Abstract

The research objective is to know students’ ability in writing discussion text of class VIII H SMP Negeri 1 Rejang Lebong by applying debate in cooperative learning. This is a classroom action research with two cycles. Every cycle consists of planning, doing, observing, and reflecting. The data was collected through writing tests and observation on teacher and students' activities while teaching and learning occurred. The result of this research shows that there is a significant increase in students’ ability in writing discussion texts through debate. It can be seen from the average score of cycle 1 is 68,59 with the sufficient category and the classical achievement is 45,71%. It increases in cycle II 77,74 with good category and the classical achievement is 82,35%. In addition, using this model can also increase students' and teacher activities in looking for ideas in writing discussion text.

Abstract

Living in the 21st century, almost all activities cannot be detached from digital technology. Most elementary school children are actively using digital technology, including the 5th graders of SD Muhammadiyah Sapen who 88% own smartphones. They use them for social media and entertainment. They are more interested in playing smartphones than studying. They also think the learning materials in the fifth grade are difficult. Even, some children’s learning outcomes are low in the fifth grade. If this situation is permitted, their learning effectiveness will be lowered. Therefore, this best practice is intended to improve the children’s learning effectiveness in fifth grade. The teacher must be able to create appropriate and millennial learning media for them or to become a Youtuber teacher. A Youtuber teacher is a teacher who is able to create and upload learning videos on YouTube. Video creation used laptops and smartphones equipped with PowerPoint applications, factory formats, and viva video. Afterward, the videos are uploaded to the Estin Farida Channel through Youtube. Video links are shared via social media and interactive books or modules. The creation of learning videos uploaded through youtube could improve the children’s learning effectiveness in SD Muhammadiyah Sapen. This can be noticed from the improvements of the learning quality, motivation, learning activities, readiness to receive the lessons, space and time flexibility to stud, and their learning outcomes. Another effect is creativity enhancement and digital literacy. In addition, the videos uploaded on Youtube could be used by almost everyone in SD Muhammadiyah Sapen.

Abstract

The current research’s objectives are to improve the students’ learning creativity and achievement. This research was designed using Classroom Action Research through the implementation of 5E based on STEAM. The research subjects included 32  of the eighth-graders in  SMP Negeri 1 Subang, West Java Province. The students’ creativity was assessed through air balloon creative product and water rocket using Creative Product Semantic Scale (CPSS). Learning achievements were evaluated on Engage phases in Cycle I and II.  Data analysis results show that the students’ learning creativity was improved and science concepts strengthened through self-construction.  The students’ creative inquiry was also improved. The initial mean achievement was equal to 37.67 in phase Engage of Cycle I was increased to 68.41. In-Engage of Cycle II, the students’ achievement was improved from 35.22 to 79.44.

Abstract

This best practice is a report on the author's experience in applying the PjBL-STEAM learning model by using the Camtasia video media to improve learning literacy in Indonesian V grade SDN. 120 Berru. The background of this best practice is that the teacher does not involve the role of student activities, the students' learning outcomes are not optimal, especially in the field of literacy, the teacher does not use learning media, the teacher does not motivate and interact with students to produce products from learning outcomes. This best practice research is focused on improving literacy through PjBL-STEM with classroom action research methods consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. An instrument for data collection. includes student activity observation sheets, learning outcomes tests, interviews, and documentation. The results of this best practice report are taken data after 2 cycles of classroom action research. The results of the qualitative analysis show that the average score of activities and student learning outcomes has increased. Learning activities in the first cycle of the average score of Indonesian learning activities are 60% in the fairly good category and in the second cycle, there is an increase in the average score of Indonesian learning activities, which is 84% ​​in the good category. The learning results in the first cycle showed an average score of 63 learning activities in a fairly good category and in the second cycle, there was an increase of 77 in the good category. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that applying the PjBL-STEAM learning model using video Camtasia media can improve learning literacy.

Abstract

The study aims to improve the ability to read at the beginning of class I students of Public Elementary School 67 in Banda Aceh. This research is classroom action research (PTK) which consists of two cycles, each cycle consisting of three meetings and each meeting consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were class I students of Public Elementary School 67 in Banda Aceh with a total of 28 students. This research was conducted in the odd semester (I) 2018/2019 academic year. Through the use of cardboard, train props can improve the ability to read the beginning of namely pre-cycle students who complete learning as much as 14 (50%) of 28 total students, then increase in the first cycle to 61% and in cycle II increased to 85% means that the level of students' abilities in reading beginning learners Pilot class I Public Elementary School 67 in Banda Aceh experienced increase a significant of pre-cycle up to the second cycle.

