Abstract

The cold-rolled coil is a raw material for manufacturing industries such as automotive, household appliances, property, and other industries that use steel plates. The production process during January - June 2020 was not good enough, so that the production process had a defect. The types of defects include stoppage marks, bad trimmer, and over the pickle. This study aims to measure Cpk, and sigma quality levels' process capability and analyze the root causes of low product quality. This study uses the Six Sigma method with the phase Define, Measure, Analyze and Improve. The results showed that Cpk = 1.27, and the sigma value of 3.86. Types of defects that occur are a 72,9% stoppage mark, 17,8% bad trimmer, and 9.3% over the pickle. Recommendations for improvements can be made by conducting training for employees, supervising production employees, periodic maintenance of machines/equipment, and controlling production processes. Six Sigma implementation can identify and improve the quality problems that occur.

Abstract

The facility layout design greatly affects the performance of a company. Poor facility layout will lead to poor material flow patterns and relatively high movement of materials, products, information, equipment and labor which causes delays in product completion and increases production costs. Facility layout design aims to analyze improvements in production activities. In preparing the layout of the facility, this research applies the 5S method to see what needs to be improved and to redesign the factory layout. The object of this research was conducted at PT. XYZ. The results showed that the redesign of the facility layout of the light bulb processing factory of PT.XYZ consists of several parts that must be improved in order to obtain the best final layout. The redesign of this facility layout does not have to require additional areas, this can be done by rearranging it. Based on the trial questionnaire before applyingthe 5S method,it was found that seiri,seiso,seiton,seiketsu,shitsuke needed improvement, while after redesigning using 5S method, it was found that only seiketsu and shitsuke needed improvement.

Abstract

During the current pandemic, there are many permanent or temporary termination of employment by the company so that it has a very significant impact on the income of parents or students, where the reduced income generated makes it difficult for students to pay tuition fees every year. Therefore, in this study, a comparative analysis of the feasibility of students to be able to receive scholarship assistance will be carried out using the Moora and Topsis methods. Moora method is one of the methods in a decision support system where the way it works is by creating a normalization matrix and calculating the optimization value of each attribute, resulting in a ranking that is done by reducing the maximum and minimum values. While Topsis method is a method that produces rankings by making alternative preferences and comparing the results of the best alternatives. The variables used in the simulation of the eligibility analysis of scholarship recipients are the Grade Point Average (GPA), Parents' Income, House Type and Children's Dependents. The results of the research using the Moora method get an accuracy value of 70% , while the Topsis method gets an accuracy value of 80%. So it can be said that the Moora method produces better decisions in the selection of eligibility for scholarship recipients in the Informatics Study Program

Abstract

Every asset in the operation of certain services, transportation or services will experience a change in each period of time. Replacement is made on an asset that is damaged, operating costs are too high, or a change in technology makes an equipment unusable. CV. X is a company engaged in providing services for transportation fleets, one of which is dump trucks. Today, companies are often faced with complex replacement problems and only apply the depreciation method to determine the life of their equipment. This study aims to propose determining the age of dump trucks with optimal replacement intervals and to find out the hourly usage costs incurred by the company at the optimal replacement age. This method uses the hourly cost as the basis for determining the optimal replacement life. The research data is in the form of secondary company data consisting of maintenance data such as vehicle purchase price data, fuel consumption, lubricant consumption, labor wages, annual operating hours, productivity, rental rate, interest rate value, and income tax rate. The parameters are in 1000 hour intervals. The optimal replacement life for dump trucks is in the interval of 30,000 hours – 40,000 hours or 12-16 years. The hourly usage cost at the optimal replacement life interval with the productivity approach is $159.74 and the hourly usage cost with the rental rate approach is $104.64.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is a palm oil factory (PKS) producing crude palm oil (CPO). PT. XYZ has not implemented an effective engine maintenance system. The maintenance system that has been implemented is corrective maintenance, which is making repairs when there is damage. In addition, it is also assisted with planned maintenance that is scheduled every week to clean production machines. Therefore it is necessary to identify machine components that are susceptible to damage (critical components) and it is necessary to take special care measures for critical machine components by implementing a predective maintenance schedule (Prevention). Simulation techniques, often known as Monte Carlo simulation, estimate reliability using sampling random scenario. Failure mode effect analisys (FMEA) is defined as a process used to determine the actions that should be taken to ensure that each physical item or a system can run properly according to the function desired by the user then based on data processing, replacement of the roller binding drum binding drum , angle iron welding, chain transmission component replacement, drum stopper bearing replacement. Replacement of the drum stopper bolt, replacement of the chain transmission part is very loose and the replacement of the iron is carried out in corrective maintenance (replacement of components after damage occurs). And the results at the lowest value on the thresher engine component are in the Loose Transmission Chain component, the repair rate is 0.5 hours and the number is 0.999737189. Based on the results of the analysis of numbers (availability), the highest number is found in Broken Elbow Iron with a repair rate of 3 hours and the number 0.999605833

