Abstract

Background: Population growth, economy, and technology supported by a high level of productivity, more and more waste is produced every day, both solid, liquid, gas and B3 waste, the best way to overcome environmental damage due to waste is by managing waste before being released or discharged into the environment. Waste management is adjusted to environmental quality standards that have been regulated in applicable laws so as not to cause environmental damage, waste treatment is carried out at PT. Indonesia Power Grati POMU with a generation unit in the form of PLTGU (Gas and Steam Power Plant), one of which is the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) method. Objectives: determine the process of wastewater treatment using the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) method carried out by PT. Indonesia Power Gratai POMU. Methods: This research was a descriptive study where describes the main process wastewater treatment with the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) method at PT. Indonesia Power Grati Power Generation and Operation and Maintenance Service Unit (POMU), the study was conducted a direct observation approach at place of WWTP and literacy related to applicable laws and regulations Results: The wastewater treatment process at PT. Indonesia Power Grati POMU has 10 stages, starting from the storage pond to being discharged into the sea. Conclusions: PT. Indonesia Power Grati POMU uses the wastewater treatment method plant (WWTP) for main process wastewater treatment There are 10 stages in the WWTP treatment process, wastewater treatment using this process has been well marked by the results of WWTP processing in 2021-January 2022 with results below quality standards so that they are suitable for disposal into the sea.

Abstract

Background: Dengue virus from DHF mosquitoes, until now there is no very good drug or vaccine to prevent and treat DHF, the activities that have been carried out so far have been to improve programs to prevent increase in mortality and vector control. Indonesia generally conducts eradication of mosquito nests which is main activity of preventing dengue cases. This activity requires community intervention. 3M Plus is an effective activity which is carried out by the community by controlling environment, biologically and chemically. Objective: To apply a meta-analysis method for several journals regarding behavioral factors of 3M plus on incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever in Indonesia and compare the results of the summary effect using Maximum Likelihood and DerSimonian-Laird methods. Methods: Using unobtrusive research with a meta-analysis method to find the difference in estimated maximum likelihood and dersimonian-laird values "‹"‹on 3M Plus behavioral factors on incidence of dengue hemorrhagic fever in Indonesia with a case control study design. Research from March to May 2021 conducted a search for primary research sites providing journals or articles that have been published in Indonesia in last 10 years and include results of odds ratio value and compare results between two methods. Results: resulted in a heterogeneous study p value < 0.001; I² = 98.525% > 50%, CI 95, there are variations between studies regarding 3M Plus behavioral factors on incidence of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, right model is random effect, resulting p-values "‹"‹are both <0.05. There is a relationship between the behavioral factors of 3M Plus on the incidence of DHF in Indonesia. Conclusion: The results the meta-analysis showed a significant relationship with the summary effect of 5,84 (95% CI). The difference in parameter estimation between the Maximum likelihood and DerSimonian-Laird methods shows the same results.

Abstract

Background: In the span of 2019-2021, the source of waste is always dominated by household waste, from the total composition of waste based on its source. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has  caused an increase in medical waste sourced from household waste. This increase is at risk of transmitting COVID-19 to many people if it is not managed properly. Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and waste management actions by reducing, reusing, recycling, segregating waste by its types, and segregating medical and non-medical waste at household scale during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Special Capital Region of Indonesia. DKI Jakarta. Methods: This research method used inferential analysis and a cross-sectional design study. The respondents of this study were 226 people who live in DKI Jakarta with an age range of 18-60 years. The independent variable of this study was the knowledge of the people of DKI Jakarta regarding waste. Dependent variables include the application of reducing, reusing, recycling, segregating waste by its types, and segregating medical and non-medical waste. Results: The results showed a significant value between the independent and dependent variables. The significance value was between knowledge and the application of 3R (p=0.395), between knowledge and segregating waste by its types (p=0.167), and between knowledge and segregating medical and non-medical waste (p=0.031). Conclusions: There was no significant relationship between the knowledge variable and the application of 3R because the significance value is p>0.05. Likewise, the knowledge variable and the sorting of organic and non-organic waste. However, there is a relationship between knowledge and sorting medical and non-medical waste with a p-value of 0.031 (p<0.05).