Abstract

The completeness of activities and learning outcomes have not reached 75%, because the learning processes were implemented through image media both in the student's book and discussion methods. The research problem is focused on how to increase the students’ learning activities and outcomes after learning with the mekubar (Pop Up). The research objective is to describe the increase in activity and learning outcomes of data processing material after being given learning with the mecubar (Pop Up). The design is a classroom action research. The subjects included children in grade VI SDN Rejosari 03 Semarang. The instrument consisted of observation, questionnaire, and learning outcomes sheets. The data analysis technique is conducted descriptively. The results show that the students’ activity increased from 73% to 87% and the learning outcomes from 77% to 91%. Learning mathematics through mekubar (Pop Up) has been interesting. Teachers can use learning media suitable for learning materials.

Abstract

The research objective is to describe the application of discovery-based student worksheets to the Human Circulatory System Basic Competence to improve science process skills and learning outcomes. This research is a classroom action research recruiting students in class VIII-5 at SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung school year 2018/2019 through purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is a learning device and research data collector. Data collection on science process skills is carried out using an observation instrument of science process skills while learning outcomes data use written test instruments. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The data analysis results show the students’ average percentage of science process skills in the first cycle of 40.11% lies in the medium category, the second cycle of 67.19% in the high criteria, while the third cycle of 86.46% was very high. The average students’ competency in the first cycle showed 69.44 lies in a high category, the second cycle 70.95 is also high category and 76.56 competencies in the third cycle with very high criteria. Thus the application of student worksheets based on this invention has met the criteria of success indicators and they have improved science process skills and learning outcomes of the students in class VIII-5 in SMP Negeri 32 Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2018/2019.

Abstract

Learning mathematics using media of tak-tik koper is an innovation in solving SPLDV problems with a short case, uncomplicated manner, and a reasonable level of accuracy. Tak-tik koper is an acronym of confident, that is made of (1) cardboard or stereo form as a base board, (2) colorful papers as cards which is written numbers for coefficients, symbols of operation, and letters for variables, (3) pins as adhesive. By means of this media, it will produce a solution based on cross multiplication, so that it will be obtained a general formula as another way to solve the problems of the two variables linear equations system (SPLDV). Based on the purpose of using the media of tak-tik koper, is to improve the skills and activeness in solving SPLDV problems for students of VIII-A grade at  SMPN 4 Percontohan for the 2018/2019 academic year, which results in a classical increase for the student's mastery of learning from 16,13% during the learning which did not use the media of tak-tik koper to 90.32% at the end after using the media of tak-tik koper during the learning process and an increase in the percentage of the average score of student’s activities by 8.34%.

Abstract

One of the purposes of the learning activity on Curriculum 2013 is improving collaboration skills. However, the students' collaborative skill at the seventh graders of  SMP PGRI Otam is poor, due to the minimum availability of learning facilities, infrastructure, and media. This study investigates the effectiveness of the Group Investigation (GI) learning model assisted with the Investigation, Recycling, Information and Technology acronym DUIT for improving the student's collaborative skills at the seventh graders of SMP PGRI Otam. DUIT starts in designing media from recycled materials and collaborating with information technology products in the learning process. In this research, the solar system media is uploaded through the learning house portal, YouTube, and other learning resources. This research employed a quasi-experimental design with “Two-group posttest only”, where the teacher compared the final collaboration skills from the class given DUIT media-assisted GI learning model with a control class. To obtain the data, this research using observation sheets. The results showed that there were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group. Finally, it can be concluded that the DUIT media-assisted GI learning model enhances the effectiveness and collaboration skills of the seventh-grade students of SMP PGRI Otam.

Abstract

The research objective is to know the learning implementation through Cooperative Learning Model with Snowball Throwing assisted with GERHANA (acronym of Gerak Harmoni Bertanya) on the children’s learning outcomes. The design was that of a Classroom Action Research, expecting an active, effective, efficient, and enthusiastic learning atmosphere. Actions were taken in two cycles, organized sequentially in planning, action, observation, and refection.  Data were collected through observation and questionnaire. This research was collaboratively conducted with colleagues in SD Negeri 57 Kota Ternate. There were 30 children recruited as the subjects. Data analysis results show that the children’s learning outcomes improved from 53% in cycle I to 88% in cycle II.  Whereas, the children’s learning activities were also improved from 69% in cycle I to 73% in cycle II. It can be concluded that the implementation of the Cooperative Learning Model assisted with the acronym GERHANA could enhance the children’s learning activities and outcomes.
