Papers can be written in Bahasa or English. This journal serves as a forum for the international community to discuss and present the research as well as facilitate discussion of new methodologies or research techniques in the fields of economics and tourism. The Journal of Tourism and Economics continues to develop various sub-themes related to economics (including accounting and management) and tourism (including culture). Journal scope is international and includes research on aspects of economic studies and tourism issues. This journal also provides opportunities for researchers and scholars from various disciplines of science who have new views and ideas to share with other academics, especially in matters that focus on tourism, culture and economic studies. All papers will be followed up and reviewed by the research community before publication.

Abstract

In order to advance Indonesian tourism, it is necessary to implement smart tourism. The purpose of this study is to describe the urgency of implementing smart tourism for the advancement of Indonesian tourism. This research is qualitative research with descriptive analysis and using literature study data collection techniques. The results of the research that has been carried out show that the existence of smart tourism is basically an effort to meet the needs of tourists by combining information technology devices. Tourists currently need travel application facilities in order to facilitate travel and determine tourism activities from the information provided so that tourists can access them when they need them. The application of the smart tourism concept will be the development of innovation between technology and tourist information needs. Optimizing the utilization of all the potential and resources owned will encourage an increase in the tourist experience of tourism activities. The development of the smart tourism concept will also always coexist with technological advances so it requires continuous innovation in order to achieve the expected goals. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the concept of smart tourism is able to provide tourism experiences and services by utilizing technological advances from stakeholders (government, destination managers, local communities, and tourists) who utilize information and communication technology.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the management of religious tourism attractions in the Tomb of Habib Ahmad bin Ali Bafaqih and find out what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the management of religious tourism attractions. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research with data collection methods used are interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that the management of religious tourism at the tomb of Habib Ahmad Bafaqih was managed directly by the heirs by implementing management functions, namely by planning, organizing, mobilizing and supervising the program of religious activities in the tomb.

Abstract

This research attempts to learn the influence of electronic word of mouthon visiting interest and tourist visiting decisions through the @explorejogja account. The sample in this study revealed 137 accounts that had become followers of the @explorejogja account which were randomly selected. The data collection method used in this study is to use a questionnaire. The data obtained were then processed using descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results of this study indicate that electronic news has an effect on visiting interest and has an impact on tourist visiting decisions. This is a tour from followers of @explorejogja who felt interested and then decided to visit the object uploaded to the @explorejogja account after seeing every photo, video and positive review.

Abstract

Tourism villages are currently the government's flagship program through the tourism sector that can encourage the development of post-pandemic tourism, this is due to the nature of tourism villages that can provide direct benefits to local and surrounding communities. The dynamic development of tourism also provides challenges in the development of tourist villages, so evaluation is needed as one of the strategies in village management. This research aims to evaluate the condition of Pacarejo Tourism Village using a qualitative descriptive method based on the theory of tourism villages, so that it can provide the proper strategies in determining guidelines and strategies for future development as an Independent Tourism Village based on local values.

Abstract

This research aims to descriptively identify the competitiveness of tourist destinations in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan Province, according to the perspective of stakeholders, namely the local government and owners of tourist destination. It then classifies the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats under SWOT Analysis framework. This study also explains the sustainability of tourist destinations measured from economic, socio-cultural and environmental componentsUsing qualitative descriptive technique, our data. were taken from secondary and primary sources, namely from the Tourism Office of Kutai Kartanegara, Indonesian. and through sample field visits by interviewing informants  from Benua Elai (Belai) Tourism Village (Desa Wisata Benua Elai) in Sub-District of Loa Janan. The research results show that the competitiveness of tourist destinations in Kutai Kartanegara has comparative and competitive advantages. Comparatively, natural tourism has 74 destinations, followed by cultural tourism with 157 destinations. There are also 21 artificial tourist destinations. In terms of competitive advantage, institutional support from the district government in supporting the development of community-managed tourist destinations through Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) has been carried out. From the aspect of sustainability, tourist destinations such as Desa Belai have the potential to improve well-being of surrounding communities, though the position of tourist destinations has been threatened by large-scale mining activities. These coal mining explorations may harm sustainability of village tourism and its prospect to be leading growth sector.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the partial and simultaneous influence between E-WOM on Instagram, destination image and domestic tourist satisfaction with the intention to revisit Jakarta Aquarium and Safari. This study used multiple linear regression analysis techniques with purposive sampling techniques totaling 130 samples, which the samples were domestic tourists who had visited Jakarta Aquarium and Safari at least 2x. The results of this study show that there is a positive and significant influence of E-WOM on Instagram on the intention to revisit the Jakarta Aquarium and Safari and shows that there is a positive and significant influence of the image of the destination on the intention to revisit the Jakarta Aquarium and Safari. However, there was no significant effect of domestic tourist satisfaction on the intention to revisit the Jakarta Aquarium and Safari. In addition, the results of this study show that there is a positive and significant influence of E-WOM on Instagram, destination image and domestic tourist satisfaction together on the intention to visit Jakarta Aquarium and Safari again. With the coefficient of determination (R-Square) is 27.8% of the intention to visit Jakarta Aquarium and Safari is influenced by E-WOM on Instagram, destination image and domestic tourist satisfaction.

