Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efforts of PAI Teachers in improving students' learning discipline by applying rewards and punishments at SMPN 1 Nguntoronadi. Learning discipline is an important factor that affects the quality of education and academic achievement of students. The use of this research method is descriptive qualitative through a qualitative approach. This research is located at SMP N 1 Nguntoronadi. The data collection techniques were observation, interview and documentation. Interviews were conducted with PAI teachers and the subjects were students in grades VII, VIII, and IX. The technique used to analyze data validity is triangulation. Data analysis used in this research is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the research are that PAI teachers at SMPN 1 Nguntoronadi apply various forms of rewards, such as verbal praise, award certificates, and small gifts, to motivate students with disciplined behavior and good learning achievements. Meanwhile, the forms of punishment used include verbal reprimands, additional assignments, and certain sanctions that do not obey the rules or do not show discipline in learning. The application of rewards and punishments has proven effective in optimizing students' learning discipline. They are more motivated to follow the rules and actively participate in the learning process. Teachers also reported an increase in learner engagement and a decrease in the number of discipline violations after the implementation of this measure. However, this study also identified some challenges, such as the need for consistency in the application of rewards and punishments and the importance of a fair and proportional approach. Overall, PAI teachers' efforts through rewards and punishments contributed positively to improving learners' learning discipline at SMPN 1 Nguntoronadi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of mathematical disposition on problem-solving ability through video-assisted learning in seventh-grade mathematics at a junior high school in Gunungsitoli City. The research employed a quasi-experimental design, with class VII-A as the experimental group (n = 32) receiving video-assisted instruction and class VII-B as the control group (n = 32) using conventional methods. Data were collected through problem-solving ability tests and mathematical disposition questionnaires, administered as pre-tests and post-tests. Analysis was conducted using t-tests and linear regression analysis. Results showed a significant improvement in problem-solving ability in the experimental class compared to the control class, with gain scores of 0.50 and 0.25 respectively. For problem-solving ability, the experimental class improved from a pre-test average of 67.34 to a post-test average of 83.78, while the control class improved from a pre-test average of 66.22 to a post-test average of 73.84. The mathematical disposition analysis yielded scores of 79.31 for the experimental class and 72.06 for the control class. Findings indicate that students who participated in video-assisted learning demonstrated significant improvement in problem-solving ability compared to the control group. Furthermore, students' mathematical disposition positively correlated with this improvement. This suggests that the video-assisted learning approach has potential in facilitating the development of mathematical problem-solving skills, while acknowledging the role of mathematical disposition in the learning process.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum implemented by the government since 2022 aims to provide opportunities for schools to carry out learning activities according to their potential and excellence. This research offers a new contribution with a systematic approach in reviewing various studies related to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary schools and allows the identification of best practices and effective strategies, which can be applied in various contexts. This research is a systematic literature review, which aims to comprehensively and critically review existing research related to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary schools in Indonesia. The article used is the latest publication period 2022-2024. General problems that often arise in implementing the Independent Curriculum: (1) Teachers do not fully understand the Independent Curriculum; (2) Lack of teacher competence in teaching, and; (3) Lack of support for facilities and infrastructure for the teacher learning process. The solutions offered can be summarized as follows: (1) Teachers can take part in training or workshops to understand the application of the Independent Curriculum and develop learning methods, models and strategies; (2) Collaboration between teachers, either personally or in Teacher Working Group forums or through professional teacher organizations; (3) Coordination of all stakeholders in socializing the implementation and evaluation of the Independent Curriculum; (4) Involvement of teachers in curriculum development, and; (5) The active role of stakeholders and parents in providing facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

Because educators play a pivotal role in the educational process, they must be resourceful and innovative when developing lesson plans that use various forms of learning material. Because social studies is often considered a lesson with a lot of theory and children often become bored in such classes, engaging and high-quality learning material is essential for social studies instruction in primary schools. Students are more likely to pay attention in class when their teachers use engaging learning media to convey information that pique their interest. The goal of this research is to help students better grasp social studies concepts and to get them involved in class so that they may learn relevant material via the creation of authentic learning media on Google Sites. This research made use of the ADDIE methodology, which includes the following five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. A number of options are available inside Google Sites for online education, including Home, Fundamental Competencies, Attendance, Content, and Games. findings indicated that students' replies about Google Sites learning media were 94.25%, validation findings from media experts were 92% with a "very valid" category, and results from material experts were 83.33% with a "very valid" rating. The evaluation findings show that the Google Sites learning material for fifth grade social studies is effective and simple to use.

Abstract

This development research aims to produce Android-based Virtual Reality learning media for mathematics learning that is valid, practical and effective. The development procedure uses the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. Students at SMP Negeri 4 Tempilang Class VII 1 were the research subjects. The data collection techniques used were unstructured interviews, questionnaires, and student learning outcomes. This research uses descriptive data analysis on one variable, namely the quality of Android-based Virtual Reality learning media. The results of the research and data analysis obtained a questionnaire assessment from the three validators of 91.8% which was included in the very valid criteria, the average percentage of practicality was 90.7% which was included in the very practical criteria, and effectiveness was obtained at 82.6% which was included in the criteria very effective with 19 students who completed and 4 students who did not complete. Therefore, the researchers concluded that Android-based Virtual Reality learning media in junior high school mathematics learning has proven to be valid, practical and effective.