Abstract

Background: Garbage can harm health if it is not managed properly. One of the health problems that can arise is skin disorders that often occur in workers in landfills due to a work environment that is not conducive and dirty. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristic risk factors, personal hygiene, and use of personal protective equipment with the incidence of skin disorders in waste officers in Indonesia. Methods: This study used a meta-analysis method with a cross-sectional research design. The sample used was 24 research articles and data processing using JASP version 0.14.1 and then data analysis was carried out. Discussions: The results showed that the characteristics of the waste officer in the older age group variable had a risk of 1,116 times greater, the variable for the longer working hours group had a greater risk of 1,197, and the variable with a longer working year had a risk of 1,138 times greater to experience skin disorders. The personal hygiene behavior factor of the waste officer who is not good has a 1,648 times greater risk of experiencing skin disorders. The factor of using PPE for waste officers who are not good has a risk of 1,433 times greater for experiencing skin disorders. Conclusions: The highest risk factor in this study is the personal hygiene variable and the use of PPE to prevent and minimize the occurrence of skin disorders in waste officers, efforts can be increased in realizing good personal hygiene behavior and also wearing complete PPE.

Abstract

Background: DF patients require special nutritional care to accelerate recovery and provide adequate nutritional intake. DF is an infectious condition due to dengue virus accompanied by prodromal symptoms of headache, pain in various parts of the body, anorexia, chills and malaise. Standardized nutritional care is carried out by providing a high-calorie and high-protein diet to meet the nutritional needs of patients, prevent damage to body tissues, normalize white blood cell levels due to infection and control body weight. Objectives: Knowing the implementation of standardized nutritional care processes and the provision of high-calorie, high-protein diets in DF patients. Methods: The case study was conducted in November 2021 on inpatients at RS X in Sidoarjo. Sampling of the study was carried out by selecting patients according to the criteria for large cases that had been previously determined by hospital nutritionists and internship supervisors. The research sample was taken by looking at the patient's medical record with the approval of the nurse on duty and accompanied by a hospital nutritionist. The method used was observation for 3 days on the aspect of intake seen from 8 meals of food recall 24H and visual comstock, physical aspects with interviews, and biochemical aspects seen from the patient's medical record. Researchers also conducted a literature study to complete the required data. Results: After nutritional intervention, the patient's physical condition began to improve, indicated by the appetite that had started to normal and complaints of nausea and vomiting that were no longer there. The patient's food intake which has started to improve from day to day is indicated by having reached the target (>70%). However, on the last day of the intervention the intake did not reach the target (<70%) because the patient had been allowed to go home by the doctor in charge. Conclusion: In this case, the recovery of the patient's condition was quite fast. The patient's digestive system began to improve marked by the disappearance of complaints of nausea and vomiting so that the patient's intake also improved.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a condition where under five children' height not in accordance with standard according to age. This condition is caused by inadequate nutritional intake during the First 1000 Days of Life. Stunting in long term period can cause a decrease in productivity due to cognitive decline and brain development. One of the important nutritional intake to prevent stunting is zinc. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of zinc on the incidence of stunting in Indonesia. Methods: The research method in this article is a literature review on Google Scholar database with the keywords "The Relationship between Zinc and Stunting in Indonesia" in the last 10 years. Discussion: The results of review of 10 journals showed that there was an effect of zinc consumption on the incidence of stunting. This is due to the various functions of zinc in the body that are important for growth, including a role in the synthesis of growth hormone, helping bone lengthening, increasing the immune system, and increasing the sensitivity of the sense of taste, which increases appetite. Conclusions: Zinc is very important to prevent stunting, so consuming zinc in sufficient quantities in toddlers is highly recommended.

