Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence tourist attitudes toward environmentally friendly practices in four-star hotels in Garut. The research employs a quantitative approach using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to validate the measurement model based on five latent constructs: environmental concern, personal norms, perceived value, willingness to pay, and green purchasing behaviour. Data were collected through a structured online questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents who had previously stayed in four-star hotels in Garut. The questionnaire items were adapted from previous studies and measured using a five-point Likert scale. The analysis confirmed that the observed variables grouped into three key dimensions that influence tourist attitudes, namely: green awareness and responsibility, perceived economic value, and green action tendencies. These results suggest that internal awareness, perceived benefits, and behavioral orientation play a critical role in shaping tourist support for green practices in the hospitality industry. The study provides practical insights for hotel managers to improve communication strategies, enhance sustainable facility offerings, and design guest participation programs that align with tourist values. This research highlights the importance of aligning environmental initiatives with guest expectations to increase acceptance and active involvement in sustainable tourism.

Abstract

Electric vehicles (EVs) are increasingly recognized as an important solution to address environmental challenges and reduce carbon emissions. This study explores the factors influencing consumers' green purchase intention toward luxury electric vehicles in Indonesia, focusing on the roles of environmental performance, price value, range confidence, and environmental concern, with attitude toward electric vehicles serving as a mediating variable. The research sample consists of individuals who currently own gasoline-powered luxury vehicles. Using a survey method, this quantitative research measured key constructs with a Likert scale and analysed the relationships among variables through statistical testing, including validity, reliability, and structural equation modelling. The results show that environmental performance, price value, range confidence, environmental concern, and attitude toward electric vehicles all have a significant impact on green purchase intention. Moreover, the four main variables also significantly influence attitudes toward electric vehicles. The study further confirms that attitude toward electric vehicles fully mediates the effects of environmental performance, price value, range confidence, and environmental concern on green purchase intention.

Abstract

This study examines the optimization of critical raw material inventory control policies in an Engineering-to-Order (ETO) manufacturing unit operating under a “no inventory” policy. The main challenges in the ETO system are demand uncertainty and unique product specifications, which are exacerbated by the prohibition on stocking. Through ABC analysis and CV-ADI classification, three critical materials (Materials 1, 4, and 7) are identified with lumpy and erratic demand patterns. The Syntetos-Boylan Approximation (SBA) forecasting method proves to be the most accurate for these demand patterns. Furthermore, three inventory policy scenarios (existing, continuous review (s, Q), and periodic review (R, S)) are evaluated based on total cost and service level. The results show that the existing policy has a low service level. For Materials 1 and 7, the continuous review (s, Q) system offers the most optimal cost with high service levels (77.14% and 95.30%). Meanwhile, for Material 4, the periodic review (R, S) system proves to be the most efficient with a service level of 95%. This study provides data-driven inventory policy recommendations that can improve operational efficiency, minimize stockout risks, and support production sustainability in an ETO environment with inventory constraints.

Abstract

The planet is gradually deteriorating due to climate change. Climate change is created by shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. Changes in temperatures might be natural, however, since the nineteenth century, human beings have made a significant contribution to climate change by not being environmentally conscious when burning fossil fuels, deforestation, using fertilisers and using fluorinated gases. Consequently, adding vast quantities of greenhouse gases to those naturally occurring in the atmosphere results in a rise in the greenhouse effect and global warming. Climate change affects not only human and natural systems but also the transparency of companies in making their financial disclosure during such climate conditions. The companies can be transparent by using the climate accounting tool to measure and report on the organisation's climate impact through direct and indirect emissions. Given the non-disclosures of many companies, the study explored International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) disclosures and the dynamics of climate change. This disclosure motivates investors by informing them about climate solutions and how the company is building its resilience against climate impacts so that they can make informed investment decisions. The data is collected from JSE-listed manufacturing companies using Refinitiv Eikon, using a historical period from 2005 to 2022. The analysis uses descriptive statistics involving dissimilar econometric techniques such as the panel data dependence technique, pooled multivariate regression, Generalised Method of Moments (GMM), feasible generalised least squares and Pooled Fixed and Random effects. The study found a cross-sectional dependence among the identified dynamics.

