Abstract

The curriculum is the lifeblood of education, because all things related to education come from the curriculum, material content, learning strategies, and methods used. The government very concerned with education because the good character and behaviour of the nation next generation depends on the quality of the education itself, the quality of education is good if the curriculum used is also of quality, the government’s efforts to improve education are proven by the improvement of the education unit level curriculum into a national curriculum, namely the two thousand and thirteen curriculum. In this curriculum, the method used is using the scientific method with the learning steps of observing, asking, trying, associating and communicating. The scientific method itself seems to be more identical with science and science subjects, but it turns out that the scientific method can be used in Islamic education subjects, according to the journals that the researchers read, many schools have started Islamic education lessons used the scientific method, some can carry out learning well, but not a few teachers who have difficulty in applying this scientific method, these obstacles can come from the curriculum itself, from teachers, even come from students who are objects. The most felt obstacles in the application of the scientific method of learning Islamic education include the uneven creativity of the teacher to be able to make learning accepted by students, the psychology of the students being another obstacle, the lack of facilities and available media so that they cannot provide education optimally. So it takes the cooperation of all elements to be able to create scientific-based Islamic education.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the local wisdom of Islamic boarding schools which become the solution to religious intolerance attitude in Indonesia. This research employed qualitative research by means of the library research method. The literature review is an important point in this research because that was where the researcher was able to collect information that becomes a reference for finding the phenomenon that occurs. An extraordinary gift was given by the Almighty when Indonesia has a diversity of cultures, ethnicities, languages, and religions. With the diversity that exists, it is undeniable that there are differences that lead to divisions and disputes, especially in religious differences. There is often occur an attitude of religious intolerance that becomes a public discussion, or within religion itself the occurrence of intolerance, because of different understandings in interpreting teaching he adheres to. This can lead to conflict in the community. Hence, this intolerance must be fixed by providing a universal understanding to the adherents of their respective religions. So that people do not fail to understand in understanding the teachings they profess. This difference must be upheld because the philosophy of religious life in Indonesia is oriented to Pancasila (Five Principles of the Indonesian State), as stated in the first principle, namely "Belief in the one and only God".

Abstract

Quality education is one of the goals of learning in Indonesia. Quality education will not be realized if the supporting factors do not run according to their function. Teachers as educators have a central role in realizing this quality education. However, several obstacles arise that cause the teacher's performance to be less than optimal. Not only general education, Islamic religious education also gets the spotlight on the quality of education that is still lacking and the problems it faces. This study aims to examine the performance of Islamic religious education teachers and the problems of the quality of Islamic religious education that have emerged until now. This study uses the literature review method or literature review. Sources of data were obtained from various reference books and scientific journals. Then the data is collected and analyzed in depth. From this study, it was found that the performance of PAI teachers was still less than optimal, this happened because of the lack of teacher discipline in punctuality and obeying school rules, as well as the lack of teachers mastering the ability to plan learning tools. Furthermore, the problem of the quality of Islamic religious education arises based on several factors, both educators, students, curriculum, management and facilities, and infrastructure.

Because the concept of Islamic education views the human completely, mind and heart, spiritual and physical, morals and skills. Islamic education cannot be separated from the organizing institution. By emphasizing the progressive Islamic character, Muhammadiyah, which has made the education sector as a strategic charity to enlighten the nation, has survived in managing education since its establishment in 1912 until now. The success of Muhammadiyah in developing education cannot be separated from the intelligence of Kiai Ahmad Dahlan, whose thoughts were used as the foundation for establishing Muhammadiyah. Abstract

The conflict between science and religion continues because it is considered two different areas. The relationship between science and religion is a complicated but important one. Science holds the realm of reasoning, while religion is in the realm of revelation. At the same time, both are actively involved in solving the problems of human life. This paper raises the contribution of Ian G. Barbour's thoughts in his fourth typology, namely integration and how it contributes to Islamic studies.

Abstract

Pesantren has several functions, among others, as a character education institution. Among the many characters that must be instilled in students, creative characters, tolerance, and responsibility are the three main character pillars. Creative characters need to be instilled in students so that students are not out of date. With a creative character, students will always seek and find new things in their lives. Tolerance is important for students because they will face diversity both inside and outside the pesantren. Responsibility is very important, because responsibility is a basic character that must be instilled early on in students. From these problems, motivation emerged to study efforts to build creative character, tolerance, and responsibility in students. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The results of this study indicate that efforts to build the students who have creativity, tolerance, and responsibility in general can be done by creating an environment that is creative, tolerant, and responsible. In particular, it can be done using a normative approach, a model approach, a reward and punishment approach, a value planting approach, a substantive learning approach, and a reflective learning approach.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia brought major changes in the world of education. Government provisions regarding restrictions on physical interactions between people require everyone to carry out activities in private spaces. Everything that was originally done in the public space was 'forced' to change. A revolution in learning has occurred at all levels of education which requires students and teachers to no longer interact physically in the classroom but in virtual classrooms. The Transition have never been carried out on a massive scale has shocked both teachers and students. The purpose of this study was to find out the challenges faced by families in implementing education during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative approach by analyzing Islamic education books and the arguments related to education in the family. The researcher took a contextual approach in assessing the adaptation of existing theory to the actual conditions at the time the research was conducted during the Covid-19 pandemic. The data were then analyzed including data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study concluded that education during the pandemic underwent drastic changes with the use of a distance learning system, which was never done by most Indonesians before. This requires adaptation for teachers, students and also parents. This major change also reminds us that the role of the family returns to its essence as the first and foremost institution in educating humans, fathers and mothers are educators while their children act as students. The challenge of Islamic family education during the Covid-19 pandemic is education in the family. In essence, education begins in the family as the smallest environment for parents, children first receive guidance and coaching, before they enter the school environment and the wider community.

Abstract

This study aims to elaborate on the problems and challenges of learning the yellow book or classical Islamic books. The study method used is literature review, in which relevant literature is collected, read, and analyzed to obtain conclusions that are academically justifiable. The results of the study show that among the problems and challenges faced by Muslims is the lack of human resources who have the ability to read the yellow book. This phenomenon then leads to the problems and challenges of learning the yellow book, namely the low interest of students in learning to read, understand, and explain the contents of the yellow book. This is also due to the fact that the ability to read the yellow book alone is seen as not promising a profession, a job, and a decent life. So that parents are more likely to send their children not to Islamic boarding schools that focus on studying the yellow book, but to general educational institutions, both schools and madrasas.

Abstract

Concepts of reason, brain, and the Qur'an in neuroscience, intelligence is among human capacities in which goals are tools and a pair of knowledge scales to understand right and wrong. Intelligence in the Qur'an can be intended as a medium to think about Allah's authorization and creation in all circumstances. Intellect is part of the greatest gift. It will be given by Allah to humans as creatures who have the highest position in the eyes of Allah. Anatomically, the brain can be divided into several parts according to their respective roles and functions. Whereas Neuroscience and how it relates to Islamic education. Referring to the study that Islamic education only discusses the aspect of thought (reason), one indication is that Islamic religious learning is only in the doctrinal pedagogical part and not rational and empirical. As a result, Islamic education has not been able to develop the potential of the brain that exists in students to become superior human beings, where human excellence is determined by their mind/reason or brain.
