Abstract

This study aimed to determine the genetic potential of Saburai bucks for weaning weight based on breeding value in the Makmur II Livestock Group, Gisting District, Tanggamus Regency and to determine which individuals deserve to be maintained in the population. This research was conducted in May 2021 at Gisting Atas Village, Gisting District, Tanggamus Regency. This study used a survey method using weaning weight data at first and second parity that has been recorded by farmers in the recording. The observed variables were birth weight, weaning weight, weaning age, age of the dam at the time of giving birth, birth type, and sex of kid. Weaning weight data at each parity were corrected for the age of the dam, sex, and type of birth of kids. Repeatability estimates was calculated using interclass correlation method, while heritability estimates was calculated using paternal halfsib with one way layout. The results of this study showed that the average corrected weaning weight of Saburai goat was 14.35±0.33 kg, heritability value was 0.39±0.20 (high category), repeatability estimate was 0.61 (high category), and the average breeding value of weaning weights of Saburai buck was 13.96 kg. The breeding values of 5 Saburai goats in the Makmur II Livestock Group, Gisting District, Tanggamus Regency, were Os (14.09 kg), Ba (14.02 kg), Pa (13.94 kg), Ad (13.89 kg), Pg (13.86 kg). Abstract

This study aimed to find out the effect of marination period with fermented coconut water on the chemical composition of broiler meat. This research was conducted in July 2020 at the Livestock Production Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture and Integrated Chemistry Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Lampung University. The research materials used were 9 pieces of broiler chest meat. The study used a Complete Randomized Design with 3 treatments and 3 repeatation. Treatment in this study was the length of marinade in fermented coconut water with control/without marinade (M0), 40 minutes (M1), and 80 minutes (M2). The observed changes are water content, protein content, and fat content. The data obtained was analyzed with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at a significant level of 5% and if there is a significant difference, it was continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results of this study showed that the long treatment of marination did not affect water content, protein levels, and fat content and the length of marination using fermented coconut water for 40 minutes was the best marination length compared to the length of marination by using fermented coconut water for 80 minutes. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of various mixture of cassava leaves and cassava waste fermented by Aspergillus niger on dry matter, crude fiber, and crude protein. This research was carried out in August 2021--September 2021 at the Animal Nutrition and Feeding Laboratory, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were cassava waste without mixture + Aspergillus niger 1% BK (P0), cassava leaves without mixture + Aspergillus niger 1% BK (P1), cassava waste 20% + cassava leaves 80% + Aspergillus niger 1% BK (P2), cassava waste 40% + cassava leaves 60% + Aspergillus niger 1% BK (P3), and cassava waste 60% + 40% cassava leaves + Aspergillus niger 1% BK (P4). The variables observed in this study included dry matter, crude fiber, and crude protein of product of fermentation. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance with a significance level of 1% or 5% and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that fermentation with Aspergillus niger 1% BK could reduce the crude fiber content in a mixture of cassava waste and cassava leaves from 18.24% to 12.45% after fermentation, and could increase the crude protein content of fermented products. While the best response of fermentation of mixture of cassava waste and cassava leaves on the chemical quality of dry matter, crude fiber, and crude protein was obtained in a mixture of 40% cassava waste + 60% cassava leaves + Aspergillus niger 1% BK which produced 20.48% crude protein with low crude fiber of 10.81%. Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of soybean meal supplementation in the ration on physical quality, namely specific gravity, pH, reductase, and dairy goat milk alcohol tests. The research was conducted from July to Agust 2021 at the Telaga Rizky Ranch owned by Mr. Setiono Heri Winarko, Yosodadi Village, East Metro District, Metro city. The samples used in this study were 12 Sapera goats that were lactating and grouped based on body weight. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) method with 4 treatments and 3 replication, namely P0 (control), P1 (soybean meal 5%), P2 (soybean meal 10%), P3 (soybean meal 15%). The data obtained were than analyzed by variance (ANOVA). The results showed that there was no significant effect (P>0.05) of the treatment on the physical test of diary goats’s milk supplemented with soybean meal. The result showed that the physical test of milk, namely for the specific gravity test was 1.0297 g/cm3, pH was 6,8, reductase was 8,0 hours, and alcohol test was negative. The physical quality of Sapera goat’s milk has good quality and is in accordance with the Indonesian Nasional Standard (2011). Keywords: alcohol, specific gravity, pH, reductase, soybean meal