Abstract

XYZ is a company engaged in the processing of palm oil into crude palm oil (CPO). In processing oil palm fruit, the digester machine is one of the machines that crush the loose fruit so that the pulp of the palm fruit can be separated from the nuts / seeds and this will facilitate the pressing process of the oil palm fruit in a screw press. Total productive maintenance (TPM) is a system that is useful in increasing factory productivity and the efficiency of company production by using machines / equipment effectively used to produce a product. The main purpose of implementing TPM is carried out through the overall equipment effectiveness analysis method to identify and types of damage to critical components that are the object of research and to increase the overall equipment effectiveness value as a performance measure of the results of this study. To determine the comparison of the overall equipment effectiveness value, the calculation of the effectiveness value of the digester machine is carried out using the overall equipment effectiveness method. Based on the results of data processing, it can be concluded that the overall equipment effectiveness value of the digester machine is 3.95%, which is obtained from the availability ratio of 41.24%, the performance efficiency ratio of 157.57 and the rate of quality product of 100%.

Abstract

Government agencies, of course, have honorary staff. The honorary staff in its development aims to assist the performance of Civil Servants (PNS) where civil servants are already overwhelmed in carrying out the functions of the local government, one of which is in public services. Civil servants and honorary staff have an important role for the community in providing maximum public services, especially in the Deli Serdang Regency Education Office. In the process of realizing these services, the Education Office analyzes the performance of the honorary staff. The scopes to be analyzed include attendance, work discipline, cooperation, public services and other supporting factors. In the assessment process, an effective system is needed to see the results of the performance of the honorary staff, so a Decision Support System is needed to see these results. In this study the author uses a Decision Support System for Performance Analysis of Honorary Personnel at the Education Office of Deli Serdang Regency by applying the Weighted Product (WP) method. In this study, the authors also ranked the sample of honorary workers through the criteria listed to determine honorary workers who are entitled to an extension of their tenure.

Abstract

Information technology, especially the internet, is currently growing very rapidly, due to the increasing number of people who disseminate information through the internet. The development of the number of users of Internet information technology is currently not followed by the addition of appropriate bandwidth, so problems often arise related to the speed of access to get internet services. An easy way to save bandwidth and force authentication on information traffic is to use squid. The use of Squid can be used to increase the need to speed up information retrieval. By using the Squid application, the router can be used as a proxy server for internet web cache. At the time of installing Squid without a proxy, testing was carried out on the https://www.kompas.com url and the results of the first load on a website resulted in a load time of 36 seconds, there was no difference in bandwidth usage and time whether using a proxy server or not, but the second page load on the same site with a faster load time of 30 seconds will save bandwidth. Then the installation of Squid using a proxy was carried out, testing was carried out on the https://www.kompas.com url and the results of the first load on a website resulted in a load time of 34 seconds, there was no difference in bandwidth usage and time, whether using a proxy server or not, but on the second page load on the same site with a faster load time of 16 seconds, it will save bandwidth and be faster by using squid compared to not using squid.

Abstract

This Decision Support System is to facilitate the selection stage of the best Kelurahan which is held by the District of Padang Hulu, Kota Tebing Tinggi. Kelurahan is the division of administrative areas in Indonesia under sub-districts. Kelurahan is the work area of ​​the lurah as a Regency or City regional apparatus. One of the efforts carried out by the best kelurahan is to encourage development carried out by the kelurahan on the basis of their own determination and strength and to determine the kelurahan that excels in the implementation of community empowerment. Decision Support System (DSS) is a system that is able to provide problem solving skills and communication skills for problems with structured and unstructured conditions. DSS aims to provide information, guide, provide predictions and direct information users so that they can make better decisions. This system is a Decision Support System (DSS) which was built using the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method. Data processing will be carried out by a selection team from the Padang Hulu sub-district office by entering the value of each sub-district in Padang Hulu District, Tebing Tinggi City. Then the system will perform calculations according to the provisions of the Weighted Aggregated Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method which ultimately results in a ranking that can help the selection team of the Padang Hulu District Office of Tebing Tinggi City in comparing the rankings obtained. The system built using the WASPAS method has been able to determine which village is the best in Padang Hulu District, Tebing Tinggi City.
