Abstract

Wound is a state of damage to body tissue caused by animal bites, scratchessharp objects. A rapid wound healing process is expected. Papaya leaf is effective as a wound healer, the use of extracts directly on the skin is not practical and optimal. In order to be practical and effective, it is formulated in the form of ointment preparations. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of papaya leaf (Carica papaya L.) ethanol extract ointment preparation in healing cut wounds in New Zealand white rabbits made in the form of ointment preparations. The extract was given with different concentrations of 5%, 10% and 15%. The ointment preparation was tested on test animals with a wound length of 2 cm. The positive control used was povidone iodine, while the negative control used ointment bases namely adeps lanae and vaseline album. The data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA (Analysis of Variant). Based on the results of the research that has been done, the concentration of papaya leaf ethanol extract ointment that is most effective in healing cuts is at a concentration of 15%.

Abstract

Cough and cold in infants are common health issues caused by viral infections in the upper respiratory tract, which negatively affect the baby's quality of life. Massage therapy has been applied to relieve these symptoms, but many mothers still lack understanding about common cold massage and how to care for their babies when experiencing cough and cold. Most mothers tend to rely on applying telon oil or taking their babies to healthcare facilities for treatment. Massage has been practiced for centuries across the world. It can have a positive effect on the body and bring about beneficial physiological changes that can be measured scientifically. This study aims to determine the effect of an intervention on the participants' knowledge, as well as to examine the distribution of respondents based on education and age. The research used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The paired t-test showed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.05). Most respondents had a senior high school education level (73.08%) and were aged 21–30 years (61.54%). These findings indicate that common cold massage is effective in improving mothers' understanding of how to manage cough and cold in infants, making it a valuable educational alternative in child care. Thus, the right approach can lead to meaningful change.

Abstract

Background: The National Social Security System is organized through a mandatory Social Health Insurance mechanism based on Law No. 40 of 2004 concerning the National Social Security System. The goal is to fulfill the basic needs of decent public health and the protection of the Indonesian people in the insurance system. However, the journey of the program with the most BPJS patients in the hospital is a problem, there are obstacles in the hospital regarding the submission of claims, the hospital bears the risk of costs if the claim submitted is delayed or the claim is not accepted. Objective: to determine the descriptive causes of the return of BPJS health claim files for inpatients in terms of claim submission requirements. Methods: Descriptive qualitative research using case studies where researchers explore a particular phenomenon (case) in a time and activity (program, event, process, institution or social group), collecting detailed and in-depth information using various data collection procedures during a certain period. Results: Some of the factors causing delays in claims are differences in coding perceptions by casmix officers, incorrect reading of diagnoses and medical records, less casemix officers as verifiers of internal claims in hospitals, regulations from health bpjs regarding disbursement of claims according to the MOU per month if it does not reach then the claim is postponed in the month of giving.

Abstract

Hypertension is a prevalent condition among older adults and is associated with serious complications, including cardiovascular disease, stroke, and renal failure. Non-pharmacological interventions, particularly the use of functional foods, have gained increasing attention due to their natural benefits and minimal adverse effects. This case study aimed to evaluate the effect of daily watermelon juice consumption on blood pressure in a 61 year old woman with a history of hypertension residing in Dusun Walahir Tonggoh, Welasari Village, Majalengka Regency. The patient received 300 mL of freshly prepared watermelon juice once daily for four consecutive days. Nursing care was delivered using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Blood pressure was measured before and after the intervention using a manual sphygmomanometer. The results demonstrated a clinically meaningful reduction in blood pressure, from an average of 155/90 mmHg to 140/80 mmHg, indicating the potential effectiveness of watermelon juice in lowering blood pressure. This study concludes that watermelon juice may serve as a promising, natural, and affordable complementary therapy to support hypertension management in elderly patients.

Abstract

Excessive internet use among adolescents may affect mental health, including increasing anxiety. This study aimed to determine the relationship between internet addiction and anxiety levels among adolescents at SMA Islam Sabilal Muhtadin Banjarmasin. This study employed a quantitative correlational design with total sampling, involving all Grade X and XI students who met the criteria, totaling 50 respondents. Research instruments were the Internet Addiction Test (IAT) and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test. The results showed levels of internet addiction: none 6 (12.0%), mild 21 (42.0%), moderate 23 (46.0%); and anxiety levels: none 8 (16.0%), mild 24 (48.0%), moderate 14 (28.0%), severe 4 (8.0%). Pearson correlation yielded r = 0.665 with p < 0.001, indicating a positive and significant relationship between internet addiction and anxiety levels. Higher internet addiction scores were associated with higher levels of anxiety. It is recommended that schools and parents monitor internet use and implement mental health education programs for adolescents.

Abstract

Pleural effusion is a pathological condition characterized by fluid accumulation in the pleural cavity, which can occur due to infection, malignancy, or systemic disorders such as congestive heart failure. Cytological examination is an effective diagnostic method for detecting abnormal cells and malignancy in pleural effusion by reviewing the quality of staining results. This study aims to analyze and compare the staining quality of Papanicolaou, Giemsa, and May Grunwald Giemsa in pleural effusion cytology examination. The literature review results included 8 journals that met the inclusion criteria. These journals were obtained from the Google Scholar, PubMed, and Publish or Perish databases using the PICO search method and then selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria using the PRISMA flow diagram. The results of the literature review showed that the Papanicolaou method provided clearer contrast between the nucleus and cytoplasm with a good background, Giemsa displayed cell morphology but the background was less clean, while May-Grunwald Giemsa showed stable staining results and good cell detail.

Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) must begin with the development of children. Monitoring children's growth and development is very important. The role of parents in family life can determine the steps that must be taken to help children's development. Early detection of child development is carried out through periodic developmental assessments in four areas, namely gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language and cognitive skills, independence, and socialization. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of the assessment of children aged 60-72 months using the Developmental Pre-Screening Questionnaire (KPSP) at Sawitto Kindergarten in Pinrang Regency. This study used a descriptive method with a total sampling technique involving 35 children. Based on the data obtained, the majority of children aged 60-72 months were in the category of development appropriate for their age, namely 28 children (80%), 5 children (14.3%) were in the doubtful category, and 2 children (5.7%) were in the developmental deviation category. Children aged 72 months tended to show better development than children aged 60 months, indicating that as they get older, children generally experience better developmental improvement. In addition, the development of boys was slightly more dominant than that of girls. Of the four aspects of development analyzed, gross motor skills showed the most optimal results, while speech and language were the aspects that experienced the most discrepancies. This study recommends improving periodic monitoring of child development through instruments such as the KPSP, in order to detect developmental delays or deviations at an earlier stage.