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi larutan daun kersen terhadap indeks kuning telur, warna kuning telur, dan pH kuning telur serta konsentrasi daun kersen terbaik untuk telur asin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 25 Februari--01 Maret 2022, bertempat di Laboratorium Produksi Ternak, Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 4 perlakuan konsentrasi daun kersen (0%, 10%, 20%, dan 30%) dengan 5 ulangan. Setiap satuan percobaan menggunakan 7 butir telur ayam sehingga total 140 butir telur dan 60 butir dijadikan sampel penelitian. Selanjutnya data yang didapatkan dianalisis dengan ragam taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh tidak nyata (P<0,05) terhadap indeks kuning telur, warna kuning telur, dan pH kuning telur. Daun kersen konsentrasi 30% menunjukkan perlakuan nilai indeks kuning telur dan pH kuning telur sebesar 0,85 dan 6,85 sedangkan, pada warna kuning telur sebesar 10,93.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh amoniasi dengan level urea yang berbeda pada kulit singkong terhadap kadar air, abu, protein kasar dan serat kasar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada April–Juni 2021 bertempat di Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Parameter yang diukur adalah kadar air, abu, protein kasar, dan serat kasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu limbah kulit singkong tanpa urea (P0), limbah kulit singkong dengan 1,5% urea (P1), limbah kulit singkong dengan 3% urea (P2), limbah kulit singkong dengan 4,5% urea (P3). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis statatistik dengan menggunakan Analysis Of Variance (ANOVA) dengan uji lanjut polynomial orthogonal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh amoniasi dengan level urea yang berbeda berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kadar air, abu, protein kasar dan serat kasar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh umur potong dan penambahan zat aditif yang berbeda terhadap uji organoleptik serta kadar air. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap pola faktorial 4x3, dengan 3 ulangan. Sehingga tedapat 36 petak pecobaan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1. U40 (umur potong 40 hari), U50 (umur potong 50 hari), U60 (umur potong 60 hari), U70 (umur potong 70 hari), 2. A1 (tanpa zat aditif), A2 (Penambahan Molases) dan A3 (Penambahan Dedak Padi). Variabel yang diamati yaitu kadar air dan uji organoleptik (warna, tekstur, keberadaan jamur dan pH). Hasil analisis ragam perlakuan umur potong berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kadar air silase rumput pakchong. Silase rumput pakchong menggunakan berbagai jenis zat aditif dengan pemotongan 40 hari, 50 hari, 60 hari, dan 70 hari diperoleh hasil rata rata warna silase hijau kecoklatan, pada umur potong 70 hari memiliki tekstur yang kasar dan mudah dipisahkan, dan rata rata terdapat sedikit jamur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa perlakuan umur potong dan penambahan zat aditif yang berbeda tidak berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pH silase rumput pakchong.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecukupan nutrisi pada sapi potong. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Februari--Maret 2022 di Koperasi Produksi Ternak Maju Sejahtera, Kecamatan Tanjung Sari, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Analisis kualitas nutrisi pakan dilakukan di laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Data diambil dengan metode survey. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan konsumsi pakan pada ransum KPT kandang 1 sebanyak 123,28 kg/ekor/hari, pada kandang 2 sebanyak 124,44 kg/ekor/hari, kandang 5 sebanyak 124,36 kg/ekor/hari sedangkan dengan menggunakan pakan uji coba pada kandang 3 sebanyak 124,92 kg/ekor/hari dan pada kandang 4 sebanyak 124,85 kg/ekor/hari. Pertambahan bobot badan sapi dengan ransum KPT pada kandang 1 sebesar 6,1 kg/10ekor/30hari, pada kandang 2 sebesar 9,2 kg/10ekor/30hari, pada kandang 5 sebesar 6,9 kg/10ekor/30hari. Sedangkan dengan ransum uji coba memiliki pertambahan bobot badan 10,6 kg/10ekor/30hari pada kandang 3 dan 12,4 kg/10ekor/30hari pada kandang 4. Konversi ransum pakan KPT pada kandang 1 sebanyak 20,15, pada kandang 2 sebanyak 13,46, lalu pada kandang 5 sebanyak 17,92. Sedangkan dengan menggunakan pakan uji coba pada kandang 3 sebanyak 11,68 dan pada kandang 4 sebanyak 10,05. Kualitas pakan pada kadar air ransum KPT (15,86%) dan pada ransum Uji Coba 14,37, protein kasar (10,99%), lemak kasar (6,68%), dan serat kasar (26,28%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis terbaik pemberian tepung maggot terhadap LDL dan HDL darah ayam joper betina. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Februari – Maret 2022 dan berlokasi di Peternakan Ayam Joper Daffa, Labuhan Dalem, Kecamatan Tanjung Senang, Kota Bandar Lampung. Pemeriksaan LDL dan HDL dilakukan di Laboratorium Klinik Pramitra Biolab Indonesia, Way Halim, Bandar Lampung. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu ransum tanpa suplementasi tepung maggot (P0), ransum dengan suplementasi 5 % tepung maggot (P1), ransum dengan suplementasi 10 % tepung maggot (P2), dan ransum dengan suplementasi 15 % tepung maggot (P3). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam dan diuji lanjut menggunakan uji Beda Nyara Terkecil (BNT). Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi tepung maggot sampai 15 % tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kadar Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) dan hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan ransum tanpa suplementasi tepung maggot (P0) dengan ransum ditambah suplementasi tepung maggot 10 % (P2) berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap High density lipoprotein (HDL) darah ayam joper betina.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kombinasi vitamin E, selenium, dan zinc terhadap jumlah eritrosit, hemoglobin dan hematokrit pada ayam kampung betina. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Januari-Maret 2022 di unit kandang Laboratorium Lapang Terpadu, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Pemeriksaan sampel darah dilakukan di Balai Besar Laboratorium Kesehatan Palembang. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan melalui air minum dengan P0 (kontrol); P1 0,015 g/kg BB (Vitamin E 0,6 IU, Selenium 0,06 mg, dan Zinc 2,4 mg); P2 0,03 g/kg BB (Vitamin E 1,2 IU, Selenium 0,012 mg, dan Zinc 4,8 mg); P3 0,06 g/kg BB (Vitamin E 2,4 IU, Selenium 0,024 mg, dan Zinc 9,6 mg). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam dengan taraf nyata 5% dan dilanjutkan dengan uji polinomial ortogonal. Hasil penelitian didapatkan pemberian Vitamin E, Selenium dan Zinc tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap total eritrosit, hemoglobin dan hematokrit. Hasil uji polinomial ortogonal menunjukkan dosis pemberian Vitamin E, Selenium dan Zinc optimum pada eritrosit, hemoglobin dan hematokrit berturut-turut adalah 0,04 g/kg BB; 0,05 g/kg BB dan 0,04 g/kg BB.
