Abstract

The rapid development of technology has brought significant changes to the world of education, particularly in communication and information management. One example is Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darul Ghufron, located in Batam, which has yet to utilize a website as a digital platform for managing academic and administrative information. Implementing a website in a school environment offers several benefits, including making information more accessible to the public, simplifying administrative processes such as new student registration, and reducing reliance on physical documents. The unavailability of a website causes the New Student Admission (PPDB) process to remain conventional, leading to delays in announcements and the risk of physical document damage or loss. This study aims to design and develop a school website with an online PPDB feature that can be accessed by prospective students, parents, and the general public. The website is designed using the waterfall system development method, which includes requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. System testing is conducted through black box testing to ensure the website’s functionality meets user expectations. The study’s results indicate that this school website facilitates new student registration, provides broad access to school information, and assists teachers in managing applicant data, from registration to selection announcements. This website is expected to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in school data management and address the public's need for accessible information.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has had a significant impact across various sectors, including higher education. One promising AI implementation is a Question Answering (QA)-based chatbot to assist in delivering information automatically and efficiently. This study aims to design and develop a QA chatbot using the Flowise AI framework as an information service solution for new student admissions at Universitas Prabumulih. The system development method includes requirements analysis, chatbot architecture design, implementation with integration of a Large Language Model (LLM), and functionality testing. The testing results show that the chatbot is capable of providing relevant and prompt answers to various frequently asked questions related to student admissions, such as registration requirements, selection schedules, and tuition fees. The implementation of this chatbot is expected to improve the quality of information services and communication efficiency between prospective students and the university.

Abstract

This research aims to improve operational efficiency and accuracy of transaction data at Pondok Makan Raja Sambel through the implementation of a Point of Sale (POS) information system. This research method is a system development method that analyzes transaction data before and after system implementation. The point-of-sale system developed is web-based and integrated with the inventory management module. The research results show that the Implementation of the Point of Sale system has succeeded in increasing transaction speed, reducing recording errors, and providing more accurate information regarding sales and stock of goods. Apart from that, the Point of Sale system also makes it easier to prepare financial reports. An obstacle encountered during implementation was the resistance of some employees to the use of new technology. The implementation of the point of sale system has had a significant positive impact on the operational performance of Pondok Makan Raja Sambel.
