Abstract

This research aims to explain the phenomenon of identity politics in the context of Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) in the scheme of the relationship between ethnicity and voters' political preferences in Pilkada contestations. The case raised in this research is the Kupang City Pilkada during the last two periods which included the pair Yonas Salean and Dr. Herman Man in the 2012-2017 period and the couple Jefri Riwu Kore and Dr. Herman Man in the 2017-2022 period. Interestingly, the two democratic contestation celebrations were won by the Mayor candidate who was paired with Dr. Herman Man. This fact gave rise to a number of assumptions that placed the figure of Dr. Herman Man as the determining factor for victory. This research specifically wants to measure whether identity politics has changed the behavior of choosing the Manggarai ethnic group in providing support to Dr Herman Man. To get an overview and answers, this research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type on the Manggarai ethnic group in Kupang City. Data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. The research results show that support for the Kupang Mayor candidate pair who collaborated with the Deputy Mayor candidate pair from the Manggarai ethnic group was strengthened by the presence of a unifying forum, namely Panga and IKMR as the basis for the Manggarai people's association in Kupang City. The existence of non-formal institutions is an effective consolidation medium for gathering support and strengthening internal ethnic solidity.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the accountability of Tadulako University's 'tadulako-ness'. This research was conducted to reveal the accountability of the Tadulako University higher education institution for its various Tadulako activities in various fields related to achieving the goals and targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is important to reveal the accountability of Tadulako University as the highest and largest educational institution in Central Sulawesi. Tadulako University's involvement during this pandemic is important to know considering that the philosophy of the name 'tadulako' used contains an important and deep meaning, namely the foundation of origin or leadership so that Tadulako University's involvement in carrying out its functions and activities is certainly very necessary. This research supports and is in line with the 17 Goals and 169 targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is because the initial findings of this research are in the form of Tadulako University's concept of 'keadulakoan' accountability which is the basis and value as a reference for carrying out its accountability and aligning it with the vision and mission of Tadulako University as a form of implementing sustainable development goals. This research uses a descriptive approach. Data collection is carried out by collecting various data available in various existing reporting forms. The data was then analyzed in the context of the ketadulakoan philosophy. The results of the research show that disclosures regarding the character of ketadulakaon have not been fully revealed.

Abstract

Although the concept of procurement practices has been studied, the relationship between strategic procurement management and organisational performance has yet to be discovered. Informed by this besetting reality, solid evidence that validates the connection is required to conceptualise procurement management. Thus, the study sought to assess the relationship between procurement management and organisational performance at the leading organisation in the health sector in Zimbabwe. The study adopted a descriptive research design and quantitative research approach. The data was collected from a sample of 40 respondents who comprised the supply chain leaders of a global public health organisation in Zimbabwe. The respondents were randomly selected, and data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire. The study's key findings indicated that sound procurement management improves organisational performance at a global public health organization in Zimbabwe. The study established that promoting e-procurement system management and strategic buyer-supplier relationships significantly contribute to organisational performance. Therefore, the study recommends that management adopt an electronic procurement system and e-procurement management and forge robust strategic buyer-supplier relationships to improve organisational performance.

Abstract

Instructional communication is an important element in educational communication between teachers and students. The high school international school environment is different from the national school. This study aims to find out the influence and results of analysis on international school standards and teacher competence in high schools located in DKI Jakarta on instructional communication and communication behaviour. The methodology used is a mixed sequential explanatory method, conducting a survey of high school level students at an international school in DKI Jakarta and processed through semi-structural interviews and literature. The results shown that international school standards directly influence communication behaviour but not directly affect instructional communication. While teacher competence directly influences instructional communication, not directly affect communication behaviour. However, instructional communication as an intervening variable increases influence on international school standards and teacher competence on communication behaviour. Hence, the environment and the teacher's competence influence how the teacher teaches and acts as a model through verbal and nonverbal instructional communication. However, cultural and experiential also influence how Indonesian and foreign teachers apply instructional communication and react to students. The reactions of the two communities are sometimes different and have an impact on the profile of students who study abroad.

Abstract

This research examines the factors that influence poverty levels in Indonesia, both directly and indirectly, by analyzing the involvement of labor force participation levels. The study uses BPS data and the APBN Data Portal to evaluate wages, education, and government spending in the education and health sectors as influencing variables. Using time series data, this research form by path analysis aims to identify direct or indirect relationships between variables. The data is first analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis as part of the research methodology. This research using path analysis and the Sobel test, researchers found that education levels only up to junior secondary school have an impact on changes in labor force participation rates but do not have an impact on reducing poverty. In contrast, other variables, such as wages and government spending in the education and health sectors, do not indirectly affect poverty through the labor force participation rate.

Abstract

Indonesian society faced the Covid-19 pandemic some time ago. On February 13, 2022, the government accelerated vaccination for doses 1 to 2 with 326.62 million vaccine doses. The debate and problem that occurs is that several groups of people reject vaccination, which is called the anti-vaccination community, with responses that give rise to their respective truth claims. The truth claim is expressed in not attending the vaccine center organized by the government. This research aims to see the need for a consensus to reduce the stigma of Covid-19 vaccination in anti-vaccine communities. The gap in this research is the views of the anti-vaccine community regarding the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination in Semanan Village. The discourse approach could be more effective, especially in the anti-vaccination community in the Semanan sub-district area, DKI Jakarta Province. Discursive communication theory is used to identify this communicative action, which suggests the context of Communication, namely ego identity towards truth claim. Findings obtained that, in implementing the COVID-19 vaccination, the community formed an institution with aspects of professionalism, which impacted the implementation of the vaccine center in the Semanan sub-district area. Professionalism institutions consist of opinion leaders, medical roles, and approaches through socio-cultural and socio-religious roles. More than discursive communication competence is required. Humanistic Communication highlights the importance of adding elements of agreeableness, namely how to treat relationships with others to avoid Conflict.

Abstract

Throughout human civilization's history, it has been known that the dynamics and movements of an organization to some extent depend on humans as the implementers in carrying out organizational activities. When examined in general, the success of an organization or a company in achieving its goals depends on the components within the organization itself, such as leadership, employees, programs, objectives, facilities, and infrastructure available. Performance is crucial in a company because it is closely related to the activities carried out by employees. Mangkunegara (2010) defines employee performance as the quality and quantity of work an employee achieves in carrying out their tasks by their responsibilities. Competence is a fundamental characteristic of an individual that influences how they think and act, make generalizations about all situations they encounter, and endure within a person for a considerable period (Ruky, 2006). Leadership style has a strong positive influence on performance. In an institution, organizational behavior factors also directly or indirectly affect performance. This study focuses on all SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) near Badung Regency, using random sampling for testing variables with Smart PLS 4.0. From the research results, it can be concluded that leadership style does not have a significant influence on employee performance, competence has a significant positive relationship with employee performance. Job satisfaction does not have a significant influence on employee performance. Leadership style does not have an indirect influence on employee performance. Competence does not have an indirect influence on employee performance through job satisfaction.