Abstract

Background: Premenstrual Syndrome is a sequence of menstrual symptoms which occur before and during menstruation period. Factors that can influence the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome are nutritional consumption and psychological stress level. The variation in nutritional consumption and psychological stress level of heterogeneous co-ed caused differences in symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the correlation between nutritional consumption and psychological stress level with premenstrual syndrome to boarding house students in the Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga. Methods: This study was an observational analitic study with a case-control design. The sample consisted of 28 co-ed with premenstrual syndrome and the other 28 co-ed who did not have premenstrual syndrome. The independent variable consists of the nutritional consumption and psychological stress level. The dependent variable is Premenstrual Syndrome. Data analysis used includes the Chi-Square test, Fisher Exact test, and Logistic Regression. Results: Results showed a significant correlation between energy consumption (p=0,027; OR=3,111), fat (p=0,026; OR=0,175), pyridoxine (p=0,035; OR=6,668), calcium (p=0,029; OR=0,134), magnesium (p=0,048; OR=9,155), and psychological stress levels (p=0,000; OR=0,041) with the incidence of premenstrual syndrome. In contrast, there was no correlation between the level of protein (p=0,589; OR=0,249) and carbohydrate consumption (p=0,252; OR=0,938) with the incidence of premenstrual syndrome. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is the level of energy consumption, fat, vitamin B6, calcium, magnesium, and psychological stress levels can affect the symptoms caused by PMS. The advice for college students is that they should regulate their consumption by balanced nutrition guidelines.

Abstract

Background: Anemia is a global health problem and has a high prevalence in various countries. Based on the results of Riskesdas 2018, it's known that there was an increase in anemia in Indonesia which was 48,9%. Adolescent girls have a higher risk of anemia than adolescent boys because adolescent girls have menstrual cycles every month. In addition, adolescent girls also have unhealthy eating patterns, such as extreme diets, with the aim of achieving the ideal figure. Based on several studies, intake of protein, vitamin C and iron has a correlation with anemia among adolescent girls.   Objectives: The aim of this literature review is to determine the correlation between intake of protein, vitamin C and iron with anemia among adolescent girls Methods: The research method used is literature review method by choosing a cross sectional design. Discussion: The results of a review of twelve articles showed that 8 of 12 literature reviews showed a correlation between intake of protein with anemia among adolescent girls, 8 of 12 literature reviews showed no correlation between intake of vitamin C with anemia among adolescent girls and 6 of 12 literature reviews showed a correlation between intake of iron with anemia among adolescent girls. Conclusions: Intake of nutrients such as protein, vitamin C and iron will affect the incidence of anemia among adolescent girls.

Abstract

Background: Work accidents are generally caused by unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. The STOP observation program (Safety Training Observation Program) is a form of Behavior Based Safety (BBS) with the focus being observed on human factor. In practice, what is done is to analyze the reasons workers do, and apply it with the aim to improve their behavior towards safe actions.   Objectives: This study aims to study the implementation of the STOP observation program and the causes of unsafe acts and unsafe conditions at a Steam Power Plant Companies (PLTU) in East Java. Methods: This research was a descriptive observational study, with a cross sectional approach. The data used in this study were sourced from observations of the work environment, interviews with resource persons and company secondary data. The data analysis used in this research is qualitative. Results: The STOP observation program was carried out by all workers with two-way communication. In 2020 there were 639 observers, while in 2021 there are 2,321 observers. In 2020 there were 4,212 unsafe acts (1.51%) and in 2021 there were 8,226 unsafe acts (1.65%). Meanwhile, there were 1,878 (2.56%) for unsafe conditions in 2020 and 2,512 (1.71%) in 2021. Conclusions: The implementation of STOP observations had been going quite well, there is an increase in observations, but unsafe actions and conditions are still found in the work process.

Abstract

Background: The increase in the number of motorized vehicles causes high number of traffic accidents in Indonesia. East java has a very high number of road accidents. This is become a concern for the government of the Republic of Indonesia. Surabaya become city with the highest accident rate. Objectives: The purpose of this research is the author wants to analyze the correlation between riding license (SIM C) ownership with the incidence of motorbike traffic accidents in high school students in Wonokromo Sub-district Surabaya. Methods: This study was an observational study that examines variables at a certain point in time so that a cross sectional study design was used in this research. The number of students who became respondents in this research were 114 students who were drawn from the population using a two-stage random sampling method. Chi-square was used to researching the correlation between two variables which are driving license ownership and the incidence of traffic accident Results: The result in that analysis showed that p=0,022 and RR=2,245, which means there was a relationship between those two variables. Conclusions: Riders are encouraged to ride their motorbike after having riding license (SIM C), because having a riding license is the parameter of a person having competence in riding both in theory and practice.
