Abstract

Background: Preschool age is a child aged 3-6 years. At this age, children have a higher ability to grow and develop. Providing stimulation and a good diet for children will be beneficial for the child's growth and development process. Preschool-age children are very large in Indonesia, namely 20% of the total population, in the age range of 36 months to 5 years. Objectives: This study aims to determine the relationship between social media use by parents and children's eating patterns at TK Al Ikhlas, Arjasa Kangean District. Methods: This study used quantitative observational research. This research was conducted using a cross-sectional study design. Samples were taken using a proportional random sampling technique from 83 mothers of kindergarten children. Results: There is no relationship between the frequency of social media use and children's eating patterns (pv=0.218), and there is no relationship between the frequency of social media use and parenting styles of children (pv=0.121). Conclusions: There is a relationship between the use of social media by parents and the eating patterns of children in TK Al Ikhlas, Arjasa Kangean District. This happens because parents' use of social media is relatively short, so parents can still give their full attention to their children.

Abstract

Background: Stunting, often known as short children, is a condition in which a child's length or height is significantly below average for his or her age. Meeting children's basic needs throughout their formative years is an effective way to stop them from being stunted. Parents, and especially mothers, are responsible for seeing to their children's basic requirements. Developmental outcomes for toddlers are influenced by maternal involvement in caregiving. These fundamental requirements take the form of kindness, concern, and attention. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the pattern of nurturing, caring and caring provided by mothers and caregivers with the incidence of stunting in the working area of the Lontar Health Center in Surabaya. Methods: This study used a case-control design, making it an analytical observational study. A total of 52 children took part in the study, and they were split evenly between two groups (the "case" group included 26 kids, while the "control" group had 26 kids) (not stunted). Purposive sampling was utilized to gather these samples. The acquired data was put through a battery of statistical tests, and the findings were analyzed using the Chi-square technique. Results: The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between mother's knowledge (p=0.041) and patterns of breastfeeding related to the implementation of IMD (p=0,048) and the incidence of stunting. Conclusions: The conclusion obtained from this study is that mother's knowledge and implementation of IMD are related to the incidence of stunting.

Abstract

Background: The nutrition problem in school-age children is still a major concern in almost all the world. Epidemiological studies show that the availability of high-energy snack foods, high levels of fat, sugar and sodium are closely related to the increased risk of the occurrence of nutrition problems, especially over nutrition. Objectives: The purpose of this review literature is to describe the relationship between the availability and consumption behavior of snack foods and how they contribute to nutritional status. Methods: The method uses in writing this literature review is to review international journal articles taken from various sorces such as Medline NCBI, Embase, Google Scholar with a critical appraisal process. Discussion: The result of the average eating behavior for school children depends on the available food availability. Consumption of energy-dense foods such as foods and beverages that are high in calories, high in fat, high in sugar tend to experience an increase in calories and cause overnutrition or obesity. Conclusions: Intervention is needed through nutrition education related to children's eating consumption behavior and monitoring of snack foods available at school.

Abstract

Background: A food product that falls into the healthy category is a product that contains nutrients and substances that also do not contain harmful substances for human organs. Foods that can be included in the category are of good quality, if the food is suitable and safe to eat and consume. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk provides facilities and infrastructure for canteens that already have cooperation with other parties, namely the party who takes care of catering, namely crown catering where the party facilitates the provision of food for employees in developing the performance of these employees. One of the products issued by the party is Manyung Asam. Objectives: This research was aimed to identify the application of HACCP System on Asam-Asam Manyung Product. Method: The method used in the implementation of the research is descriptive qualitative which includes the implementation of observations in the field which are carried out directly and also the implementation of interviews with crown catering employees who work in the canteen of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero), Tbk. Result: The stages in carrying out production begin through the stages of the process of receiving raw materials from manyung acid dishes to end with the presentation of the food. The implementation of the process of making manyung asam found that there are three stages which are crisis points (CCP) that should be watched out for, namely being in the stage of the frozen fish process that begins to be stored, then the liquid process of fish that has been frozen before and ends with the presentation of the food. Procedures for carrying out risk control that can be carried out during the process of storing frozen fish are carried out regular checks in order to find out the temperature used whether it is in accordance with applicable standards. The liquid stages of frozen fish utilize one of the many uses of techniques from the four mandatory thawing techniques to be carried out so as not to become a source of development of various microorganisms and the stages of presentation that are required to pay attention to the status of the food product so that in conditions of being stuck in a fence can carry out prevention of external contamination. Conclusion: The results of this study can be useful as input and improvement of food quality and can be applied to the HACCP system in other food products. So that the food products produced are safe for consumption.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is targeting to reduce stunting by 14% in 2024. Behavior change communication is one of the 5 (five) pillars of national stunting prevention. Previous research explained that the Interpersonal Communication (KAP) approach succeeded in modify behavior changes to reduce the incidence of stunting. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the efficacy of Interpersonal Communication (KAP) training on the knowledge of Puskesmas health workers to change community behavior related to stunting. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with one pre-posttest group. Total samples were purposively selected, 168 nutritionists and midwives at the health center in the work area of the Sidoarjo District Health Office. The effectiveness of KAP training was assessed by the KAP knowledge indicator using 20 multiple choice questions questionnaire. The questionnaire was filled out twice. KAP training is handled by 4 (four) trained health workers from the Ministry of Health for 6 hours/ day for 2 days. Paired t-test statistical test was used to see the significant changes in knowledge. Results: Based on the results of the analysis, there was a significant increase in both the total correct answers and knowledge scores at KAP training (p<0.000). Conclusions: The efficacy of KAP training showed that similar programs can be implemented with broader targets such as cadres, PKK, religion leaders, and society leaders.

Abstract

Background: Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus. Indonesia has been an endemic country for dengue hemorrhagic fever since 1968. There are several factors related to the occurrence of dengue hemorrhagic fever, one of which is the human factor and that is population density. Objective: The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between dengue hemorrhagic fever cases and population density in East Java Province in 2019-2020. Method: This study uses a cross-sectional design. The data used in this study are secondary data collected in 2019-2020from the province of East Java Health Profile. Data analysis used the Shapiro-Wilk test to determine the normality of the data and then the Spearman correlation test to determine the relationship between variables. Result: The result of Spearman correlation test between cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) and the population density showed a correlation with P = 0.033 in 2019 and p = 0.007 in 2020 where p <0.05. The strength of the relationship shows a moderate relationship with a negative relationship direction, the correlation coefficient value = -0.348 in 2019 and the correlation coefficient = -0.429. If the population density increases, the case of dengue hemorrhagic fever will decrease. Conclusion: As a result of the research, there is a relationship between cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever and population density in East Java province in 2019-2020.