Abstract

This research is action research that applies mind map to improve writing skill in English lesson for 2nd grade of Cita Hati Elementary School Surabaya. The subject of the research are 22 students of 2nd graders. The instruments are mind map worksheets to improve students’ writing skills in English lesson and the writing rubric adopted from Cambridge curriculum. This study is conducted in 2 cycles based on the Kemmis, McTaggart, Nixon’s theory (2014). Each cycle consists of 5 processes (planning, acting, observing, and reflecting, and re-planning). The first data in the pre-test shows that 11 students (50%) out of 22 students achieves the scores below minimum passing grade criteria. The writer continues to the processes of cycle 1 and it shows that 16 students out of 22 students who could achieve the minimum passing grade criteria so that the percentage becomes 73%. The writer does the 2nd cycle and it is found that all grade 2 students could achieve the minimum passing grade criteria and it improves the percentage into 100%. At the end of cycle 2, the writer could achieve the success indicator. Last but not least, this research stated that the use of mind map could improve the writing skill of 2nd grader in English lesson.

Abstract

This research aims to elaborate the harmony between the psychological aspects of teachers' pedagogical competence and the actual findings in the implementation of English language learning process at the Vocational High School level. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection technique used direct observation and the research subject was the English teachet at ATPH Class 3 of SMKN 1 Pacet Cianjur. The data analysis procedures in this research were data analysis, data reduction, final interpretation, and verification. The results of the research showed that: (1) The teacher's pedagogical competence in preparing the learning process carried out by teachers in the ATPH 3 class showed the significance in accordance with the teacher's competence. This can be seen from the overall learning preparation being carried out structurally. Starting from lesson plans, games implementation, student worksheets, students’ attendance sheet and other tools. (2) The teacher's pedagogical competence when learning process took place in the ATPH class 3 showed good significance because the teacher implemented learning apperception. There was a communicative flow that increased student class engagement. However, the relevance of English language learning materials with students' interest in learning was not yet visible. (3) The teacher's pedagogical competence when implementing the reflection was good and the significance of the elements of teacher's pedagogical competence represented in the learning process.

Abstract

The erosion of regional languages is a problem that needs to be addressed by all groups, including families, educational institutions and the government. One of the ways the government has taken to overcome the erosion of the Cilegon Javanese language is by requiring the learning of Nalek (Cilegon Javanese) in elementary schools, but in fact the implementation of learning has not been optimal due to the lack of supporting media that can be used in Nalek learning. The aim of this research to develop the Wong Banten adventure comic media to increase literacy in Cilegon Javanese for class IV elementary schools in Cilegon. The research method used is the development research method with the ADDIE model which has five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluate. The data collection techniques and methods used in this research were interviews and questionnaires, while the data analysis used used descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The results of this development research were that the feasibility score from material experts was 98.64% in the very good category, media experts were 85% in the good category, language experts were 94.28% in the very good category, and student questionnaire responses were 79%. with good category. Based on these results, the Wong Banten adventure comic media can be said to be suitable for use by students in class IV elementary school Nalek learning in Cilegon. It is hope that the result of development of the Wong Banten adventure comic media can be disseminated and used as a medium for learning Cilegon Javanese in Cilegon.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the efforts made by teachers to develop interest in learning Tahfidz Al-Qur’an subjects at SMP PK Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar Kartasura. Then, it also has the aim of knowing the factors that support and hinder the success of students' interest in learning Tahfidz Al-Qur’an subjects at SMP PK Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar Kartasura. This research is a qualitative research. The type of research applied is descriptive research. Type of field research through a qualitative approach. The source of this data is obtained from interviews with students in grades VII, VIII, and IX as well as the teacher who teaches the subject of Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Al-Qur'an. Data collection methods through observation, interviews and documentation. Observations carried out by researchers were directly present at SMP PK Muhammadiyah Al-Kautsar Kartasura. The validity test in this study is using triagulation techniques. Data analysis used is the result of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, conclusions and verification. The results of the research are the teacher's efforts in developing students' desire to learn include the use of various learning methods, providing interesting learning resources, personalized coaching, and collaboration with parents. The results of this study can be concluded that the teacher's efforts in increasing students' desire to learn in the subject of Tahfidz Al-Qur’an Al-Qur'an is by implementing methods to develop expertise in memorizing the Qur'an students are carried out with; 1) halaqah method, 2) talaqqi method, 3) takrir method, 4) giving reweard and punishment, and 5) muroja'ah and motivation. Supporting factors for teachers' efforts in developing students' interest in learning the success of memorizing the Qur'an are; 1) teacher skills and expertise, 2) varied and innovative teaching methods, 3) use of technology, and 4) support from parents and family. As for the inhibiting factors, namely; 1) there are students whose reading of the Qur'an is not perfect, 2) lack of student motivation in memorizing the Qur'an, 3) different levels of student memorization, and 4) time management.

Abstract

Indonesian children must have comprehensive skills to compete globally, including effective communication, critical thinking, morality, civic responsibility, tolerance, and adaptability at the global level. Teachers can apply a problem-based learning model that involves real investigation, analysis, problem identification, hypothesis, experiment, and inference to build comprehensive skills. The purpose of this study is to determine how fourth grade students at SDN Kemayoran 13 use critical thinking skills influenced by learning with a problem-based model. Through the use of the quasi-experiment design method, the population is about 33 students who are separated into experimental and control groups. Initial observations and descriptive tests were conducted to collect data. Homogeneity, normality, and hypothesis tests were used in data analysis, while data presentation used tables. This study shows the results of using a problem-based paradigm in learning to increase students' capacity to think critically in Indonesian language subjects for grade IV students at SDN Kemayoran 13. This is shown by the t-test analysis that produces data with a 2-tailed significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, which leads to the conclusion that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This finding shows that the teaching paradigm with a problem-based model has an effect on the critical thinking of grade IV students at SDN Kemayoran 13.
