improving perceived ease of use is also essential, as it intensifies the positive impacts of fit confidence on user value perceptions, ultimately encouraging sustained engagement with virtual makeup try-on technologies.

Abstract

This study presents the results of an analysis of scientific trends and developments related to resilience and employee well-being during the period 2020–2025, encompassing 225 articles, 214 keywords, and 622 authors, with particular attention to issues concerning social dynamics and political demonstrations. This research aims to (1) map the development of publications and citation trends related to resilience and employee well-being; (2) identify the most influential authors, countries, and research collaborations; (3) evaluate the main themes and shifts in research focus throughout the study period; and (4) assess the extent to which resilience and employee well-being are linked to the context of political demonstrations in the global literature. This study employs a bibliometric approach, reviewing publication counts, citation trends, geographical distribution of research, and dominant themes. The results indicate an increase in the number of publications from 25 articles in 2020 to 48 articles in 2024, followed by a slight decrease in 2025 (45 articles). Citation trends declined from an average of 33.6 in 2020 to 1.36 in 2025, reflecting a time lag in the accumulation of scientific impact. The most prominent topics include employee well-being and well-being, followed by burnout, job satisfaction, and employee engagement. These findings illustrate that employee resilience and well-being have become a matter of international concern and that research specifically examining the relationship between the two and political demonstrations remains limited. In practical terms, this study recommends the need for organizational strategies and public policies that improve mental health support, work flexibility, and employee well-being holistically.

Abstract

Operational delays in cargo handling activities represent a critical challenge for dry bulk port terminals, directly impacting vessel turnaround efficiency and port competitiveness. This research addresses the need for systematic risk identification and structured prioritization of mitigation strategies within dry bulk terminal operations. The study employed a mixed-method approach integrating Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) with Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) at a major dry bulk terminal facility in Gresik, Indonesia. Primary data were collected through semi-structured expert interviews and structured questionnaires administered to five operational supervisors with minimum five-year tenure. Secondary data comprised operational records documenting 76 delay incidents across 2024. FMEA implementation identified eighteen discrete operational risk factors categorized into four domains: internal operational risks, human resource risks, system-based risks, and external environmental risks. Risk Priority Number (RPN) calculations established a hierarchical risk ranking, with four substantially elevated priority risks identified: poor truck circulation (RPN=216.75), grab equipment malfunction (RPN=194.88), weather impact (RPN=181.44), and fleet availability insufficiency (RPN=157.76). Subsequent Analytical Hierarchy Process assessment determined optimal mitigation strategy sequences for prioritized risks, emphasizing periodic organizational coordination mechanisms, preventive maintenance scheduling, capacity expansion, and adaptive operational procedures. Consistency Ratio validation confirmed expert judgment coherence (CR=0.02). Findings demonstrate that integrated FMEA-AHP frameworks provide actionable intelligence for resource allocation in port risk management.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a canned crab processing company that continues to experience significant operational performance gaps despite implementing the Balanced Scorecard (BSC). Several key performance indicators, such as production time, defect rate, and product innovation, consistently fall short of their targets, indicating that the current BSC functions only as a monitoring tool and does not provide a quantitative foundation for selecting the most impactful improvement strategy. This research integrates the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) with the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to prioritize five alternative strategies. The SAW analysis shows that Revitalization of the Human Resource Management System emerges as the highest-priority strategy, followed by Innovation Capability Development and Human Resource Capacity Building. These top three strategies demonstrate the strongest overall impact on improving operational performance, reinforcing the central role of human resources in driving sustainable efficiency improvements. The results also reveal that human-centered strategies generate a broader cascading effect across all KPIs compared to technology-focused alternatives. This pattern highlights that improvements in employee satisfaction and training hours act as leverage points that accelerate gains in production time, defect reduction, and innovation output. Overall, the findings confirm that strengthening HR systems creates long-term operational advantages that are more consistent and scalable for PT XYZ.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the suitability of the Pelawan Forest Conservation Park as a Forest Healing Site based on biophysical parameters established in SNI 9006:2021. The urgency of this study arises from the global rise of wellness-based tourism and the growing scientific evidence that forest therapy improves both physiological and psychological health. Although Forest Healing has been widely implemented in Japan, South Korea, and Europe, research in humid tropical ecosystems, particularly in Indonesia, remains limited, creating a significant knowledge gap regarding the applicability of standardized forest therapy criteria in these environments. Field observations and spatial analyses were conducted across three zones within the Pelawan Forest to measure vegetation density, temperature, humidity, slope, and noise. The results indicate that the forest meets several key SNI parameters: vegetation density is categorized as dense (80–93%), humidity remains within the ideal range, slope conditions are classified as sloping (8–15%), and noise levels are low (35.37 dB). However, the average temperature (27.33°C) slightly exceeds comfort standards. Overall, the Pelawan Forest demonstrates strong potential as a Forest Healing site, though further seasonal and microclimate assessments are recommended to enhance accuracy and support sustainable forest-therapy development.
