Abstract

Greenhouse gases are gases trapped in the earth's atmosphere that cause the earth's surface temperature to become hot, when during the day the sun emits rays that can penetrate into the earth's atmosphere and warm the earth while at night the earth's surface becomes cold and can release the earth's heat back into the air, with the presence of these gases so that they can reflect the earth's heat back to the earth again because that is called greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases that occur due to excessive human activity resulting in the release of a number of greenhouse gases into the earth's atmosphere. Greenhouse gases are caused by excessive human activity that results in the release of a number of greenhouse gases into the earth's atmosphere. Greenhouse gases increased in 2020 due to factors such as the burning of coal, oil and natural gas produced from Indonesia's industrial energy sector. Then there was a decrease in gas emissions, due to Covid-19 in the use of fuel in the transportation sector, but in 2021 until now there has been an increase caused by the energy sector and industrial activities. Based on this, this analysis focuses on government efforts to reduce greenhouse gases. In this analysis, using bibliometric analysis as a method used to analyse how trends and developments regarding research on greenhouse gases. The results of this analysis refer the government's real steps by using renewable energy such as solar energy and geothermal energy to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases.

Abstract

The financial, operational, and business issues facing SOEs have reduced the trust that investors and citizens have in the state's capacity to effectively promote national economic growth. Most countries, especially developing ones like South Africa, have been plagued by the issue of inadequate public service delivery. One key contributing factor to this problem has been identified as the poor governance practices of SOEs. The magnitude of these massive SOE business failures, which surpassed the failure of numerous other enterprises around the world, drew attention to the urgent need for new corporate governance studies. To contribute to this, the study explores the corporate governance of South African SOEs, with a focus on leadership and compliance. To achieve this, an online questionnaire was used to gather quantitative data from a sample of 288 internal audit professionals. The data collected was then analyzed using SPSS software, and descriptive statistics were employed to present the findings. The study found that corporate governance malpractices are common in SOEs, which include hiring managers and executives who lack the necessary qualifications and experience, high tender irregularities, and understaffing critical duties. This study is unique in that it employs stakeholder theory in an innovative approach to explain the findings, notably on the leadership issue. Besides, it contains critical recommendations for SOE leadership and policymakers on how to improve the corporate governance of SOEs to help them achieve their strategic goals, while also suggesting future study directions.

Abstract

One of the company's heavy burdens is being inefficient with an excessive number of employees, who ultimately become unproductive because they exceed the company's capabilities, namely both organic and non-organic employees/outsourcing. The research aims to analyze the role and efforts made by the PTKS Corporate Communication Division in the Restructuring program. The theories used are co-orientation theory and adaptive structural theory (AST). The method used is a case study, with data collection techniques through observation and interviews with several credible informants who know and are involved in this problem. The research results show that the role of PTKS Corporate Communication in managing crisis communications tends to be limited by the principal director of PT Krakatau Steel in terms of communication and publication to the public, especially to the media, to ensure that restructuring program information is released from one door. In this case, the leadership of the PTKS President Director was very dominant; at that time, only a few employees were allowed to speak to the public. It shows that in this restructuring program, the role of the Corporate Communication Division is different from the task description set by the company.

Abstract

This study sought to determine the Role of Financial Literacy on Accessibility, Growth and Sustainability in Small and Medium Enterprises Zimbabwe. It underlines the role of SMEs in generating employment and Gross Domestic Product during a challenging financial environment where high interest rates, strict collateral requirements, as well as lack of specialized products for SMEs leave much to be desired. Financial literacy was also given priority in the research as crucial for SME owners and managers so that they can apply financial services efficiently not just understanding them but doing such things borrowing, budgets, investment, and risk management. The main value of the study was in its ability to guide policymakers, financial institutions, and educators about how a good training on financial literacy could improve SMEs’ performance and growth. The research emphasized the gap in growth among SMEs despite government action, addressing any existing gaps relative to a study done on the impact of financial literacy as compared with performances by various enterprises. The methodology involved a positivist research philosophy, an explanatory research design and a case study approach which utilised both quantitative and qualitative data analysis. This study was set geographically as SMEs in Harare with the data collected through questionnaires and secondary sources such as Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and World Bank. Upon data analysis, there was a strong relationship between financial literacy and SME performance. In conclusion, the study established that financial literacy played a critical role in determining whether SMEs were successful and sustainable in Zimbabwe.

Abstract

In South Africa, inventiveness is a critical factor in expansion and growth, and small and medium-sized businesses have been designated as tools for achieving the societal and economic objectives and innovation outlined in the National Development Plan. The aim of this research is to look at the impact of inventiveness on small and medium-sized profitability in South Africa. The quantile regression method was utilised in empirical studies to explore the influence of inventiveness on enterprise profitability across different sales stages. The research was based on data from the World Bank's business questionnaire. The research results showed that expenses on development and research had a positive and substantial influence on profitability for businesses with greater sales (fast expansion or bigger enterprises). Existing proof demonstrates that incorporating new items and services boosts profitability for businesses with low progress or tiny businesses. Based on empirical evidence, inventiveness is essential for the growth and development of small and medium-sized businesses. Smaller or low-growth businesses don't have the ability to make expenditures on R&D because of a shortage of funds, which could contribute to their low chances of surviving. Considering the significant cash investment needed for R&D expenditures, additional support could be offered to smaller businesses in less powerful sales expansion. Because of a lack of funding for R&D, smaller businesses are being driven to create new items and production procedures that do not require big financial commitments.

Abstract

The paper aimed to examine the awareness of unpredictability in economic policy, fiscal decentralization, and innovative approaches to preserve the environment in South Africa using annual recurrence data from 1961 to 2021 in South Africa. Dynamic ordinary least squares, completely adjusted ordinary least squares, and canonical cointegration regression are used in this study. The Maki cointegration test shows how the factors maintain an equilibrium relationship throughout the period under consideration. Data from empirical results support the environmental Kuznets curve paradigm. These findings show that the environment must be compromised during the early phases of economic growth to achieve economic success (scale phase). Long-term exponential growing economies decrease pollutants by 0.162%, but a 1% increase in economic expansion raises pollutants by 0.791%, according to the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis. Similarly, in South Africa, long-term economic globalization, as well as unpredictability in economic policy, reduce the sustainability of the environment. In contrast, long-term fiscal decentralization and sustainable development increase it. These findings have far-reaching environmental implications. The current analysis encouraged environmental penalties and funding for projects transitioning from an energy electrical utility basis to renewables.
