Abstract

This research aims to provide an overview of the preparation of students from the Department of Electrical Engineering to carry out the Industrial Field Practice program. The method in this research uses a quantitative descriptive method, meaning that this research method aims to express a picture or description of an objective that is arranged using numbers, starting from data collection, interpretation of the data obtained, and the appearance of the research results. The instrument in this research used a questionnaire that was distributed to students. Each statement item on the instrument is assessed using a Likert scale. The data analysis used is a quantitative descriptive approach using averages, standard deviation values​​, and score categories one to five to determine the extent of data distribution. The results of this research indicate the level of readiness of Electrical Engineering Department students in implementing the Industrial Field Practice program. Several indicators have the same category level, namely the cognitive readiness indicator is in the sufficient category, the affective readiness indicator is in the sufficient category and the psychomotor readiness indicator is also in the sufficient category. So, it can be concluded that the level of readiness of Electrical Engineering Department students to carry out the Industrial Field Practice program can be interpreted as being quite ready as measured by 3 readiness indicators.

Abstract

This research aims to develop trainer learning media in portable form on the subject of electrical lighting installation, as well as evaluate its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This learning media is designed with the aim of increasing interaction between teachers and students so that the learning process is active, effective, and efficient. This research is an implementation of research and development (R&D) methods in developing learning media for electrical lighting installation subjects. By using the 4D development method which involves a series of steps from the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The data collected is primary in nature, originating from the participation of expert lecturers, teachers, and students to evaluate the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the learning media developed. Through this method, this research produces in-depth insights regarding the use of learning media in the context of learning electrical lighting installations. The results obtained from this research and development are as follows: the validity results obtained from the lecturer's assessment are declared valid, the results from practicality testing obtained from the average of teacher practicality and student practicality are in the very practical category, and the effectiveness value of media trainer testing Smart buildings fall into the effective category.

Abstract

This study discusses one of the stages of research on the development of Problem-Based Learning Mechatronics 2 practicum job sheet for the learning process of Mechatronics Practicum 2 students of the Electrical Engineering Department, namely validity testing analysis. The validity of the Problem-Based Learning -based Mechatronics 2 practicum job sheet is divided into two aspects, namely media and material aspects. Each aspect is validated respectively by two validators who have expertise in accordance with these aspects. The instrument used in this validity test is a validity questionnaire that has gone through the instrument validation process before. The analysis was carried out with Aiken's V validity analysis technique. Then it was interpreted with the product development validity interpretation table to get the validity category. The results showed that the Problem-Based Learning -based Mechatronics 2 practicum job sheet developed was valid in all aspects of both media and material aspects. The media aspect obtained a value of V = 0.93 which means valid, and the material aspect obtained a value of V = 0.9 with a valid category. Thus, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning -based Mechatronics 2 practicum job sheet developed for the learning process of Mechatronics 2 Practicum for Electrical Engineering Department students is valid in both media and material aspects.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of knowing how much the contribution of interest and learning independence to student learning outcomes in the subject of Electrical Power Installation at SMK N 2 Kota Sungai Penuh. This type of research is quantitative using correlation analysis. The subjects in this study were students of class XI TITL at SMK N 2 Kota Sungai Penuh with a total of 29 students consisting of 16 students of class XI TITL 1 and 13 students of class XI TITL 2. The sample determination was carried out by means of Proportional Random Sampling. Data collection using a questionnaire, scoring the questionnaire instrument with a Likert scale then the questionnaire is validated by an expert lecturer validator of the Electrical Engineering Department before being tested and distributed to the main respondents. Data analysis used in the study includes normality test, linearity test and multicollinearity test. Hypothesis testing using a correlation test and hypothesis determination test using a t-test is carried out to test the effect partially between independent and dependent variables. The results showed that there was an influence between the variables of student learning interest on practical learning outcomes in Electrical Power Installation subjects, there was an influence between the variables of student learning independence on practical learning outcomes in Electrical Power Installation subjects, there was an influence between the variables of student learning interest and learning independence together on practical learning outcomes in Electrical Power Installation subjects at SMK 2 Sungai Penuh. So, it can be concluded that Interest and Learning Independence affect Student Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