Abstract

Pangandaran is one of the regencies with the greatest potential in the tourism sector, where the tourism sector is the leading sector that generates the largest regional income for the Pangandaran Regency. Regional tourism potential that is used as a tourist object and attraction can be in the form of natural conditions, flora, fauna, regional culture of Pangandaran Regency and national culture both in the form of ideas, social life or in the form of the work of the people in Pangandaran Regency. To achieve this, the role of the community in tourism development in Pangandaran Regency through Kompempar must accommodate the aspirations of all tourist destination objects in Pangandaran Regency. This is in accordance Pangandaran Regency Regional Regulation Number 14 of 2015 concerning the Implementation of Tourism in Pangandaran Regency.

Abstract

Nowadays, the segmentation of solo travel in the tourism market is growing faster than other categories of travel, particularly among those classified as Generation Z. However, few studies have examined solitary travel experiences and motivation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine Generation Z's motivations for solo travel. This research employs a quantitative survey method with a Likert scale and a quantitative approach. In this investigation, 30 young people participated as respondents. The technique applied to data analysis is descriptive statistical analysis. According to the findings of this study, the majority of Generation Z solo travelers are female, work as students, and have traveled solo 1-2 times. The results of the study also indicate that the primary tourist motivation for solo travel is to enjoy the destination's tourist attractions. Furthermore, they consider various factors such as value for money, looking for an inspiration, interaction with local citizens, healing purposes, the influence of social media, and self-actualization. This study's findings can be adopted by destination managers to develop recommendations for responding to the necessities of Generation Z tourists, the largest proportion of tourists at this time.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial performance on stock prices at PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk for the period 2017-2021. The independent variables used in this study are financial performance, namely Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Return On Assets (ROA), Return On Equity (ROE), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Non Performing Loans (NPL), and Operational Expenditure to Operating Income (BOPO) and Stock Price as the dependent variable. The analytical method used is multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21. The results show that Return On Equity (ROE) partially has a negative and significant effect on stock prices, Operational Expenditures on Operating Income (BOPO) partially has a negative and insignificant effect on stock prices shares, Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Non Performing Loans (NPL) partially have no effect on stock prices. Meanwhile, the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Return On Equity (ROE), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Non Performing Loans (NPL), and Operational Spending to Operating Income (BOPO) simultaneously have a significant effect on stock prices. Interactions from the independent variables CAR, ROE, LDR, NPL, and BOPO with a share price of 70.4% and the difference of 29.6% is explained by other factors.

Abstract

The tradition ceremony of Gumbreg Ageng is the deliver of thankful feeling to God the Almighty who has given His Blessings that is Rajakaya animals such as cows, buffaloes, horses,  and goats which are used to help to maintain good agriculture and reproduce well. One of the function of Gumbreg Animal tradition ceremony is to strengthen the existing noble cultural values which have been long existed for years. The objective of the research is to describe and explore the noble cultural values that is embodied in tradition ceremony of Gumbreg Ageng. The method of the research used descriptive qualitative analysis. The techniques to obtain the data were through interviews, literature reviews, direct observation and documentation i.e. photos as well as resource data from Marsudi, Tukimin bin Kyai Ahmad Monawi, Sumarno and Bayu Endriyanto. The result of the study found out that the noble cultural values which were embodied in tradition ceremony Gumbreg Ageng are the value of religious aspects, the value of respecting ancestors, the social value of the community, economic values and the value of cultural tourism assets. The tradition ceremony of Gumbreg Ageng is one of the cultural and tourism assets in Indonesia, especially in the Special Region of Yogyakarta which contains noble values that need to be preserved and deserves to be developed.