Abstract

This research focuses on the need to develop a composting methodology for Anacardium occidentale (cashew) cultivation, aiming to optimize production and offer an alternative during times of input scarcity and high costs. This research stems from the need to find sustainable and economical solutions for farmers. The research was conducted in an exploratory and diagnostic manner. Farmers participated in the construction of the bokashi compost pile at the Namasté farm, using raw materials from the production unit. A statistical inference analysis was performed using linear regression and correlation tests. The dependent variables, temperature and pH, were analyzed. It was established that temperature affects the composting phases, allowing the proposed method to be tested and proven useful. The efficiency of bokashi composting for A. occidentale (cashew) cultivation was found. The dependent variables, temperature and pH, were analyzed. Agricultural production was optimized through the use of bokashi composting. The objective of proposing a composting methodology for A. occidentale (cashew) cultivation was achieved. The proposed method can be further studied, experimented with, and explored, as it has yielded excellent results. Bokashi composting is an economical and easy-to-implement alternative for optimizing agricultural production. This research contributes to the sustainability and economic well-being of farmers.

Abstract

Sustainable national development aims to improve the overall welfare of society without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. This study examines the challenges faced by Indonesia in realizing sustainable development using a literature review from various related journals. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of sustainable development in Indonesia still faces several major obstacles, including weak coordination between government agencies, limited funding, development inequality between regions, low public awareness of the environment, and the threat of environmental damage and climate change. In addition, the quality of human resources and the availability of environmentally friendly technologies are also inhibiting factors. This study emphasizes that the success of sustainable development requires synergy between the government, society, the education sector, and the private sector, as well as the implementation of the Archipelago Outlook as a guideline in planning fair, equitable, and ecological development. By overcoming these challenges, Indonesia has the opportunity to realize inclusive and sustainable national development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of underwriting risk, reinsurance risk, technical provision risk, firm size, and leverage on the financial performance of conventional insurance companies in Indonesia. Financial performance is measured using return on equity. The study applies a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the financial statements of insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period of 2020 to 2024, with a total of 200 observations. Panel data regression was employed, and the Hausman test indicated that the fixed effect model was the most appropriate. The results show that firm size has a positive and significant effect on return on equity. Meanwhile, underwriting risk and reinsurance risk have negative but insignificant effects, while technical provision risk and leverage have positive but insignificant effects. These findings suggest that company size plays an important role in increasing profitability, while risk-related variables do not significantly influence financial performance during the observation period.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers' competence in enhancing organisational performance within Ghana's cocoa industry, using the Relational View (RV) and Dynamic Capability Theory (DCT) as frameworks. It investigates how logistics integration—through internal and external information sharing, IT capabilities, and resource sharing—impacts 3PL competence and organisational performance. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected from 989 stakeholders in Ghana's cocoa supply chain, including Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs), haulage providers, and warehousing firms. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) were used to analyze the data. Results show that logistics integration significantly enhances 3PL competence, which in turn improves organisational performance. External IT capabilities had the strongest positive relationship with 3PL competence (β = 0.245, p < 0.001), followed by internal IT capabilities (β = 0.176, p < 0.001) and external information sharing (β = 0.217, p < 0.001). Transportation sharing, however, did not significantly influence 3PL competence (β = 0.018, p = 0.356). The study concludes that 3PL competence is a critical mediator between logistics integration and organisational performance, emphasizing the importance of strong 3PL partnerships, IT investments, and effective information sharing. It also validates the complementary roles of RV and DCT in explaining how relational mechanisms and dynamic capabilities drive success in complex environments. Recommendations include enhancing 3PL competence through provider selection, IT investments, and policy support, while future research should explore other industries, advanced technologies, and longitudinal impacts.