This research focuses on increasing students' interest and skills in Electrical Engineering Drawing through the application of the Project-Based Learning learning model with the support of Autocad as a tool. The aim is to overcome obstacles in conventional learning and improve the effectiveness and results of students' practice. This research uses a quasi-experiment approach with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were students of class X TKL 1 and To measure effectiveness, the experimental group was given treatment using the Project-Based Learning learning model assisted by Autocad, while the control group applied the conventional learning model. Psychomotor results will be analyzed through a number of tests, including descriptive, t-test, classical exhaustiveness, and effect size. Based on the research results, it appears that the experimental group using the Project-Based Learning learning model assisted by Autocad had a significantly higher average score (82.89) than the control group (68.53). The standard deviation of the experimental group was also lower, indicating better consistency. In addition, the pass percentage in the experimental group (94.4%) was much higher than the control group (25%). Thus, it can be concluded that the application of this learning model is effective in improving students' practical results in the Electrical Engineering Drawing subject at SMK Negeri 1 Bukittinggi.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of students' learning process using the Project-Based Learning learning model in the Electrical Lighting Installation subject in class XI TKL SMK N 1 Bukittinggi. The learning process for Electrical Lighting Installation in class The Project-Based Learning learning model is a learning model that is suitable for use in learning Electrical Lighting Installation because it increases student activity, trains students to think critically, and develops students' skills. This research uses a type of experimental research in the form of a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects in this research were class XI students at SMK N 1 Bukittinggi in the 2023/2024 academic year. The instrument used in this research used students' practical performance assessment sheets. The research results showed that the learning outcomes of students using the Project-Based Learning learning model were superior to the learning outcomes of students using conventional learning models. Therefore, learning using the Project-Based Learning learning model can be said to be effectively applied to the Electrical Lighting Installation subject.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the practical skills of students by using a project-based learning model in Electrical Lighting Installation lessons in class XI TITL SMK Negeri 5 Padang. This type of research is experimental research with a pre-experimental design with a one-shot chase study. The research instrument used is a student skills assessment sheet using an assessment rubric collected through observation. Before conducting research, the skill assessment sheet was validated first by two experts, namely FT-UNP Electrical Engineering lecturers and Electrical Lighting Installation subject teachers. The population amounted to 73 students with a research sample of 13 people from class XI TITL 2 at SMK Negeri 5 Padang. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive data analysis technique which includes mean, median, mode, standard deviation, frequency distribution table, and histogram. The results showed that students' practical skills were very good in Electrical Lighting Installation lessons using the project-based learning model.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning method on the learning outcomes of Basic Electrical Engineering Students in class X at SMKN 1 Pariaman. Learning using the Problem-Based Learning method has not shown significant changes in student learning development. Therefore, students do not appear to have the skills to express thoughts, opinions, and ideas and digest the discussion topics presented, thus influencing student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain. Therefore, it is necessary to research the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning method to see its effectiveness on student learning outcomes. This research uses a type of experimental research which is categorized into a type pf quasi-experimental research using two classes, namely the experimental and control classes. The subjects of this research were students in class to measure this effectiveness, a pretest was given before implementing Problem-Based Learning. The posttest is given after the Basic Electrical Engineering learning process. The post-test results will be analyzed using tests such as classical completeness and effect size. The test results show that the scores of students who apply Problem-Based learning are better than those who do not apply Problem-Based Learning. There was an increase in student learning outcomes after implementing Problem-Based Learning. So Problem-Based learning is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the impact of implementing a collaborative problem-solving model on learning outcomes of the basics of electrical engineering of students in class X at SMK Dhuafa Padang. This research uses a quantitative approach in the form of a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects in this research were 15 students of X grade TITL at SMK Dhuafa Padang. The instrument used in this research is multiple choice test questions, which are prepared based on the material and learning objectives to be achieved according to the curriculum. In this research instrument testing was carried out to determine the validity, reliability, level of difficulty of the questions, and the differentiating of the questions. The data analysis technique used is Classical Completeness of Student Learning Outcomes and Effect Size analysis. Based on the results of research and discussions that have been carried out, the average value of student learning outcomes taken from the post-test assessment has increased. The effect size was in a large category, so it can be said that the collaborative problem-solving model has a big impact on learning outcomes. However, for Classical Completeness of Student Learning Outcomes does not reach the minimum percentage. Other impacts received by students after implementing the treatment are that students are more active in discussing with their friends so that learning is more easily productive, helps build thinking skills, can implement problem-solving, build a positive atmosphere, and encourage or motivate other students

Abstract

Interest in learning is a high inclination towards something, supported by passion and desire, and becomes a motivation to carry out certain behaviors, including in the context of learning. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications to assist with lectures and completing course assignments is becoming an increasingly popular phenomenon among students. By using AI applications, students get fast and efficient data access to learning resources, resulting in more accurate results and saving the time needed to complete assignments. This research aims to find out whether there is an influence from the use of AI applications on the learning interest of Electrical Engineering students. This research is descriptive research with quantitative methods. The population of this study were all active electrical engineering students at Padang State University. while the samples were taken using the Solvin formula. The research process was carried out by distributing questionnaires via Google Forms. The results of this research show that there is a significant influence between the use of AI applications on electrical engineering students' interest in learning and the direction of the influence is positive.
