Abstract

Electricity has a very vital role in everyday life, therefore the electricity network must be properly maintained and protected, otherwise, not only disrupt the need for electricity  but it can also endanger human safety. One type of electrical hazard that often arises is fire that caused by the electrical equipment used was not under the PUIL Standard (General Requirements for Electrical Installation in Indonesia) and COE (Certificate of Operation Eligibility). Beside carelessly installation that not comply with regulations that often cause electrical short circuit.. The purpose of this community service is to provide knowledge about the safe and correct household electrical installations to residence of Tegalpanjang especially school student so they can also provide information to other community members about dangers and utilization of electricity as well as correct electrical installation. The result of this service activity is the participants has knowledge upgrading and understanding about the dangers and use of electrical installations to avoid fires caused by electrical short circuits.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to provide socialization about the use of Youtube as a medium for improving youth’s creativity so that they are active and creative in making events and activities in their environment. From the implementation of this community service, it is hoped that it can spark enthusiasm of Jagakarsa Karang Taruna’s members to develop their creativity in creating events and activities in their village. This community service was carried out at Karang Taruna RT 002 RW 03 Jagakarsa Village, Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta. The result of this community service activity is that the members of this Karang Taruna are able to edit their video documentation so that it is ready to be published on their Youtube channel Karang Taruna RT 02 RW 03 Jagakarsa.

Abstract

Universities have a role and function to educate the community in addition to conducting lectures. One form of activities from this role is to provide information to the community in the form of providing guidance, sharing knowledge or training. With the advancement of internet technology today, this can be done through online platform. However, this must be supported by qualified equipment in order to gain interesting and acceptable outcomes for the community as well as students. In this service, a studio that can be used to support teaching activities and community counselling for academic community in Politeknik Negeri Bandung is created. The making of this broadcast studio is divided into three stages. The first is the making of a three-dimensional model of the room using 3D modelling software. The second stage is the civil work to build a broadcast studio. The last stage is the completion of the broadcast studio with supporting equipment for video content creation. The results obtained are quite satisfactory. From the majority of answers obtained from the survey, students find this studio useful, quite comfortable to use and worthy of creating video content. For the audio section, the correspondents believe that this aspect still needs to be improved, while the room layout and visual equipment are considered good and attractive.

Abstract

The use of gadgets today has become a major requirement for everyone. In the present, many children are using gadget since childhood especially to watch videos on youtube, play online games, and search for learning materials through the help of the internet.This can be a good step so that children easily adapt to technological developments. But on the other hand, parents must worry if children play gadgets too often and access things that are not age-appropriate, which is not necessarily suitable for their age. It is important for parents to monitor the use of gadgets in children. The role of parents and teachers in dealing with this situation, they must have the ability to monitor and control the use of the internet by parental control applications. It is able to select, limit, and supervise what applications can be accessed by children and adolescents so they can still use gadgets as a learning and entertainment medium without having to be addicted and poisoned by negative content.

Abstract

One impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on education is the mandated learning from home or distance learning (DL) in both state and private education institutions to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. DL may require long periods of time in front of a computer screen, which can create ergonomic issues such as eye, shoulder or neck problems, low back pain, and fatigue or stress. This study was structured to look at the ergonomic behavior of students in the statistics department at Padjadjaran University. The data were gathered using questionnaire, and there were 146 respondents who were willing to answer and send back the questionnaire. The results of the analysis show that the majority of students do not have knowledge about ergonomics when using computers. However, students agree that wrong posture can affect health conditions, especially those related to musculoskeletal disorders. The real impact felt by students is the health condition around their neck, shoulders, waist, bottoms, and wrists.

Abstract

he purpose of this community service activity is to provide training to young farmer groups in Cicarulang village on the use of social media such as Instagram, Whatsapp and Facebook as a means to better market agricultural products, so that they get the best selling price, and to expand their agricultural product market. The method used in this service activity was online training and workshops which were done in two stages. This training was held collaborativelly by Cicarulang young farmer groups and Indraprasta PGRI University. The result of the activity is the improvement of participants’ ability in how to create good and attractive social media accounts, to manage business-based social media accounts as well as to create good marketing content such as making photos and interesting sentences to advertise their products.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activities is to introduce and provide a GeoGebra training to Mathematics teachers at SMP Negeri 11 Depok. GeoGebra is a software that is used as a learning media in Geometry and Algebra as an innovation in learning Mathematics. So far, teachers are using simple tools only to explain about some topics in Mathematics to the students. The community service team will introduce and give a GeoGebra training. The methods that are used are training methods, accommodation, and discussion. The training is carried out by providing theories and practices to the teachers to operate the GeoGebra for Geometry and Algebra. The output target in this community service is the teachers can use GeoGebra as a learning media in Mathematics especially in Geometry and Algebra, GeoGebra module, and scientific articles.

Abstract

Mathematics has many abstract concepts that are hard to understand by students. Learning media as an intermediary play an important role in interpreting difficult materials to them. One of the learning media used by teachers related to mathematics equations and functions is Winplot. This community service is implemented at SMA PGRI 24 Jakarta in 2018. The purposes of this activity are (1) assisting teachers to build learning materials based on constructivism, (2) Assisting teachers to create teaching materials that are interesting and easy to understand by students, and (3) Improving the quality of schools through learning media implementation in teaching-learning activities, such as Winplot. The training method consists of several stages as follows (1) observation and interview, (2) presentation and discussion, and (3) evaluation. The results show that (1) teachers can improve their teaching performances based on constructivism, (2) teachers can develop learning materials which is easy to understand as well as can create an interesting learning atmosphere, especially in subjects related to quadratic equations and functions, (3) the quality of learning and teaching activities in school increases.

Abstract

The rapid development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can be utilized to improve the quality of services in the world of education. Bina Tani Mulya Al Mujahidin Foundation Boarding School Junior High School (YBTMA) previously did not have ICT infrastructure, especially hotspot or access point services. Based on this, it was necessary to provide assistance to design the installation of Microtik hotspot and access point devices, as well as human resource training to use and maintain these devices so that they could be utilized as much as possible. The installation of hotspot devices and access points was carried out on November 9, 2019, while the training was carried out on November 16-17 2019. This program received positive responses from the program recipients. Our strategy of deploying internet access supporting tools, which was then followed by a briefing of theory and practice, was well received.

Abstract

Every organization expects convenience, speed, efficiency and accuracy in their activities, but the level of mastery a technology in each person varies, it becomes a factor in the difficulty of implementing a technology directly. SMK Tinta Emas, is an educational organization that has a vision to improve services in the school service information system to make easier student registration process. This system will accelerate the work process and achieve work effectiveness. The problem that occurs at SMK Tinta Emas is how to implement the application for staffs and teachers with various information technology knowledge backgrounds therefore in the application later there will not be many obstacles that occur due to errors in the use of student data. The community service team as an intermediary between the makers of the student data system involved in the system was asked to provide direction in socialization and education. Finally, the community service team hopes that this implementation and socialization will produce good results for the smooth process of modernizing school student data by applying information technology.
